367 Adopted (Placed) Saint Bernards 2011
These dogs are no longer available to find dogs available for adoption please click (here).

CHLOE: is a sweet 7-year-old female. She is up to date with her shots as of February of this year. She is not spayed. Chloe is blind in her left eye, but this doesn’t seem to hinder her in the slightest! She is very loveable. Hopefully she will find a home with a fenced yard as she loves to have a place to run. Chloe does not care for little dogs, but loves bigger ones. 12/31/2011

IVY: is a beautiful 3-year-old spayed female. She is a sister of Chris who is also listed. She could use some training but in general she has a great attitude and really likes people and other dogs. Her feelings about cats are not known. Please call to learn more about her. 12/31/2011

CHRIS: is a beautifully marked 3-year-old male without the traditional full mask facial markings. He has just one eye black and reminds many people of Petie from the Little Rascals. With so much white in his coat, he looks like a fluffy snowball. He is rather tall. Chris was a stray and yet he likes people and other dogs. He will need some training as he currently wants to jump up the fence which should be corrected. He is simply a beautiful young man who would love to come home for the holidays. 12/31/2011

BRANDI: is a very friendly 2-year-old female. She is very good on a leash and is fairly laid back. Brandi is good with other dogs and loves to be around the people she loves. Please call for more information on this sweet girl. 12/31/2011

MYRTLE: is a loving 2 to 3-year-old Saint Bernard. She loves everybody, listens well, and is a joy to be around. She loves most everybody and everything. Please call for more details on this sweetie you could get her in time for Christmas! 12/31/2011

Nicholas: (also known as Nicky, Nick-Nick, and any other name his foster family comes up with). Nicholas is one sweet boy. He is 5-years-old and was recently weighed and tipped the scales at 95 pounds. He has really nice fur, is housetrained, comes when called, seems to do well with “stay”, is slightly slower with “sit” and “down”. Nicky is super well-behaved. He can be let out and he does his business and then comes straight back to the house. We were not able to get a picture of his smile/grin, but he seems to be smiling when he comes when he is called. He is very quiet around the house. Nicholas enjoys toys. He loves to give kisses and enjoys hugs. Please think about giving him a chance at a furever home at your place. 12/31/2011

Buddy 2: is about 2 1/2 years old and is an extremely loving dog. He is house trained, neutered, and gets along with kids, cats and other dogs. He loves walks and car rides, listens well, and likes to follow you around. 12/31/2011

Holly: and Mistletoe: (Decatur, Alabama) were found running stray together by Good Samaritans who tried for 2 weeks to find their family before turning them in to us as they are not in apposition to keep them. We held them an additional 7 days for their owner to claim to no avail. But the extra holding time let them relax and not be so afraid. We estimate their age to be 5 years old and it’s apparent they are used to being together and should be adopted together. If we see any change in that, we’ll let you know. They are both heartworm negative. Holly; apparent purebred, female, 93 lbs. She seems the healthier of the two and is friendly. Mistletoe; apparent purebred, tri-color, female, 73 lbs., some skin issues with some hair loss possibly Demodex but not verified yet, canine teeth broken off, timid at first but has come around a lot and is now licky”. Their chances of being adopted together here are not good. Can you help these two girls? 12/28/2011

Brandy: is an 11 month old smooth coat (short hair) st bernard. She is is up to date on all her shots, spayed, and maintained on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Brandy is a sweet girl and loves to play with other dogs, so a home with a large playmate would be ideal for her, she is also good with cats. Brandy walks well on a leash and loves to greet everyone she walks by and makes fast friends. She lived with a 3 and 4 year old child, so a home with children is okay, although she may knock very small children over accidentally with her size or when playing. Brandy is very well mannered in the house and is also housebroken and trustworthy when left alone. The only negative we have found so far with Brandy is that she can be somewhat of a barker, especially when the other dogs dont want to play with her. But other then that this girl would fit into any family easily. A fenced in yard would be preferred, but as long as she is exercised daily and gets plenty of play time to exert her energy she would be fine. 12/28/2011

Roscoe: Although Roscoe is not a st bernard he has found his way into our rescue and hearts. We just could not turn our backs on this sweet little chunk. He is a solid compact 57 pounds and we think he is a boxer/pitbull/bulldog mix. Whatever he is we do know he is a great little guy and would fit well into any home that is looking for a low energy companion. He does enjoy the comfort of the couch and will jump up to sleep on the bed with you, but he is also crate trained if you don’t prefer him hogging the bed. Roscoe is estimated to be about 6 years old. He is great with other dogs, and does well with dog savvy cats. But if the cats run he will chase them. Roscoe is great with kids too. He does need to be kept on good quality food due to chronic skin and ears infections. Roscoe currently eats Taste of Wild. If your looking for a low maintenance couch potatoe Roscoe may be your guy! Roscoe is up to date on all vaccines, neutered, and maintained on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. 12/28/2011

Fritz: is a shorthaired male that is about five years old – guess from the vet. He was turned over to rescue from our local puppy mill. Fritz has lived on a very short chain – about 2 ft long – his entire life. He is a very sweet boy and loves everyone he meets. He does have a difficult time walking since he hasn’t been allowed to walk. He has been x-rayed – both hips and spine – with good results on both. His muscles have atrophied so it will take some time and some TLC which he certainly deserves. He goes on short walks each day to strengthen his muscles and is improving. 12/24/2011

Daisy 2: is a pretty Female Saint Bernard. We don’t have a lot of background info about Ms. Daisy because she was found abandoned and left tied to a tree in Southeastern Arizona. She is quite young and we estimate that she is well under 2 years of age. Ms Daisy is still very much a puppy, super friendly and has an abundance of energy. She appears to have been housetrained and is working on some basic obedience skills with our volunteer handlers. All that is needed now is someone to adopt her and drive Ms. Daisy to her forever home. 12/20/2011

Achilles: is a very sweet and gentle two year old male Saint. He loves children, good with cats and other dogs. He loves to play and snuggle. 12/20/2011

Huey: was found as a stray in Houston. He is approximately one to 1.5 years old, and is housebroken. Huey is tolerant of cats, and likes to play with other dogs. He had a terrible case of fleas upon his arrival into rescue, which is why he appears to have very thin, patchy hair and even hair loss. Huey has been vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms, and soon will be neutered and ready for a new home. Huey loves attention, and would be a great addition to any family! 12/17/2011

Paige: approximately 18 months old. She is a shorthair, small Saint and one of our Puppy Mill Dogs. Paige is a VERY nice dog, very sensitive and wants to please, so learns quickly. Paige is quiet in the house and rides well in the car. She is crate trained and loves her crate. When there is to much activity in the house, Paige will go to her crate as she treats it like her bedroom. She is partially housetrained, is spade and up to date on her shots, micro chipped and heartworm neg. (Paige has some special needs that will be explained to any interested adopter). If this beautiful girl would fit into your family, consider adopting today. 12/15/2011

Lady: (Texarkansas) is a 4 year old spayed female Saint. She weighs about 100 lbs, and has always been kept as an outdoor dog, thus is not presently housebroken. Lady rides well in the car, and is up to date on all medical, including shots and heartworm prevention. She needs a new home because her 98 year old “Dad” can no longer care for her due to his own health issues. Lady has not been around cats, but is currently housed with one other dog. She is dominant with the food bowl, but otherwise is okay with the other dog. Lady is very friendly and gentle, and would love some kids to play with. She really loves attention. Lady is located in the Texarkansas area. 12/13/2011

Olivia: (Seneca, SC) This is Olivia. She is a 3 year old St. Bernard who is UTD on her shots, heart worm and flee prevention meds. She was picked up from someone who had her tied to a tree in the heat, malnourished and I believe teased by other dogs while on the leash. Olivia LOVES ALL people, kids included! She so wants to be the center of someone’s home. She had heart worms when we picked her up but has been treated and is doing great! She is housetrained and walks very well on a leash. She does not like other dogs though. The only time she will bark or pull on the leash is at another dog. We would love if you could provide a permanent home for Olivia. 12/7/2011

Sophie: (San Antonio, TX) is probably about 3 or 4 years old and a wonderful girl. She loves people, kids, cats, other dogs. She has very basic obedience skills and is housetrained. She has been spayed, is up to date on vaccines, treated and cured of heartworm disease, and on monthly heartworm and flea preventative. She is a loyal dog and a great friend. Her only issue is that she has a condition called Transmissible Venereal Tumor, which is inoperable, but treatable with chemo. Without treatment, it may or may not spread. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to do so. With this condition, it is recommended that Sophie be an “only” dog, as other dogs could possibly be at risk of getting it. 12/5/2011

London: is about two years old and small for a Saint (about 85 lbs.). She is an exceptionally sweet, well-mannered dog with a happy, easy-going personality. She knows basic obedience and can sit and stay and walks well on a leash. London does well with children and enjoys playing with other dogs. London is a cuddler and loves to sit next to you on the couch with her head in your lap (and will try to worm her way into your bed!). London tested negative for heartworms. 12/5/2011

Ali: is an 18 month old, long hair, female Saint that was picked up as a stray and never claimed from the local animal shelter. She weighs 104 lbs. and will likely get a little bigger as she is still growing. She has a very soft coat. She has been spayed and micro-chipped. She is heart-worm negative and up to date on her shots. Ali gets along well with other dogs big and small. She has not met any cats yet, but is interested in them from a distance. She is a little timid meeting strangers, but warms up quickly and is very friendly. She has not met any young children. At her foster home Ali is learning some basic commands, sit, stay, down, and is learning to walk well on a leash. She is smart, a fast learner, and eager to please. Ali needs a home where someone has the time and the patience to continue her training. She is a delightful young lady with a lot of love to give, and the potential to be a truly special life-long family member. 12/5/2011

Broseph: (?, Texas) will turn 2years old on May 25. He is 160-170. WONDERFUL with cats & very good with other dogs. He does not know how to walk on a leash or properly ride in a car. Bro is house trained & does bark at strangers but knows to be quiet when you tell him. He has never bit anyone & is cautious of strangers at first but warms up quickly. Bro has been neutered. 12/1/2011

Dakota: Sioux: Cora: Hildi: and Mitzi: These sweet Saint mix pups are approximately 5 months old and weigh up to 35 pounds. There are 5 females; Dakota, Sioux, Cora, Hildi and Mitzi. We are not sure what breed they are mixed with but think they look similar to Leonberger’s. They were outdoor dogs before coming to rescue. The pups are learning potty training and putting on some weight. They are easy going and love attention. Do you have room in your heart and home for one of these precious girls? Update 10//21/2011; pups are 6 months and up to 55 pounds. 11/28/2011

Dakota Cora Hildi Mitzi Sioux

Katy: is about 3 years old. She is a beautiful young Saint. Katy seems to get along well with other dogs and is tolerant of cats. She loves attention, and would love a family with a fenced yard and room to play! Katy has been spayed, tested for heartworms and is current on her vaccines. She is being fostered in the DFW area. Katy was an adoption return after a year, through no fault of her own. Her family’s living situation changed, and they were no longer able to keep her. She deserves a new family of her own to treat her like the “princess” she thinks she is! 11/27/2011

GUTHRIE: Say hello to this big old loveable boy. He is 8 years old, weighs about 165 pounds and can’t get enough of loving. He loves to be around his people and naps whenever possible. It must be noted, Guthrie does snore!!! He is sweet, loving, willing to please. He gets along with everybody and everything. 11/26/2011

Izzy: I’m Izzy, fluffy, loveable and fun! I am 9 months old and am growing into a fine young woman. My foster parents have loved me sooo much. They have crate trained me and taught me how to sit. I still give them trouble with “come” but if you clap your hands, that works sometimes. I also know to lay down if you touch the floor because I like my belly rubbed. I am fixed and well socialized with other dogs. I have also been around small children so I know we get along (outside of me knocking them over from time to time). I have to find a new home due to a move. I won’t have a yard and i like to run. Plus the landlord says i am to big. I am waiting to be your best friend. I promise to love you. I love attention and I can’t wait to hang out with you! 11/26/2011

Zoey: Is 6-7 months old. We first want to let you know she loves car rides. Her second favorite thing is a walk. For a puppy she walks fantastic on a lead. She is a very gentle natured girl who loves people and other dogs. She will make a great addition to any family. She is fully vetted and ready for adoption. 11/26/2011

Polly: Shorthaired female – 9 years old. Polly came from the puppy mill and has had more puppies than most of us can count. She is wonderful and loves any attention that is offered. She has found out about sleeping inside where it’s warm and has no intention of ever going out again. A very special home is needed for this older lady. 11/20/2011

Tonka: is a very handsome five year old well-bred St. Bernard who would do best with someone with Saint experience. He has been around other dogs when he goes to the PetsMart Hotel however, he has lived as an only “child” since he was a puppy so someone committed to socializing him is also needed. 11/20/2011

Chewbacca: Say hello to Chewbacca. Chewy is a 21 month old male saint. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and will be started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Chewy lived in a home with a small child and is good with all people. He has not had much exposure to other dogs and is a little scared when first meeting them, but we will work on his social skills while he is here. Cats are unknown at this time, but we will test him with cats while he is here with us and update on the encounter. Chewy walks well on a leash and is used to a gentle leader head harness when out and about. He is also crate trained and housebroken. Chewy would fit well with most families. A fenced in yard is preferred, but not mandatory. I’m sure he will find a home very quickly. 11/20/2011

Buddy: is a 3 year old saint mix…we think he may be mixed with Shepherd. He is a very sweet and loving guy. He loves people of all ages and other dogs. He LOVES the water and plays in it all the time with his other rescue buddies. In the pictures he is playing with little Violet and his other buddy is Roxanne who went to her forever home. 11/18/2011

Boozer: is eight months old. He came from a home with small dogs that he wanted to play with…they didn’t want to play with him though. He is a big goof ball that loves to play, loves water and playing with other dogs. You can see him in the photos playing with his fellow rescue buddy Violet. He lived with young children in his previous home. 11/18/2011

Charlie: is around 3 years old and was found abandoned in the backyard of a home that had been vacant for one year. Someone put him in the yard knowing no one lived there. Charlie is a very sweet and gentle saint. Since he is so new to the rescue, he hasn’t visited with his rescue buddies yet, so we don’t yet know how he is around other dogs but will update that info soon. 11/18/2011

Bear: is our gentleman saint and he has very polite manners. Bear would like a female friend to play with or he wouldn’t even mind being the only dog in the house. Because of Bear’s large size, he would do best with kids over ten years of age. He is a very easy going guy who loves belly rubs and being by your side. 11/18/2011

Carter: I’m Carter, a longhaired neutered male. I was found as a stray and turned over to rescue via a shelter. I was a scared skinny boy of about 18 mos to 2 years of age. My foster mom finally figured out what my main problem was. I need and must remain on a grain free food for the rest of my life. Food is available at most stores and not hard to find. I love women and when I trust them, men are fine also. I get along with other dogs and love to play. I must have had a very hard puppyhood so looking for a family that will give me my forever home. I do know how to sit but some obedience classes will benefit all. 11/16/2011

Lacie: Lacie is a very friendly sweet girl, she is small for a Saint, she currently weighs 98 lbs. she has heart worm and is currently under treatment for that. If the new owner would like to take over her treatment the cost is @ $ 50.00 per month, and we would discount that from the adoption fee. She is showing now signs of being sick and loves to play! She is good with other dogs. 11/14/2011

Rocco: is a 22 month old rough coat male. He was released to us from his owner who couldn’t take care of him anymore. Rocco is a sweet mellow boy that loves attention, going for car rides and hanging out at the beach. We got him neutered and all his vaccines and gave him a much needed bath. He is great with people, loves belly rubs, and is fine with all dogs big and small. Now all Rocco needs is a loving family that will give him the love and attention that he deserves. 11/14/2011

PETE: is 2 yr old neutered male from owner surrender. Owner had to move due to divorce and unable to keep both St’s (she did keep her 10 yr old St) He is a typical laid back St that is looking for a home. He is use to kids and other dogs and looking for a new forever home. 11/11/2011

Willow: is a 2 yr old with all the great traits of a St in a smaller body. About 75 # , she was having trouble in the kennel at the shelter, but doing well in her foster homes. She is very cuddly and loves to give kisses. Gets along with dogs of all sizes and breeds. She was shaved by her previous owner (not recommended) has not been tested with cats . She sleeps on the living room floor or her very own dog bed, but would prefer a forever home. 11/11/2011

Pearl Angel Freight Train Snuggle Buggle Sunshine Tinkerbelle

Buddy Boy: is a two year old pure Saint. He is house trained and neutered. He loves kids and cats and lots of attention! He also loves to play! A home with only one other dog is best for Buddy. He gets along very well with other dogs but may get overwhelmed with a bunch of other dogs. 11/8/2011

NEMO: say hello to this 6 to 7 month-old male puppy. These pictures were taken right as he was picked up by our rescue. He has since been bathed and groomed. Dirty or not, you can see he is simply adorable! He has a rough coat (long hair), splash coloring (looks like splotches of brown have been dropped or splashed on to the white fur. He is real sweetheart. He is getting his shots up to date and being neutered next week and will be available for adoption by about the 10th of October. He loves car rides, belly rubs, and can’t get enough of playing, playing, playing! He appears to be house-trained. He does understand the international dog command, “cookie”. He does need some work on socialization and walking on a leash. He is just adorable and once he grows and is trained, he will make somebody a beautiful lifelong companion. Experience with large breeds will definitely be helpful if you are considering adopting Nemo. 11/8/2011

MATHILDA: (Stratham, NH) Just two years old, little Mathilda found herself in a municipal shelter when her humans hit a financial bump in the road and lost their housing. The shelter’s staff members are VERY kind and caring people but they recognize that, like some dogs, Mathilda is stressed in a kennel environment. They fear she’ll decompensate and they don’t want her to be “ruined.” She’s a delightful girl who sorely misses being part of a family. She’s spayed, vaccinated, housetrained, microchipped, heartworm-negative, and has been started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She has no health issues; however, it wouldn’t hurt her to gain a few pounds. Mathilda knows a few basic commands and is not at all destructive when left alone. Though she has good leash manners in general, and is quite friendly toward strangers, she’s a social young girl who tends to pull eagerly when she sees another dog. She’s friendly with larger dogs but isn’t crazy about little dogs. And she’s not at all a fan of cats. Mathilda will need a traditional fenced yard, and she’d like a family with teen-aged kids. She enjoys riding in the car and she LOVES water. Swimming, bathing, being sprayed with a hose — doesn’t matter to her. Won’t you give this little cutie a chance? 11/6/2011

Paddington: (Houston, TX) Paddington is a 6 year old Saint that needs a new home. He is housetrained and very lovable with the family he knows and trusts, but is wary of strangers. He is a dominant temperament dog, and will bully other dogs for food and treats, so while he currently lives with another dog (and used to live with a cat too), Paddington would prefer to be the “only” dog in his new home. Paddington had hip dysplasia from early on, and so he had hip replacement as a puppy. He now seems to do fine with movement and playing. Paddington has not had a lot of interaction with strangers, as his current family has kept him rather secluded from others because he is selective of who he likes. Paddington is located in the Pearland area of TX, outside of Houston. 10/31/2011

Howie: is a 2 yo neutered male rough coat. He was abandoned on some property in Coastal Ga. At 137.5 pounds he is about 30-40 pounds underweight. Howie is chilling at the Rescata for a week or so before he goes to Obedience school. He knows his basic commands, but needs some fine tuning on leash walking. Check back for updates on Howie. 10/30/2011

Sophie1: is a 2 1/2 year old female rought coat. Her father was a st bernard and her mother a great pyrenees. She looks like a saint with the thick coat of a pyr, so she will need regular grooming to maintain her coat. Sophie is a sweet girl and loves all people, but she adores children. She is good with other dogs and seems to do ok with cats. She lived with a small dog in her previous home, but would love a larger canine companion to play with. Sophie needs a little bit of leash training as she likes to pull, but she does know all her other basic commands. She can be quite the drooler, so those faint of heart may think twice. Sophie would love a large fenced in yard to play in and/or be taken on daily walks to get her energy out. She is a good girl in the house and goes through little spurts of playfulness and then will lay quietly at your feet. Sophie is spayed, up to date on her shots, and on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. 10/29/2011

Jeter: Hi! I’m Jeter (rhymes with Peter), a 3 year old neutered male. I am back in rescue after my adopted family found out they couldn’t keep me. I’m a real good boy though and I get along with everyone. I like kids, cats, and dogs. I am a big boy even for a Saint but I’m as gentle as they come. Will you be my forever home? 10/26/2011

BOGART: Hi there! My name’s Bogart and I’m almost three years old. I’m a roughcoat (longhair) and I’m ready to join your family. They tell me I’m neutered, (guess my baby-making days are over), vaccinated, dewormed, negative for heartworm, and I’ve been microchipped. I like other dogs. Can’t remember if I’ve ever met a cat but my foster mom thinks I’ll probably be a gentleman around them. I absolutely LOVE going in the car. If I hear the slightest jingle of car keys I’ll beat you to the door. If YOU’RE going in the car, I’M going in the car. Case closed. I also like to go for walks, and I don’t mind the occasional dip in the lake or river or pool. I’m a pretty enthusiastic eater but I’m not real treat-motivated, though I wouldn’t pass up the occasional small piece of steak. (Hey, mama didn’t raise no stupid dogs.) My family’s divorce landed me in Rescue and I’m waiting not-so-patiently for a new family to come and choose me. Is that you? I really want to give (and get) hugs again. My foster folks would strongly prefer me to have a fenced yard but I promise to try my best to stick close at hand if you don’t have a fence as long as you don’t ever leave me outside unsupervised. 10/26/2011

SOFIA: Sofia is a VERY sweet three-year-old cutie who recently came into our program. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm-negative, and housetrained. She had a tough early life and was found abandoned and alone, tired and weak, and quite skinny. However, she is eating like a little piglet and will soon be back at her appropriate weight. Obviously someone let her down but she still trusts humans, though we can’t imagine why. She enjoys the company of other dogs, riding in the car and playing in her own little pool. She has lots of energy so a fenced yard is essential. Prior Saint experience will be a plus. And kids should be over age 6 or so. 10/26/2011

BOY: (Maryland) is a 10 month old male. He is crate trained, walks on a leash well, and gets along with other dogs and kids. He is a beautiful boy. He has developed some protective tendencies. His owner can give you a complete descriptionof thie handsome dog. 10/25/2011

Suki: she is one year old and is a saint mix. Mom was a saint who got out of the yard and came back pregnant and wasn’t telling anyone who the dad was. Suki loves other dogs and especially people. She lived with a nine month old girl who adored her. She is very playful, housetrained and needs some training on the leash. Suki loves the water and playing with her BFF Violet. Want a saint but not the longer hair and not much drool? Suki is the one for you 10/25/2011

Mia: is a Longhaired female that is about four years old. She was returned to rescue as her owner joined the service. Mia is a very sweet girl and per her previous owner, is good with cats and dogs when introduced properly She is housebroken, spayed and up to date on shots. She doesn’t do well with strangers as she will protect her family. She came from a home with two small children. She loves to run if you need a partner and will snuggle with you at home. Do you have room in your home for a devoted friend? Mia is doing exceptionally well with some obedience training. She is heeling off lead, staying and coming on a recall. She is definitely ready for advanced obedience for the right interested family. 10/22/2011

Mikey: When my owners decided to move, they thought my fate was best served in the hands of strangers. You see, they simply opened the door and let me loose. I wandered away and was picked up by a nice lady. I have a timid personality so my first few days at the shelter were very traumatic for me. My owners left my collar and tags on so the shelter was able to call them to come pick me up. I really thought it was my lucky day!!! Sadly, the cold hard truth came out. But then the nice lady from ISBR came and rescued me. Boy was I scared!!! My foster brothers and sister scared the you-know-what out of me! The lady was even scary too then! But after a couple of hours I realized my new home wasn’t so bad and I became a show off. I can sit pretty and I won’t move a muscle until I get a treat. I take them really nice too. I love my foster brothers and sister. I even like the foster felines too. I don’t get on the furniture and I have never had an accident. I wonder why they gave me away? Maybe it’s because I’m really shy with meeting new people in new environments. In my own house, you’re always welcome. When I met my foster dad for the first time I ran right up to him. I guess I need a family that has Saint Bernard experience. Who understands I need time meeting new people and I need time to adjust to new places. I’m not too sure about a family with little ones since at 15 months I’m just a baby myself and learning new things everyday. Are you the right family for me? 10/21/2011

Maisy: Boy! I sure cost my owner a lot of money. If they would of just stopped letting me roam the streets and were good dog owners. But, alas, I lost my final get out of jail free card and they didn’t come to get me. I am a very sweet 2-3 year old female. I am housebroken and working daily on my leash manners. I love other dogs, I’m great with cats, I love children…..I guess I would make a great addition to any family! I’m a social butterfly and I’m wonderful with everyone I meet. I love a good car ride and I ride like a dream! I love to run and play in my foster mom’s yard and I love toys and treats. What can I say, I’m perfect! 10/21/2011

Hobbs: Meet Hobbs He is 4 yrs old and just a big love bug. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and wormed. He is housebroke, crate trained, and is fabulous on leash. Gets along with everyone. He wants to be a speed bump on the carpet and be fed dog treats loves his cookies. Like to play with toys and he even fetches when he feels like it!! Needs a family of his own. 10/21/2011

WALTER: Not quite one year old, this handsome little fellow is Walter, a roughcoat (longhaired) yound dude who looks like a shorthair because he was so heavily matted that he needed to be shaved. He’s still trying to figure out where his humans went. (They brought him to the vet’s office and never went back for him.) What fools. He is neutered, MOSTLY housetrained, vaccinated, heartworm-negative and microchipped. Walter is a sweet young boy who has lots of puppy energy. (Saints are considered “puppies” until around age 2-1/2 years.) He reportedly gets along with other dogs but has yet to be tested with a cat. he loves playing with kids, though we’d recommend that kids be at least age 8 or 9. He enjoys going for walks and holds his head up proudly as if he knows how handsome he is. Like most of our under-age-one-year doggies he will need formal obedience training as a condition of his adoption contract. We want a traditional fenced yard for Walter. As for him, he just wants someone to snuggle with. Saint experience will be a plus. Don’t miss the chance to meet him! 10/19/2011

Sancho: (Abilene, TX) Sancho is a 3.5 year old (approximately) neutered male Boxer mix (guessing breed) that weighs about 50 lbs. He was found as a puppy in a bar’s trash can, covered in mange and cigarette burns, and rescued by a family that unfortunately can no longer keep him. Sancho is afraid of smoke and fireworks, and is not good with livestock, as he has a high prey drive. He likes small female dogs, but is not okay with other male dogs. Sancho loves children, and enjoys spending some time lounging on the couch, as well as going for car rides. He is also a good birder, squirrel chaser, mouser and toad catcher! Sancho is housetrained, and enjoys being “dressed up.” He is fine with his current family’s indoor housecat, but outdoor cats are fair game in his mind. 10/18/2011

BERNICE: is a beautiful short-haired (smooth coat) Saint Bernard. She is thought to be about 4 years old. She weighs about 115 pounds and needs to put on a few more pounds to bring her to a good healthy size. She is spayed and up to date with all her shots. She is just the sweetest dog ever! Bernice wants somebody to love her because she has so much doggy love to give. Super affectionate, loves everybody, and can’t wait for a home of her own. 10/17/2011

Beethoven: This is one for the record book for Mid-Atlantic Saint Bernard Rescue. In my years of doing rescue work with Saint Bernards I do not recall such a case of neglect. This animals condition shook us to our core. The good news we were given the opportunity to help put him back together, and we are! Beethoven is a wonderful dog despite the awful life he has had. It is our turn to help him get the medical care he needs, as well as a wonderful new home. If you would like to donate to Beethoven’s fund please mail a donation designated for him to Mid-Atlantic Saint Rescue P.O. Box 93 Woodbine Md 21797. We are on the process of assessing his needs and condition. We thank you for your support. 9/16/11-update. Beethoven’s background (many have called and asked) He was found laying on the side of the road. Animal control was called. He had been there a while and when he saw them he got up and went a few steps and fell down. There is a good possibility he was hit By a car. Although that cannot be confirmed, however that is the likely scenario based on his condition. He had clearly been on the run and on his own for a while. His coat was caked in mud and blood. The mud from where he was sleeping and the blood from who knows. He is up and around, and hopefully the orthopedic injuries are going to be minor. Also he is younger than we first thought. He is estimated to be between 2-3 years old. What a sweetheart for all he has been through. He is enjoying the TLC he is receiving. Update 9/30. Beethoven is doing great! These are his updated photos. He will be in the hospital for approx 5 more days. He has clearly had a tough life. What a lovable teddy bear and we are not just saying that. Hugs and sitting on laps are his favorite thing. He will make someone a best buddy. 10/12/2011

With Doctor

Bella: Is apprx. 4-5 years old and is a cutie pie. As you can see she is a rough coat (long Hair) Splash Coat Saint Bernard. She was found as a stray in Southern Virginia, and Thanks to a good hearted vet she was taken off the streets. She is a wonderful girl who loves big dogs so she can play and have fun. She is currently fostered with a lab and a boxer. She is not sure about small dogs so we do not recommend she go with small creatures. All big dogs are Bella’s buddies. She came in to the vet clinic thin, down on her luck, and concerned where her next meal was coming from. She has blossomed into a fantastic Saint Bernard. She had benign tumors removed from her mammary glands and is fully recovered. A big Thanks You to Mandy, the veterinarian who took her time, expertise, and own money to help Bella. She is fully vetted and ready for adoption. Please do not hesitate to make her part of your family. She is truly an awesome girl! 10/12/2011

Rose: we believe her to be around 3 years old. She was found with four other saints wandering in the desert very dirty, smelly and thin. She has a jagged tooth and some worn teeth that looks like she chewed her way out of what was probably an awful place going by her condition. She is on the small size and a very loving girl. She is putting weight now and cleaned up so nicely that she smells and looks like a beautiful rose. 10/10/2011

Louie: is a 3 year old handsome smooth coat. He is a big boy at about 150 pounds. He gets along well with dogs and cats, and lived with kids in his previous home. Louie does have some separation anxiety and would love to be adopted by someone that works from home or a family that has a stay at home parent. A fenced in yard is preferred, but not mandatory as long as he gets regular on leash exercise. Louie is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, and will be started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. 10/10/2011

Teddy: is a 2 year old male rough coat. He was released to us from a lady that got him off the internet just before his previous owners where going to drop him off at the local shelter. Teddy is a sweet boy that loves attention, going for car rides and just hanging out with you. He is house trained, neutered, current on all his vaccines and gets along with other dogs. Now all Teddy needs is a loving family that will give him the love and attention that he deserves. 10/6/2011

Anna Belle: Meet Annabelle She is 2 yrs old and full of love. She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and wormed. She is housebroke, crate trained, and is doing well on leash. Gets along with other dogs and cats wants to play. Needs a family of her own with plenty of belly rubs. 10/5/2011

Tobin: a longhaired approximate three year old male. Tobin came to us via a shelter and was in horrible condition. He definitely needed to be fed and he is gaining weight nicely while in foster care but has a way to go. He is such a good boy – loves all people that he meets and does well with other dogs. He has had some obedience training as he comes, sits and stays when told and does well off leash. He loves to play fetch and of course, loves his car rides. He is also good around livestock. Tobin is crate trained and is housebroken. Sounds like the perfect dog!! Do you have room in your family for a boy that deserves more out of life than what he has experienced so far? 10/5/2011

Alchemy: Say hello to Alchemy. His friends and family call him Al. He is a loveable 15 month old male Saint Bernard. Like all Saints, he loves everybody and enjoys being near this family. Al won’t pass up a good game of football or frisbee. He is house-trained and up to date on his shots. He weighs in at about 125 pounds. His previous owners have taken great care of his long hair and he is in beautiful condition, being brushed at least once a day. He has an allergy to corn and must eat food that does not contain corn. He is currently being fed food called “Solid Gold” and this agrees with him. Like lots of Saints, he enjoys eating vegetables and fruits. He is a loveable big boy who hopes that you consider giving him a place in your home and in your heart. 10/2/2011

BUDDY: 3 yr. old, long haired, neutered male. Buddy is a friend to Beatrice – rescued together. He is a gentleman, loves everyone and gets along with everyone. Housebroken and some obedience training. Buddy loves to ride in the car and play with toys. 9/28/2011

KANDY: 2 yr. old, long haired, spayed female. Kandy is a little lady. Gets along well with cats and people. Needs work to get along with other dogs. Best as only dog in house. She is house broken and obedience trained. Rescued from a hoarding situation. She needs love and kisses. 9/28/2011

Hansel: & Gretl: 4 yr. old, long haired, neutered male & his wife? sister? best friend – 2 yr. old, long haired, spayed female. This pair came in together and we would love to adopt them to a forever home together. No cats, please. Very sweet & loving with all people. 9/28/2011

JoJo: is a male rough coat that just turned 2yrs old last May. He was released to us from his owner who couldn’t take care of him anymore. JoJo is a sweet mellow boy that loves attention but could use some obedience training. We got him neutered and all his vaccines and gave him a much needed bath. He is great with people, loves belly rubs, and is fine with all dogs big and small. Now all JoJo needs is a loving family that will give him the love and attention that he deserves. 9/27/2011

Zena: (Wisconsin) is a 16 month old female st. bernard mix. She is very loving and looking for a home where she has room to run. She loves getting her belly scratched and believes if you have a free hand you should be petting her. She gets along fine with other dogs. She just recently stopped chewing. My sister and brother in law rescued her and They thought they could handle having 3 st. bernards but it is proving to be too much. To many dogs and not enough time. Zena needs to go to a home where she will not be in a kennel 24/7. She is adapting to house life very well, she enjoying sleeping on her bed in the living room. Zena isn’t abused or neglected but does need to find a new home. She is also great with young kids. 9/25/2011

Zoey: is a 18 month old spayed female Saint . She is good family dog and does well with kids , cat and dogs . Her family has gotten too busy to give her the attention she deserves. Up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative & flea medication. Loves to hang out on the couch when not getting attention directly. 9/25/2011

Mack: is 4 years old male. He has a very funny personality, loves to be play and be chased even though he isn’t very fast. He loves to go for walks. He walks right at your side. He grew up with 3 children now 13, 11 and 9 years old, he couldn’t be more gentle with them. Unfortunately the family’s hectic schedules don’t leave enough time to spend with him. He has also become scared of a few boys that are relatives of ours and are emotionally disturbed. He has never bit anyone but it is a situation I would like to avoid in the future. Mack is a great dog and has a very fun personality. He just needs a home where he can get the attention he deserves. 9/25/2011

Otis: is a sweet, mellow 8 year old neutered male Saint. He is housebroken, and gets along great with other dogs and cats. Otis isn’t a big fan of the outdoors-he will go outside to do his “business”, but much prefers to lay on the sofa and snooze the day away. He also does not care for thunderstorms or gunfire (he had a very traumatic puppyhood, which is probably why -he was starved nearly to death and abandoned in a parking lot). Otis has to be kept on the thin side, as he has some arthritis in his hips, and should not carry around alot of extra weight. He eats twice a day, and currently also takes thyroid medication (inexpensive) twice a day. Otis will be ready for adoption soon, once he gets an ear infection cleared up. He will do best in a quiet, sedentary family with older children. He likes attention and affection, but is also content just to be “near” his people. Otis is heartworm negative and current on all his vaccines. 9/22/2011

Hank: This 2 year old is very sweet, well behaved and gets along great with other dogs. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Hank is looking for a home where he can receive all the attention he deserves. 9/21/2011

Roxanne: is approximately 2 years old. She is generally a quiet girl, but has her moments when she really loves to romp and play. Gets along with other dogs, loves to go on walks and a nice head rub. She is pictured here with two of her fellow rescue buddy’s. 9/20/2011

Show Low: She just turned one year old and is a shorthaired saint. Show Low is a very loving girl who came from a home as the only dog and was loved by a 3 year old girl. She is still a puppy energy wise but has very nice house manners. She gets excited to first meet you and wants to be in your lap or laying beside you but calms right down after a few ear and belly rubs. 9/20/2011

BELLISIMA: Just six months old and VERY pretty, little Bellisima is quite a spitfire. She has lots of energy and runs like the wind. A smoothcoat (shorthaired) pup, she’s up-to-date on vaccinations, housetrained, HW-negative, and scheduled to be spayed within the week. Bella is friendly with most other dogs but has never met a cat. She has been with children aged 4-5 years. She likes playing with a ball and hanging with her family. Bella came to us when her humans had to move and the landlord wouldn’t permit giant-breed dogs. She’s playful and friendly and just an all-round delightful young lady, though she’ll definitely need some work on leash manners. Her wish list includes another dog to share playtime, and maybe some kids with whom to play fetch. If you have a traditional wooden or chain-link fenced yard and your family includes a stay-at-home parent, we’d love to introduce you to her. 9/19/2011

DALIA: This charming young lady is Dalia, a roughcoat (longhaired) girl who just celebrated her second birthday on the Fourth of July. Dalia recently came to us via an affiliation with a terrific rescue organization in Kuwait. In that country daytime temperatures hover at or near 130 degrees six months of the year. We’re sure you’d agree that such is definitely NOT the climate for a Swiss mountain snow dog! She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, housetrained, and negative for heartworm and screw-worm (not an uncommon condition in the Middle East). She recently arrived in her newly adopted country after a long flight, came out of her crate, and looked around as if to say “Okay, let’s get on with it. I’m trusting you to find me a new family.” And that’s our goal. We’re very happy to welcome her to her new life in America and very much thank her wonderful caretaker, Ayeshah El-Humaidhi, for accompanying her to our shores. Dalia even has her own passport. She’s affectionate and adventurous and trusting, and has wonderful manners. She loves kids and plays nicely with most other dogs. She has not been cat-tested but there’s no reason to assume she wouldn’t coexist peacefully with a feline. We’d like her to have a traditional fenced yard. Come and meet our little world traveler! 9/19/2011

JASPER: Say hello to Jasper. Isn’t he handsome, with his half-masked face? He’s not quite a year old and still has lots of puppy fuzz. He’s a longhaired splash-coat boy who is neutered, housetrained, vaccinated, microchipped, and HW-negative. He even knows a few commands. Though Jasper’s enjoying his vacation here at Camp Saint Rescue, he would dearly like a family of his very own. Jasper came to us because of allergies in his original family. He’s a big fan of stuffies and hard rubber chew toys. We want him to have a tradtional fenced yard or an experienced owner who will not allow him to be off-leash unsupervised. He’d like to be the family’s only dog and wouldn’t mind having some kids to scratch his belly. 9/19/2011

ROMEO: and JULIET: Say hello to these two little charmers. Aren’t they cute? Romeo and Juliet are sweet and affectionate smoothcoats (shorthaired) who just had their first birthday on April 6th. (In the pictures, Romeo’s the one attached to a red leash.) They’ve been together their whole lives and ideally they would like to stay together if possible. They’re already spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and they tested negative for heartworm. Romeo has a minor eye condition called “cherry eye” which will be surgically corrected before placement. We’re working on housetraining but they’re smart pups who will pick it up quickly. Both are big fans of tummy rubs, car rides, and doggie cookies. They do well with children and with other dogs and will probably be okay with cats (though they haven’t met a cat here at Camp Saint Rescue). Interested in TWO love-sponges? That’s twice the cuddling. And the only thing better than one Saint is two Saints. The successful applicant will have a traditional fenced yard. 9/19/2011

Kalin: is a 3yo spayed female smooth coat. She was left behind when her owners were evicted. Kalin is very friendly and sweet. 9/19/2011

Moses: is a 3 year old neutered male. He is a short-haired (smooth coat) St. Bernard. He is sadly being given up for adoption due to some issues his family is having. He is wonderful with children and other animals. He is very well behaved and walks well on a leash. He is current on all vaccines and takes Iverhart and Comfortis. He is loveable and huggable. He loves to run figure-of-eights in the backyard. You could not ask for a more sweet saint. 9/15/2011

Wilson: Wilson is looking for a home that he can be in forever. He is great with kids and loves car rides. He is a big boy and will require a fenced yard as he like to sometimes take a stroll. Make sure you have a comfy dog bed as he like his afternoon nap. He is up to date on all vetcare and ready to go. Won’t you please consider him to be your new best buddy. Being the big dog he thinks he is, he feels small dogs get on his nerves, so no small dogs or cats. Otherwise he is a lovebug. He walks well on a leash and is very gentle. 9/15/2011

Mylee: Meet Mylee, a 19 month old Longhaired female. Mylee loves to play with the other dogs and thinks life is wonderful. She is a little afraid of people to start with due to lack of socialization but is readily changing her outlook thanks to cookies! 9/12/2011

Koda: Hi! I’m Koda. My family had to give me up because they did not have time for me. I am a big lovable guy who can use some obedience training. I have a good disposition with people. I think I should be an only dog, because I am a little edgy right now about having another dog in my space. I am living with two female dogs, and I am doing ok. I am fine with meeting any strange dog that does not live with me. I have LOTS of love to give and cannot wait for my new family!! 9/10/2011

Mr. GQ: Longhair neutered male Saint Bernard. He is about approximately 1 1/2 years old. Good with other dogs and a real sweetheart. Young is in need of more training. 9/7/2011

Savannah: is a 3-4 year old rough coat female Saint. Well, she would be if she had any hair, that is! As you can see from Savannah’s photos, life hasn’t been kind to her. The hair loss is due to severe flea infestation. She hasn’t had many meals lately either. The shelter called and said “this one is in really rough shape”, so a volunteer went to see her at the shelter, and with one look into those trusting brown eyes, pleading for help, it was a done deal. We’d find a foster home somewhere in the program-we had to. Savannah only weighs in at about 75lbs now, but her “fattening” up process has already begun in her foster home, with 4 daily meals to start. Savannah appears to be housebroken, so maybe someone loved her for a time, before she was dumped out on the streets to fend for herself. She has been vaccinated, tested for heartworms (she tested negative-yeah!), dewormed, and treated for the fleas since arriving in rescue. Once she puts on some weight, Savannah will be spayed. And hopefully, in a few months, Savannah will be big and beautiful, like the Saint she deserves to be! 9/6/2011

Hunk: Hunk is a very loving dog, we are told he is house broken. He is good with other dogs. and likes car rides. He came in with his Mom & Dad and would like to be placed with them if possible, but it is not required. He is neutered and heart worm free. He is a very sweet boy. 9/5/2011

Sweetie: she was named Sweetie because she is just that – Super Sweet. She gives you kisses every chance she gets and tries to push her head between your legs in the hope you never let her go. As soon as someone shows some interest in her, she goes all wiggly, cuddly, and kissy – she just wants someone to love her. Sweetie is around fifteen months old and a little clumsy because she gets so excited that she forgets where her feet are. Sweetie is shown with her best rescue buddy “Rayo”. 9/5/2011

Prudence: is around 4 years old. She came into rescue when her owner had a heart attack and could no longer care for her. She knows all her basic commands and is a very sweet and loving girl. She loves to run around the play yard as fast as she can and will fly by you but will never knock you over. 9/5/2011

SusieQ: is a 2 year old female smooth coat that we rescued over the weekend. She is a sweet girl that loves attention and is great with other dogs big and small. SusieQ is spayed, current on all her vaccines and is house trained. She still acts like a puppy, very playful and loves car rides. So now all SusieQ needs is a loving family to give her the attention and love that she deserves plus she could use some basic obedience training. 9/4/2011

Penny: is a 1 year old female Saint/Collie mix rough coat that was released to us by her owner. She is a sweet girl that loves attention and is great with other dogs big and small. Penny is spayed, current on all her vaccines but being she is still a puppy and full of energy we recommend basic obedience training. So now all Penny needs is a loving family to give her the training, exercise, and lots love that she deserves. 9/4/2011

Bryan: is a young 10 month old male rough coat. He was released to us from his owner who lost his home and couldn’t take care of him anymore. Bryan is a handsome boy that loves attention and full of energy so we recommend obedience training. We got him neutered and all his vaccines and gave him a much needed bath. He is great with people, loves belly rubs, and is fine with all dogs big and small. Now all Bryan needs is a loving family that will give him the love and attention that he deserves. 9/4/2011

Bennie: Shorthaired male Saint Bernard – Approximately 2 years of age. Came into rescue as a stray so no information from previous owner is available. He is a very sweet dog and gets along with people. Is an active boy without much training so obedience is a must. Do not know about cats or other dogs as of yet. Is neutered and up to date on shots and is heartworm negative. 9/3/2011

Katie: Katie came to MN in tough shape. She is underweight and and undergoing treatment for heartworm. When that is done we can focus on her skin. But she doesn’t seem bothered by any of this. She is a playful girl and loves to learn. She listens to her foster mom so well-it is amazing. They are working on all kinds of commands and tricks and Katie loves it. She is truly a diamond in the rough. 9/3/2011

Jade: was in bad shape when she came to her current temporary home. She has diabetes and needs special medical care and a special diet. Currently she requires insulin injections twice daily on a regular 12 hr interval (currently 7 & 7- it can be adjusted to a different time but has to be done gradually). The dose depends on her urine glucose which is checked every couple of days (just hold a urine strip in the stream). Occasionally she will need blood levels checked. She is also on a special diet (Purina DCO) and cannot be fed a lot of extras as that will change her insulin requirement. Absolutely no table food. She has gained about 20 pounds now that she is getting good care and now weighs in at about 115-120 pounds. But Jade’s home is just a temporary stop to get well before finding a new permanent home where she will be loved and get the medical care that she needs on a daily basis. You will be greatly rewarded by this wonderful girl. If you have the experience it takes to provide for Jade’s medical needs, or are willing to work with your vet to get the training you will need to care for this gentle giant. 9/3/2011

Lolly: Meet Lolly She just turned 4 yrs old. Shorthair, full mask, tri color gorgeous girl. She is the perfect dog. Housetrained, spayed, wormed and all shots are current. She is in rescue through no fault of hers. Her last owners took ill and could no longer care for her. She walks well on the leash and is a positive cuddle bug. Gets along with dogs, cats, and older kids. Would like to see her go to a family that either has a stay at home person, or another dog to play with 8/30/2011

Belle: is 2.5 years old and a great girl who is looking for a forever home. She is a Saint Bernard Hound mix, who came into rescue pregnant. She is now ready for her forever home and would make a great friend. She likes to relax and lay in the sun after playing. Please come meet her you will not be disappointed we promise. 8/29/2011

Boomer: This is Boomer. He is a 15 week old Saint Bernard puppy who weighs about 38 pounds. He is going to be a big boy. He is long-haired (rough coat) and is marked beautifully. He is full of love and playfulness. He will need to go to someone with giant dog experience as he will need all the training done by the new owner. He is partially house-broken. He is just too cute. He loves belly rubs and any sort of affection as well as play time. The adoptive parent who gets him will have a truly beautiful Saint Bernard once he is full grown, and in the meantime, the cutest puppy you will ever see. 8/29/2011

Beau: is a 16 month old neutered male rough coat Saint. He is current on all vaccines, and tested negative for heartworms. Beau enjoys children and is tolerant of cats. He is being fostered near New Orleans, LA. Beau is a big boy, weighing in at around 155lbs. He is housebroken, and is very laid back. He’d like to be your new couch potato (if you don’t mind a little drool)! 8/28/2011

Elvis: We have a male Saint in our shelter. His name is Elvis, he is around 5 years old and neutered. I think owner brought papers in with him. Owner did not take great care of him, he has some skin issues gave him up because he was moving and could not take him. Elvis has been at the shelter a couple weeks. Can you help us with him or do you know of a rescue that can? 8/25/2011

Eli: (Indianapolis, IN.) We have a super sweet Saint Bernard here at Indianapolis Animal Care and Control. His name is Eli and he is microchipped and is about 5 years old. He has a good weight, his coat just needs some TLC. He is just about 100 pounds, but could use to gain some and appears to be housebroken. Our address is 2600 S. Harding Street, Indianapolis, IN. We always want our dogs to meet any other dogs that will be in the home and they will need to bring proof of rabies for any other pets they might have. 8/25/2011

Jr.: is a longhaired male that will be seven years old in July. He is the sweetest boy that anyone will ever find. He is content to lie in the yard and hope that the sun will come out. Jr. is Heartworm positive and is being treated. His previous owner turned him in as he was no longer able to care for him. He gets along with other dogs and not sure about cats. Will you be the lucky person to share your life with Jr.? 8/20/2011

Moose: (Roanoke, VA.) is a big boy who knows how to sit and shake. He does not do well with other dogs or cats, and will need a firm person to let him know who is boss! Moose has been evaluated by a trainer, and we strongly encourage his new family to continue his training sessions. He is staff favorite and has done well with guidance. 8/20/2011

Jackson: About Jackson; This darling 7 month old is full of energy. He is shy and will need his puppy training yet. He is not currently house trained. 8/20/2011

Kubota: A longhaired male that will be six years old this month. Kubota gets along well with other dogs, loves people and is learning to respect horses. Kubota just wants to be around people as much as possible. He is use to sleeping in the house at night and crates very well. In his previous home, Kubota was well cared for. As you can see in the pictures, he loves the water. If you are retired or work from home, Kubota would love to be a part of your family. 8/18/2011

Gypsi: a longhaired female that is about five years of age. She was turned into rescue as her previous owners didn’t have the time for her. Gypsi is a very sweet girl and so far in rescue hasn’t displayed any problems. She is spayed, up to date on shots, Heartworm negative and micro chipped. She does not like to be alone and per her previous owner, is good with visiting children. She gets along with other dogs when introduced properly. Is Gypsi to be your new family member? 8/18/2011

Daisy: is a female, rough coat Saint. She was found as a stray, covered with fleas, badly anemic and emaciated. Daisy is estimated to be 3-4 years old. She is housebroken, and gets along with other dogs, preferably males or very submissive females, as she seems to like to be the alpha female in the pack. Daisy loves children, and is gaining weight, but will never be a huge Saint. She will probably top out at 100-115 lbs (very dainty!). She is housebroken, and knows how to use a doggie door. Daisy did test positive for heartworms, and has been placed on preventative. She will be spayed once she puts on a few more pounds. Daisy is currently being fostered in the Austin, TX area. She needs a family to adopt her and treat her like the princess she is! 8/17/2011

Tex: Meet Tex – a longhaired male that is approximately 6 and a half to seven years of age. Tex is neutered and up to date on shots and is Heartworm negative. Tex is such a good boy and is looking for a home that is not real active. He gets along with other dogs but has a limit on his playtime. In his previous home, he enjoyed going to Doggie Day Care once a week. In other words, he will not do well with a very active dog as his companion. He would be fine with older children and will make an excellent companion. He loves his dog bed. Please consider Tex as your new family member. 8/17/2011

Beethoven: aka Benny is a 3 year old male rough coat that was released to us from another rescue. He was turned over to rescue by his owner because they lost their home. He is a big boy that is house trained and loves attention. Benny loves people, other dogs, neutered, micro chipped, and current on all his vaccines. Now all Benny needs is a loving family that will give him the love and attention that he deserves. 8/16/2011

Kiki: is a 3 year old female rough coat that we rescued from a local shelter after she was dumped on the streets. She is a sweet girl that loves attention and is great with other dogs big and small. Kiki is spayed, current on all her vaccines and has had a much needed bath. Her pictures where taken right after her bath so she is still somewhat wet but still very pretty. So now all Kiki needs is a loving family to give her the attention and love that she deserves. 8/16/2011

Beethoven: an 11.5 year old male who came into rescue when his owners lost their home. He is a total sweetheart in every sense of the word. He is quite spry for his ripe age. We are impressed with his energy level and he loves walks! We feel privileged to have the opportunity to help him find a new family. He gets along with other dogs and loves any treats with cheese. He is an true ambassador of the Saint Bernard Breed. 8/14/2011

Amos: is a sweet, male hound mix. He is housetrained and gets along with other dogs, cats and children. He is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. He loves milk bones! 8/14/2011

Angie: is a really sweet 10 month old. She housetrained and loves other dogs, kids and cats. She is an active dog as she is still a puppy but listens very well when you speak to her. This being said a home with a little bit older children is probably better as she is already 100lbs! She already knows sit and down and learns very quickly! She is extremely loving and follows anywhere you go! 8/14/2011

Humphrey: I am 5-6 yrs old. I would like a furrever home with a loving family who doesn’t have any other dogs or cats. I love walks and car rides are my favorite. I have even been invited to a book signing twice and I got more attention than the book. Everyone loved me. 8/14/2011

Birtha: and Duke: are 3 years old. Rescue wanted to help them after learning of their plight. They lost their home due to economic circumstances. A neighbor is presently taking care of them, but their time is limited there and we are seeking a forever home for them, however if you could foster them in the interim please let us know. They are sweet and have been together all their life. Please consider making them your new best buddies. 8/14/2011

Charlie: we can find a someone who is home the majority of the day as he loves to be with his family and doesn’t like staying home all day alone. Charlie is a good boy who gets along with other dogs. He loves to take walks too! Neutered, shots, microchip. 8/10/2011

BB: (Austin, TX) My name is B.B., and I am an 8 yr old, female, Saint Bernard/Australian Shepherd mix. I am looking for a new home because my owner is selling her house & moving in with family, and can no longer keep me. I’ve been with the same owner since I was 7 weeks old, so I’ve been well-cared-for. I love to be taken on walks, have my butt & belly scratched, and cuddle next to you while you are sitting on the couch or sleeping. I am very sweet and loving, and pretty low-key, but I get really excited and spunky when anyone pulls the leash out. I am 70 lbs., up-to-date on all my vaccinations, recently groomed, and just had my teeth cleaned. I’m in overall good health, but I do take thyroid medicine, Benadryl for allergies, and am on a special dog food for my bladder. I’m mostly an indoor dog, but I really love having a doggie door to go outside whenever I want to. I get along well with other dogs and cats, as well as older children. My best friend is a cat named Midnight (who is also looking for a new home, and would love to go with B.B. to the same home, if possible), but I grew up in a house with 3 other large dogs, so I’ll get along with just about anyone. As long as you pay some attention to me, I’m happy. I’m a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, I will love you. 8/8/2011

Sally: (Dallas, TX) is a 3 year old spayed, rough coat female. She is a smaller Saint, weighing about 100 lbs. Sally loves children and is housebroken. She is current on vaccines and heartworm prevention. Sally gets along with most other dogs, but can be a bit of a bully sometimes. She hasn’t been around cats. She gets shaved in the summer to keep her cool. Sally eats “Diamond” brand food. 8/8/2011

Vette: is a 4 year old female short haired saint. She is a very friendly girl who like treats and to be pet. She currently lives with two small dogs and used to live with a cat. Vette would love to be an inside dog and a cherished member of her family for years to come. Could that be you? Before adoption Vette will be spayed, up to date on vaccines, and started on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. 8/8/2011

Sara: is a 3 year old smooth coat (short hair) female saint. She is coming into rescue due to her family moving, and unfortunately she is unable to go with them. Sara is good with dogs, cats, and kids. She walks well on a leash and knows basic obedience. Sara is spayed, up to date on her shots, and will be maintained on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. 8/8/2011

Lady Jane: Here you see Lady Jane playing with her little friend Violet. Lady Jane is every bit the perfect lady. She loves people of all ages, dogs of all sizes, horse and even doves. At her previous home she kept watch over a momma dove and two of her babies. The momma dove trusted her so much that she would let Lady Jane curl up next to the nest. Come meet Lady Jane and don’t miss out on her because she is one special lady. 8/8/2011

Buddy: (Woodlands/Houston area, TX) Buddy is an 18 month old slipped-mask rough coat and currently weighs 140 pounds. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. He is wonderful with children, loves to cuddle and loves to be with people. Has a true rescue instinct, and plays rescue with the kids. (They hide and he finds them!) He is leash trained and loves to please. We have kept him contained within our 7 foot picket fence without any problems, and will stay behind a baby gate when trained to. He is housebroken, and uses a dog door. He is also trained to drink from a waterer on the spigot outside. He loves water, baths, brushing, and even being vacuumed. He will stand in the way of me vacuuming couches so that I will get to him. When he is around other dogs, he tends to be of a dominant personality, in that he loves to play with other dogs, but he pushes them away to get all the human attention. He is still very much a puppy in that he still chews things (like furniture) if not supervised. Buddy is currently located in the Woodlands/Houston area of TX. 8/6/2011

Chloe: We are happy that Jenni found her Furrever Friend from Mid-Atlantic Saint Rescue. This is her puppy who use to be “Frenchie” now is “Chloe”. Congratulations and keep us updated! 8/2/2011

She is Amazing

Princess: (Austin, TX) This is Princess and she is six years old. She is a rough coat Saint, but in the picture she has just had a hair cut to keep her cool. She is good with other dogs, cats and kids. She is has a very sweet disposition, but in the Texas heat, she is pretty lazy for the most part and enjoys her naps. I am taking an international job, and a good deal of the places we are looking to move don’t allow pets. My wife is currently at her wits end and wants to find a good home for Princess as soon as possible. Princess is a good dog and deserves better than we can provide for her at this time. Her vaccinations are currently up to date, she is in good health and she is spayed. Princess is located near the Austin, TX area. 8/2/2011

Cleo: This sweet 3 year old came to us after her owners left her behind at a suburban shelter when they moved. She is timid when meeting new dogs but quickly warms up. She is wonderful with people. She would prefer a no cat household. She would do best in a home with children over 10 years old as she could use a little training and could knock over a little one. She is a petite girl, weighing about 80 pounds. She is a roughcoat but does have a summer hair cut. She enjoys car rides, treats, and toys! She is learning to walk nicely on a leash and is learning how to meet new people in new places. A note from her foster mom: Sorry, I have been meaning to write you an update for days, but I had my 89 year old parents here for the past week for a wedding. My mother loves her. We walked my Saint and Cleo to Starbucks on Monday and she charmed all the people. She was still hyper alert, but this was a new situation. She has settled into home life and focuses on her bowl of food. Sometimes she finishes, sometimes she walks away, sometimes she waits for my Saint to walk away and eats some of hers. She no longer challenges anyone, now that she knows she will get enough. We had a lot of people in and out of the house this weekend and she did great! She still wants to chase anything the moves: squirrels, chipmunks, joggers, dogs walking by, birds on the lawn etc. I have to be ready for a real tug. She is comfortable choosing where she wants to sleep at night and we find her sleeping on her back which I take as a sign of ease. I think she is adoptable, she just needs love, security and a firm hand. She walks on a leash fine if not distracted with any of the above. She eats fine, is house broken and affectionate and is playful with our [old, slow] Saints who ignore her. Hope this helps. I would place Cleo with someone who can give her a little more training. 8/1/2011

Charlotte: I guess when my owners decided to down size, I got the short end of the stick. I ended up in a high kill facility but luckily ISBR was there to help me. In my previous life I lived with 4 children and another canine friend. I am very active and walk very well on a leash. I LOVE my crate and enjoy car rides. I am housebroken and I get along very well with my foster brother and sisters. I’m getting used to the feline members of my foster home but would prefer a life without the rantings of a cat. I am just 2 years old and can be a little overwhelming to smaller children so a home with children over 5 years old would be preferred. However, I do love children and miss my family. I am a real sweetheart and will make anyone a great dog! 8/1/2011

Stella: Need a best friend? Spend five minutes with Stella and shell be your friend for life. She looks adoringly into your face for direction and would do back flips if she knew it would make you happy. Stella learns tricks quickly because she is so eager to please. She walks very well on leash and doesn’t mind car rides. She’s fine around other dogs, though sometimes gets competitive when it comes to getting attention. She is fine around children and cats. Her previous owners fed her from their plates so she’s still getting used to eating dog food. She has some withdrawal anxiety because she’s bounced around between a few homes, but is getting better every day. She would love to be a devoted member of your family. She is about 4 years old and has a rough coat. 8/1/2011

Hodge: I’m a sweet boy about 4-5 years old, recently neutered and had a dental. I do have some damage to my teeth from chewing on a fence or cage, or chain, probably where I was once contained and finally escaped. I was found running at large in the country and picked up by a local animal control. I am house trained, quiet, good with other dogs, curious with cats, good with kids. I’m an all around nice dog! 8/1/2011

Hugo: Hugo is a big boy with a huge heart! He loves to be with people and will do anything for a treat. He gets along well with other dogs and cats but really prefers to play with his humans. He is great with children and is currently being fostered in a home with toddlers. He would do best in a home with older children as he sometimes forgets to put on the brakes when he plays. ๐Ÿ™‚ He came to us from a high kill after his family moved and could not take him into their down sized home. He is aprox 2-3 years old. 8/1/2011

Chug: This handsome man came to us from a Chicagoland shelter after he was found dumped in the city and no one claimed him. He is a very sweet boy who just aims to please. He rides well in the car and walks fairly well on a leash. He enjoys being brushed and groomed. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and likes cats. He is great with older children. He is estimated to be 3-4 years old. 8/1/2011

Buffet: This handsome 1 1/2 yr. old boy is in a foster home in Elko, NV and will be placed thru our Rescue. Buffet gets along with other dogs – loves to play and go for walks. He was rescued by a couple who saw him at their vet’s office where he was waiting for medical care for a broken femur. They were kind enough to take him to a ortho vet in Idaho and Buffet is recovered from surgery. He does have some screws in him but he is fine now. 8/1/2011

Bear: is a five year old male St. Bernard who is located in a foster home in Cedar City, Utah. Bear is a good boy who gets along with other dogs and knows his basic commands. He is waiting for a new, loving and forever home after being placed thru the Utah Rescue and coming back to Rescue because of changing situations within the household. 8/1/2011

Eli: is 1.5 years old and is a special needs guy. He is very shy and afraid to be at rescue, would very much prefer to be in a home. Eli needs a very special home that has the patients and love to get him over his fears. When we picked him up he just shook and if you even touched his hair he would jerk and pull away. We just sat beside him and spoke softly to him and he calmed down enough to get in our car. The owner that dumped him off said he loved children and preferred women but he reacts like he had a very hard life. He was in the shelter for three days and never would do his business but when we took him outside, boy did he do his business. So we can say he is housetrained. We took Eli to our rescue shelter and took him out to the play area where he ran around and came up and started giving us chin kisses. Eli reacts differently to each person he meets. He is really a sweet boy but needs that very special home that we know is out there. 8/1/2011

Dakota 2: is around three years old and a very sweet girl. She gets along great with other dogs, loves children and loves to play. We will post more information on this sweet girl as she gets out and meets the other rescues. 8/1/2011

Samson: is a handsome, 3 1/2 year old, short haired male. He is neutered, up to date on his shots and micro-chipped. Samson is aptly named weighing a solid 162 lbs, and very strong. Sampson has spent the last couple of years confined to a small back yard with very little attention, little exercise, and no training As a result he became easily excitable, hard to control, and was described by his owner as “hyper”. Since being at his foster home Sampson has been getting daily walks and a lot of attention, and it is amazing how his behavior has changed. He is calm, happy and much easier to handle. He appears to be very intelligent, and he is a fast learner. Samson needs a home where he can continue with his training. He needs to be walked daily for the exercise as well as the mental stimulation, and no a big back yard is not a good substitute. Sampson would do best in a home where he is the only dog, and because of his size a home where there are no small children. Sampson is a great dog who has survived some very negative circumstances. For the right person willing to put in the effort, and train him with a firm yet kind hand he will undoubtedly be an amazing friend and companion. Are you that person? 7/24/2011

Harry: is a five year old shorthaired Saint Bernard. He would be a devoted companion and is a VERY friendly guy with people. Harry needs a home with a mature family as he would be forever at your side. He does not do well with other dogs unless introduced properly. He spent about six months of his life being abused by a male Rottweiler so therefore is leery about dogs that he doesn’t know. We have had him evaluated by a trainer who says that there isn’t an aggressive bone in his body. If interested in giving Harry a second chance, a trainer will work with you to show you how to introduce him to other dogs. It only takes a few minutes. Harry would do best in an only dog home and to be your forever companion. He could be the love of your life. He is absolutely wonderful. 7/24/2011

Gibby: hates when you touch him at first. He screams and hollers when you do. Gibby was born on 3/29/2011. 7/22/2011

Winnie: is a great girl who loves everything. She is very playful and full of energy. Winnie was born on March 30, 2011, and she is pure-bred. 7/22/2011

Kyata: is an absolutely wonderful dog. He is completely trained and knows basic commands. He is exceptionally good at “down”. He is a walker and does excellent with a gentle leader on which will be provided as well as a bag of all of his toys and bowls. He is up to date on all shots and has excellent vet records with no hip problems at all. He is a people person and loved walks around town and the city. He is not aggressive at all and does well with other dogs and cats. He currently lives with 2 other older dogs and 2 cats, and he’s never had a problem with any of them. He also does not slobber very much. Usually only after he drinks water. The only reason his family had to give him up is that both parents lost their jobs and were forced to move across the country to work and are living with other family at the time. This was an incredibly hard decision for them, but they only wanted the best for him and for him to find a place to be happy. Can you give Kyata a new home? 7/22/2011

Moose: Hello everyone my name is Moose. I am 3 yrs old, neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and started on flea and heartworm prevention. I am not a true Saint but a Saint mix. I am however as honorable, if not more, than a Saint. I will love my master as they take good care of me. I am wishing that my new master can teach me some commands to follow and socialize me with others, brush my hair and take me on walks and of course hug me. I’ve been told that I need a friend who can teach me that the entire world is not an abusive place as it has been to me. I want to find that will take the time to give me some attention. Can I be your only pet so that I can give them my undivided attention? 7/22/2011

Prince: is a very handsome 2-year-old male Saint Bernard who was rescued from being tied up outside his entire life. He’s a big boy, currently coming in at about 120 lbs and still needing to gain more weight! Because of his past, Prince feels the need to act like a tough guy when he first meets new people. But once he’s told the new people are fine, he’s just a big baby who can’t get enough affection! He bonds really well with whoever feeds him, and he is very protective over his family and property. He will need a very strong personality in his new home, and he has to go to a home with no kids. Prince is currently enrolled in an intensive obedience training program, and whoever adopts him must attend three 1-hour sessions with our trainer (at no extra cost). He is up-to-date on his shots and neutered. 7/22/2011

Sarge: is a 1 year old smooth coat boy. His family recently had a baby and had some major changes in their life deciding it was best if they rehomed him. He is mostly housebroken but is having some stomach upsets that are throwing this off a bit. He is also up to date on shots, neutered and completely obedience trained. He is great with all ages of children, other dogs and even cats. He’s an awesome all around dog. Preference will be given to previous adopters and homes with a traditionally fenced yard. 7/20/2011

Bruschi: (pronounced Bruski) is a 3 year old, short hair Saint Bernard. Appropriately named after a NFL line backer, he’s a big boy even for a Saint at about 216 lbs. He is a little over weight and should be down around 200 but we’ll work on that in rescue. Bruschi is neutered, up to date on shots, and house broken. Bruschi’s mom developed severe allergies to him and after a few too many trips to the ER they were forced to find the big guy a new home. Bruschi is your typical gentle giant, a gentleman with everyone and everything he meets. He really likes peanut butter sandwiches (but I suspect that might be what’s packing on the pounds), and enjoys a daily walk especially in public places where he will be fawned all over. He’s used to being the rockstar at his Mom’s school and receiving a ton of attention. He is also accustomed to being a huge part of your family life, laying with you while you watch TV and sleeping next to your bed. We want no less for him with his next family. We believe a family who will allow Bruschi to be active in all their activities will be the best fit for him. We would also like a family who will participate in Saint Rescue activities. A fenced yard is strongly preferred and an application, home check and adoption fee applies. 7/20/2011

Beastro: is called a bald face saint (no mask) and he was shaved down by his former owner. Said former owner left him at the Humane Society saying they were allergic to him. He is a very sweet and loving saint. In the picture he is being introduced to the play pool but just wasn’t too sure about all that moving water. He is very affectionate and loving towards people. We haven’t introduced him to the other saints yet since he just came in but will update his progress. 7/18/2011

SKYE BIRD: How can you resist those soulful eyes? Isn’t she adorable? Skye just arrived in our program because her previous owner couldn’t give her the time he felt she deserved, and what an impression she has already made! She’s sweet. She’s playful. She’s just darling. Alas, she’s also quite a bit overweight too. Skye just celebrated her 6th birthday. She thinks she’s still two, and shows no evidence that she plans to slow down anytime soon. She loves playing with stuffies or with a ball, and she hasn’t met the cookie she doesn’t like, as you can see. The successful adopter will be committed to helping her lose that extra poundage through exercise (which she loves) and calorie restriction (which she won’t love). Though she looks like a smoothcoat (shorthair), shes actually a longhaired girl. Her previous owner shaved her down for the hot summer months, something we definitely DON’T recommend because a dog’s hair insulates them from the heat as well as the cold. Skye is spayed, vaccinated, HW-negative, and will be microchipped before she leaves here. She is friendly with other dogs and has been with kids as young as three years old. Amazingly, she’s never met a cat but she shows no signs of aggression toward the family of squirrels who stupidly insist on playing in our yard. Skye will do well in a home with children and with another dog. A fenced yard is preferred but consideration will be given to the candidate who will not leave her outdoors unsupervised. 7/17/2011

Yogi: Meet Yogi He is a small saint at only 89lbs. with a large heart. He is a 2 1/2 yr old neutered male. He has been wormed, chipped, and all vaccinations are current. He has a clean bill of health. He has had a sad life until he came into rescue. He is doing well and learning what love and trust are all about. He is a bit shy at first but warms up rather quickly. He is afraid of being hurt again. He is housebroken, crate trained and learning to walk well on a leash. He loves to play. He seems to do well with other dogs if properly introduced. He has a female saint to play with and seems to enjoy her company. I would like to see him with a family with an older child to be his playmate and friend or perhaps an older person. 7/17/2011

Harold: This is Harold. He is a beautiful boy. He is extremely well trained, and very well mannered. He is neutered, wormed, chipped, and all vaccinations are current. He is housebroken and has house manners. He gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. All he wants is a family to call his own and a cool place to sleep and someone to play tug with. He is an awesome dog. 7/14/2011

ShyAnn: Meet our little Newfie friend. ShyAnn (we’ve been calling her Shy) is almost five years old and was recently spayed. She’s housetrained, vaccinated, HW-negative, and microchipped. She’s a delightful little sweetie who very much wants the companionship of humans, and she bonds quickly with anyone who will shower her with love and attention. Though small-framed, she is quite thin. She will need an adopter committed to restoring her to a more appropriate and healthy weight, but she loves food so that won’t be much of a problem. Shy interacts nicely with other dogs as well as with cats. She adores children. And she has the LOVELIEST soft brown eyes! A fenced yard is preferred, and another dog (or dogs) would be a definite plus. 7/3/2011

PEGGY: Good things can indeed come in small packages (even Saint Bernards). Allow us to introduce Peggy, a two-year-old peanut of a Saint. Peggy is a roughcoat little miss who is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm-negative, microchipped, and housetrained. Like all our dogs she has been started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Peggy came to us from a situation of domestic violence, though she doesn’t appear to have been a direct victim of any abuse herself. She’s happy and playful and active. She’s good with kids over age 3 or 4 and she plays well with other dogs and with cats. She’ll need to learn leash manners and basic obedience. However, she’s bright and will learn fast. Peggy’s enjoying life here at Camp Saint Rescue but we want her to get on with her life with a family who will love her as much as we already do. A traditional fenced yard is STRONGLY preferred though consideration will be given to the applicant who will walk her regularly and be religious about not letting her off leash. 7/3/2011

SHADOW: This handsome fellow is 17-month-old Shadow. He’s a smoothcoat guy who is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and HW-negative. He appears to be housetrained despite having spent the past couple of weeks living in a kennel, and usually sits by the door when he needs a potty break. Shadow is a social boy who is quite interested in meeting people and other dogs when out for a walk but could benefit from a bit of a refresher in leash walking. He’s a friendly, happy dog. He enjoys chasing cats but only to play with them. He has been successful with children age 4+ though isn’t completely aware of his size and energy level so younger kids can occasionally get knocked over by that big swishy tail. He knows a few commands; however, like most Saints, can be selectively deaf — He pretends not to hear you calling him but can hear the treat jar being opened from a mile away. A fence is strongly preferred but not essential as long as he is not ever allowed to be outside off-leash. He LOVES to go for walks. Shadow wouldn’t mind a female canine playmate. 7/3/2011

MACHO: This good-looking guy is three-year-old Macho. As you can see he is a roughcoat and has interesting markings he’s got a half mask, a monk’s cap (the spot on the top of his head where legend is that he was kissed by an angel), and one hospice ear (white on the ear flap, so named after the Hospice of Saint Bernard in Switzerland). He’s a splashcoat and has more white on his body than brown. But he’s a purebred Saint Bernard. Financial difficulties made it impossible for Macho to stay in his home, prompting his human to ask for our help. Macho’s a tall boy who loves taking his human for walks, getting tummy rubs, and playing with a ball. He’s microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm-negative but hasn’t yet been neutered. (That’ll happen soon.) He also needs minor surgery to correct a condition called cherry eye. That’ll be done before adoption. Macho-man could stand to gain about 10 pounds to reach his ideal weight. He’s a loyal dog who delights in the company of his humans, and has a really well-developed sense of humor. His previous owner had reported that he occasionally sleeps with his food bowl on his head. “Yeah, sure, we thought.” Until we actually saw it for ourselves. What a clown! He’s been with kids from toddlers on up, and lived with a dog and a cat. The ideal home will have kids, another dog and/or a cat. We’d strongly prefer him to have a fenced yard though consideration will be given to the candidate committed to lots of walks and not leaving him outdoors off-leash. He could use a refresher course in leash-walking, however. 7/3/2011

Justice: My name is Justice, my foster parents call me Justy. I’m a bit shy at first but once I know you, I’m your friend for life. I love being outside playing with my foster brother-dog Axel. I also like to just lay around enjoying the weather too. I know how to sit and come when I’m called. I just want a family to love me and that I can love. 6/29/2011

Morti: Hi! My name is Morti, and I’m a 6 1/2 year old neutered male. I ran away from my home one too many times, and I guess my dad didn’t want to come and get me anymore. Now I’m in a great foster home with another dog, but I would like to have a new home to call my own. I get along great with other dogs once I get to know them, and I’m very good with kids. Because of my history, I will have to go to a home with a fenced in yard. I’m very active for a 6 1/2 year old, but I still like to cuddle up on the couch with my people for a nap every now and then. I like to go in my kennel, even when I don’t have to, but I am allowed to sleep wherever I want at night because I don’t make any trouble. I’m a big sweetheart who loves people – could you love me? 6/29/2011

Boyd: I’m Boyd and yes I’m back at the Rescata. My first adoptive family did not work out. I went to hang out at my brother George’s place for a bit but he kicked me out too. I really am a good dog. I get along great w/ all the dogs at the Rescata and the cats too. I travel light and am ready for a ride home. BTW Lilly is my buddy, so if you have room for two, LMK 6/28/2011

Ziva: is a very athletic rough coat spayed female. She can jump a 6 foot fence flat footed and off of and onto a 5′ high porch. She does not like other dogs sniffing her butt and will tell them that emphatically. She loves cats and is very gentle w/ them. She’d like some kids to take care of also. 6/28/2011

Blackjack: is a 2 year old neutered male rough coat Saint. He gets along fine with other dogs and cats, and knows some basic commands. He is housebroken, up to date on vaccines, and thinks he is small enough to be a lap dog (but he is wrong!). Blackjack needs a fair amount of grooming to keep him beautiful, and he is very drooly, so keep a towel handy! Blackjack loves people and children. He is a great family companion, and is currently being fostered in the DFW area. 6/27/2011

Trudi: is a sweet 4 month old Australian Shepherd/Saint mix who currently weighs about 30 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and gets along well with others. This cute puppy will need lots of training and time devoted to her to help her grow into the great dog she can be. 6/27/2011

Lacie: was found as a stray and is a very loving girl who just wants to climb into your lap. She is a small girl weighing 92 pounds. Lacie is about 3 years old and would make a wonderful companion to any household. 6/27/2011

Hannah: and Baily: are sisters who are very bonded and need to be adopted together. They are two years old, playful, raised with three other smaller dogs, they are very sweet and loving. They are both housetrained. They do everything together as you can see in the pictures. 6/27/2011

Jimmy: is around 8 months old and a real sweetheart. He likes playing with the other rescues and getting lots of love and attention. As you can see from his pictures, he is a goofy fun loving saint. 6/27/2011

OTAVA: Otava’s a 5-year-old gentle giant (with emphasis on the word “giant”). His head’s the size of a basketball. Unfortunately he was allowed to become 15-20 pounds overweight and will need to drop that excess poundage via calorie restriction and judicious exercise. So if you like to walk, Otava might just be your man. Originally from a professional breeder in Sweden, he accompanied his family when they moved to the States, and recently came into our program when his humans moved back to Europe. He even has his own passport!! Otava is a roughcoat (longhaired) boy. He’s neutered, housetrained, UTD on vaccinations and negative for heartworm. A couple of years ago he had surgery to repair an eye condition called entropion (common in this breed) which occurs when the eyelids turn in, causing the eyelashes to irritate the eyeball. Currently he has some arthritis in his elbows for which he is given an inexpensive glucosamine supplement. Otava’s a big lug who does well with children as young as toddlers. He can be stubborn and could use a refresher on leash manners (though he does pretty well with a Gentle Leader or Halti). He’s sweet and intuitive and sensitive, and he’s a great cuddler. Otava has never met a cat but given that he’s not too fond of small dogs he’d probably not do well with cats. And though generally friendly, we think he’d be most content as an only pet. He LOVES being vacuumed. And did we mention that he snores? He will need a traditional fenced yard and an adopter committed to frequent walks. 6/24/2011

Golliath: is a young dog, maybe 2 years old. He rides great in a car. He gets along with all female dogs, as for male dogs he needs to be top dog so the other guy would have to be very passive. He is smaller in size than the normal Saint. At the vet he weighed 89 lbs. We are not sure if he likes cats or not. The adoption fee includes all shots, heartworm test, neutering, a Home Again microchip and one night free obedience class in the Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Tahoe areas. We also include an information packet and a large bag of Pedigree dog food. 6/23/2011

Ricki: is about 2 years old. She is smaller than average in size, weighing in at 75 lbs. She seems to be housebroken. She likes other dogs except at feeding time. Feeding separately is the key here. She loves people and wants to be with them all the time. The adoption fee includes all shots, heartworm test, neutering, a Home Again microchip and one night free obedience class in the Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Tahoe areas. We also include an information packet and a large bag of Pedigree dog food. 6/23/2011

Maggie: is 3 1/2 years old. She likes cats, but will chase them as a game. She get’s along with other dogs just not bulldogs. we are told she is house broken. She has lots of energy and is full of excitement! and loves a great tummy rub. The adoption fee includes all shots, heartworm test, neutering, a Home Again microchip and one night free obedience class in the Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Tahoe areas. We also include an information packet and a large bag of Pedigree dog food. 6/23/2011

Cody: is 5 years old. We are told he likes cats, and is house broken. He is a very active, hyper dog and loves attention! The adoption fee includes all shots, heartworm test, neutering, a Home Again microchip and one night free obedience class in the Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Tahoe areas. We also include an information packet and a large bag of Pedigree dog food. 6/23/2011

Christine: is about 4 years old and really loves people. She is very sweet, easy going and can pull a mountain. She would love to compete in weight pull contests! 6/23/2011

Zonka: is a 4 year old rough coat, male saint. He is a big boy weighing 155 pounds. Zonka came into rescue because his owner had to move on short notice and the big boy unfortunately wasn’t able to go along. Zonka is good with children, and does well with most other dogs, but unknown with cats. He is pretty good on a leash, but does sometimes need to be reminded not to pull. He is a sweet boy once he gets to know his person and becomes very attached. Zonka is crate trained and housebroken and is very happy just being part of the family. He has been neutered, is up to date on his vaccinations, and is maintained on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative. 6/19/2011

Xeena: is a 4 year old (dob 3/1/2007) female saint. She has a medium length coat and isnt a big drooler unless she is drinking or eating. She is very sweet and absolutely loves children and any people she meets. She does well with other friendly dogs and lived with a cat in her previous home. Xeena would do well in just about any home, but we would love her to have a home with kids to play and snuggle with, as that’s when she seems happiest. She is crate trained and housebroken, but could use just a little leash work. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. 6/19/2011

Rigsby: is a young male Saint, estimated to be somewhere between 1 and 1.5 years old. He was found as a stray, laying in the middle of the road, with barely enough energy to get up. A kind family took him home, cleaned him up, fed him, and called rescue. Rigsby is neutered, now current on vaccines, and is a big “lap dog” wanting lots of attention and pampering. He is very underweight, and his coat is in poor shape due to fleas, but he is thriving on regular meals and enjoying the air conditioning in his foster home. He gets along well with other dogs (of course he wants to play with all of them!), and Rigsby adores children. He seems to be housebroken, and will make some family a wonderful pet. Rigsby is being fostered in the Austin area. 6/19/2011

Dixie: is a smooth coat Saint, about 2 years old. She is vaccinated, and will soon be tested for heartworms and spayed. Dixie is good with other dogs and ignores cats. She should go to a home without children, as the shelter reported that the family that dumped her off said that she had nipped one of the children, even though they thought it was in play. Dixie is a finicky eater, but should gain some weight with time and patience. She is being fostered in the DFW area at this time. As you can see from the photos, Dixie can appreciate a good belly rub! 6/19/2011

Kimmy Ann: Kimmy is a shorthaired female that was five years old in May of 2011. She was kept in a small kennel her entire life so has no idea what life is all about BUT is learning. She now runs around an acre and has a great time. A very sweet dog, gets along with most dogs and do not know about cats. Per her previous owner, she does well with children. She is spayed and up to date on shots. Kimmy is waiting for the special home that will be lucky enough to have her in their family. 6/19/2011

Boomer: a longhaired male that is three years old. Boomer was returned to rescue as he was “boring”. He is having a great time since being at his foster home by playing with whomever will play. He is terribly overweight and needs to lose about 25 lbs. but we’re working on that. He does well with other dogs when properly introduced, likes people and has done well with cats. He loves long walks and car rides. Maybe he is the one for your family? He certainly deserves his forever home. 6/19/2011

Greta: was born on 3/29/2011. 6/14/2011

Gina: was born on 3/29/2011. 6/13/2011

Gracie: is sooo sweet and loveable. Gracie was born on 3/29/2011. 6/13/2011

Gabby: is the whiner and she is also known as Africa because of the shape of the white spot on her back. Gabby was born on 3/29/2011. 6/13/2011

Cyrus: is a 1 year old smooth coated Saint/Hound mix. He is a sweet boy who loves attention and will need obedience training. 6/12/2011

Gabe: is the biggest and likes to lay alone. He is a wimp though because if one of the other dogs lay on him he cries. Gabe was born on 3/29/2011. 6/12/2011

Tulip: is as sweet as her name. She loves to give kisses and just loves to play. Tulip was born on March 30, 2011, and she is pure-bred so 6/12/2011

Diesel: This is Diesel. His current owners got him in Hawaii. He is currently 13 Months old. He is good with the children he lives with now, who are 2 and 5 – although he does knock them over occasionally. (always unintentionally). He also lives with another dog that he gets along with very well. They are best buddies. He is a very good walker until he sees other dogs. He loves to play with other dogs and doesn’t mind his manners when he sees them. He wants very badly to play and will pull on the leash. He is not aggressive towards them but may pull trying to sniff. He loves to sleep under the fan, on the tile floor, or anywhere it is cool. He does try to eat anything he finds and doesn’t discriminate where it is unless someone is watching (like the counter top). He is very loving and playful and wants nothing more than to have his head in your lap or to be curled at your feet. He is up to date on his vaccinations and is not neutered yet. He has a beautiful half mask. He tends to dig in confined areas. He wants to run and explore in an area large enough to accommodate him. His current family loves him greatly and want to see him in a place where he can have the greatest life possible. 6/12/2011

Josh: is a ham, he loves attention and is already showing his goofy side. Josh was born on March 30, 2011, and he is pure-bred. 6/12/2011

Franklin: already showing his great personality. He loves to play and give kisses but is also content to just sit back and watch everything. Franklin was born on March 30, 2011, and he is pure-bred. 6/12/2011

Roscoe: is10 months old and a real sweetheart. He loves car rides and is very gentle natured. He came into rescue when one of his family members developed allergies, Needless to say he is looking for his forever home where he will be top dog. Roscoe is sweet, however shy at the same time. He needs a family that will show him the world is a great place. He weighs in over 100lbs so he is going to be a big boy and we want him well socialized. Please consider this great saint. He is fully vetted and ready for his new home. 6/12/2011

Claire: is very talkative. She is coming out of her shell and just loves to be with people now. Claire is 10 weeks old. 6/12/2011

Elvis: 4 month old Longhaired male. Loves to play with dogs, cats and children. Good with everything. Not fully housetrained as of yet but is working on it. Has a great time at the dog park and loves his car rides. 6/10/2011

Bert: Longhaired male St. Bernard. Bert is 6 years old and is waiting for his new home. Gets along with other dogs, horses, cats, etc. 6/4/2011

DAISY CLOVER: Little Daisy Clover (we’ve just been calling her Clover) is an 18-week-old Saint cross. We think probably Great Dane because her legs are LONG and she runs like a pony. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and HW-negative, and she has been dewormed. Not yet housetrained, she does try so we’re confident she’ll pick it up quickly. Clover has boundless energy and a pleasing personality. She’s like a little jackrabbit who loves to run and stretch out those muscles so a traditional fenced yard will be essential for her. Though she’ll probably bowl them over, Clover will do well with kids of all ages. She’d do well with a canine playmate. The successful candidate must be willing to complete formal obedience lessons with Clover. And since socialization is so incredibly important for baby dogs, we’ll be looking for a situation with a stay-at-home parent, or two parents who work opposite shifts. 6/4/2011

HAROLD: Hi there. My name is Harold. I’m a roughcoat boy and I’m eight months old. I’m quite a cutie, don’t you think? I landed at Camp Saint Rescue because my human mom wasn’t able to care for me. I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. And I’m housetrained. I know several commands and I walk well on a leash. Though I’m still occasionally “testing my puppy wings” I’m a smart little dude and try real hard to do what I’m told. I’m pretty good about not chewing the wrong stuff anymore (though I DID manage to do a number on a pair of my mom’s shoes not too long ago). I’d love to have a human of my very own. Another dog would be great so I can have a playmate (female only, please). A cat would be okay too. Older kids would be good, though I wouldn’t mind if there were no kids. (I can sometimes be a little overprotective of little kids). I would like the safety of a traditional fenced yard, or at least the opportunity for lots of on-leash walking, and I shouldn’t be left outdoors off-leash. I’m mighty affectionate and I love to cuddle. My foster mom says I’m a big teddy bear. Won’t you adopt me? 6/4/2011

Lucy: Hi, I’m Lucy! I am house trained and have a great personality. I love other animals, all people and I am excited for my new home. My past owners did not think I would do well in the hot climate they are moving to, so here I am looking new owners. 6/4/2011

Gus: (TX) When we first got Gus in July of 2004 he was just a seven month old puppy that had been living off of road kill. We snuck him into our apartment where he quickly adapted to the sweet life of being an over sized lap dog. For the past six and a half years Gus has been a very big part of our family. He grew up with our oldest son (who is now 18) and welcomed our two youngest babies (2 years and 8 months). Last year we had to put down his good friend Gracie, another rescued Saint Bernard. Gracie had an osteo-sarcoma, and ever since then he has seemed a little bit sad. Unfortunately we have not been able to give Gus all the attention that he is used to, and we have not been able to play with him the way he likes. Gus has three modes. One is he plays like he still a puppy, running and jumping around everywhere. The second is snuggling. He will walk up to the couch, park his butt on it and just stare at you until he gets the scratches that he wants. When he is not asking for scratches or enticing you to play with him he is sleeping. Gus will find the coolest part of the house and sleep there most of the day and night. Recently Gus has made it clear that he does not always want to have a two year old throwing their toys at him, and chasing him around the house. Sadly we have had to make the very tough decision to ask someone that else take care of Gus for us. Gus is up to date on all of his shots, Heart Guard ยฎ and Frontline ยฎ. His Vet says he is in great shape, and has offered her support in helping us find a new home for him. Gus doesn’t need a large house, but he does need to run and play everyday. Gus loves to play with other dogs and teenagers, but is not always great with very small kids. We have plenty of toys and beds to help Gus feel comfortable in his new home. 6/3/2011

Sonny: and Savannah: This lovely couple needs a home. They are sweet, love car rides, and would love to have you take them on a walk when you get home from work. They are 5 years young and want to be your new best buddies. Also they like to a yard to clown around in with their toys. These dogs are currently in a kennel and we would like to get them out as soon as possible. They should not be placed with cats and small dogs as they tend to gang up when they get around small animals. 6/3/2011

Savannah Sonny

Maddie: loves people and she sticks right next to your side. She has a great personality and is very playful. Maddie was born on March 30, 2011, and she is pure-bred. 6/3/2011

Sadie: (TX) was rescued from Virginia Beach Animal Control about a month ago. Due to personal reasons, the owner can no longer care for Sadie and would like to find a good home for her by the end of May. Sadie is a 3 year old Saint Bernard, weighing about 75-80 lbs. She is very loving and wants desperately to please. She is a dog who loves children, hugs and is very affectionate. She will make a wonderful companion, however, she needs to be the only dog in your household. Sadie has had a rough short life so far, but she deserves a second chance. 6/2/2011

Jeter: Meet Jeter (rhymes with Peter) Hi! My name is Jeter. I am a 2 yr old neutered male. I am housebroken and have house manners. I am a big boy with lots of love to give. I get along well with everyone, adults, kids, dogs, and cats. I know basic commands pretty well but I would love to work on them with you. I don’t care for long walks and I would prefer a home without a lot of stairs. Please take me home with you? 5/31/2011

Crispin: This handsome man came to us from a local shelter after he was found as a stray that no one claimed. He is great with other dogs and cats. He is estimated to be 2-3 years old. He rides well in the car and is housebroken and crate trained. He is a little underweight and could use some fattening up. He is good for bathing and grooming. He does well on stairs. He enjoys playing with his foster brothers and sisters and loves chewie bones. He would do best with older children as he does not know his own size and may accidently knock little ones down. He would make a great addition to any family! 5/31/2011

Brownie: he is two years old, housetrained, was raised around grade school children and is good with other dogs as long as they aren’t aggressive towards him. Brownie needs some training as he does like to jump up on you. If you sit in a chair out in the play yard he wants to just be by you getting loves. He is very playful and is still considered a puppy and will need some work on his manners. He is housetrained. 5/30/2011

Remis: hasn’t really found himself yet. He just lays around and sleeps all day. This puppy was born on 2/18/2011 to Destiny. He won’t be available until the end of April / beginning of May, when we can get him neutered. His father was a pure-breed Saint Bernard and his mother is half Saint and half Australian Cattle Dog. 5/26/2011

Daisy: My name is Daisy and I am a 4 1/2 year old, spayed long hair female. I am very dainty for a saint, I don’t drool much and I weigh maybe 100#, but a lady never gives her true weight! I love love love to play and I have energy like you wouldn’t believe! I love to play tug-o-war and I can turn on a dime- you should see it! But don’t think I have to be outside playing, I just want to be with you! My foster mom says I am super good with her 9 and 10 year old boys and their boxer mix, but I am really not fond of small animals or cats at all and I haven’t been around little children very much. If you want me to meet your dog, it should probably be a boy; Id be much happier with a brother than a sister. One of my most favorite things is snuggling- mom calls me a “velcro dog” because I like to lean and get petted and I take up lots of room in the bed for being so small! I was rescued from a pretty bad life and the folks who have me now say I was super skinny and in rough shape but they have taken really good care of me as you can see by my pictures. They knew they couldn’t keep me, but they just couldn’t leave me where I was and I am so glad about that. If I do something I am not supposed to, I get really scared because the people before were very mean to me. I just want you to be happy with me. I hope you are looking for someone like me, because I deserve to be in a forever home-loving YOU. Do you have a little bit of room in your house and your heart for me? I need to find a home soon so please call! 5/23/2011

Petey: is a huge sweetie! He gets along great with dogs of all sizes. He was recently with 2 pomeranians. However, he is food aggressive with dogs and people when it comes to his bowl. He will take treats from people very gently, but he needs to be fed in a room completely by himself. Petey walks good on leash and knows basic commands. He is house-trained and a big boy at about 170 lbs. From what we’ve seen, he’s in good health and not showing any signs of hip problems. Hopefully he’ll have several good years left. 5/23/2011

Roxy: is a very sweet, but little timid, 7-year-old female. She was a little scared to meet the other dogs in her foster home, but after she got to know them she loves to play and chase them around the yard. She is very gentle and very well behaved. She also needs to be near her people all the time. What a love bug! Roxy loves to be brushed, go on walks, and spending time with her family. She would be great in a home with kids or other dogs. 5/23/2011

Heidi: is a 3 year old female St. Bernard. She has plenty of love and affection to give. She loves to give gentle hugs when you arrive home from work after a stressful day. She’s gentle with cats. She’s very good around some dogs, but is somewhat of an alpha female requiring to be the dominant of the pack. It would be best for her to be an only dog. She loves long walks, running, playing tug-o-war, and a good belly rub. Heidi will curl up in your lap, by your feet, or on the sofa alongside you and keep you company. She can provide someone with the right size home and yard an amazing companion. 5/23/2011

“Memphis”: is a laid-back southern gentleman who was born into Tennessee’s Saint Rescue 5 years ago. He was adopted as a pup to a loving family in Maryland who had him until this Fall when their family had some very unfortunate circumstances. So Memphis is now looking for a new place. He is neutered, up to date on all his vaccines, and currently on Heartworm preventive. He gets along well with other dogs, but also doesn’t mind being on his own. He loves to go for walks and has excellent manners on a lead. He likes a good car ride. He is also crate trained, but really doesn’t need one, as he has impeccable house manners. He truly is a Gentleman; and these days, they are hard to find!! 5/23/2011

Roxy: Hi, my name is Roxy. I’m about 10 years old and I came to the Rescue when my family couldn’t keep me any more, but I’m having fun in my new foster home. I have very bad arthritis in my spine, and I have to get medicine every day plus vitamin E to help with my bones and joints. I also need to use a ramp to go in and out of the house since stairs hurt. But even though I’m often in pain, I can’t help but chase the cats in the house every time I see them! I’m quite the little devil when it comes to them! I get along with most of the other Saints in my foster home, but I like to be the queen bee too. I love to bark at everything – animals and people – just to say hello. But I’m not scary at all. If someone comes up to me when my foster dad and I are out on our walks, I get all excited hoping that they’ll stop to pet me. I’m a sucker for being petted, and for getting my beautiful coat brushed. 5/23/2011

Ocean: Hello, my name is Ocean. My foster dad rescued me from the humane society. I’m about 8 years old, but I still have puppy in me. I love to get brushed. I also love when my foster dad eats steak for dinner, because he always gives me some. Yummy! I live with 4 other Saints, but I only get along with 2 of them. I usually stay in the back part of the house by myself so I don’t cause fights, but I do like to play with the kitties. I’m not bothered by them. It took me about 7 months to get along with the first two dogs my foster dad had in his house, but then he took two more fosters in. He’s trying to get me to be friends with them too. I just like to be the big cheese, so it takes time for me to make sure that the other dogs will let me be the boss. I am very protective over my foster dad and my toys (with the other dogs only), so they better not mess with them! 5/23/2011

Jazz: Jazz is somewhere between 7 and 10 years old. She is very sweet, following her foster father around the house. In fact, she doesn’t like to leave his side! Jazzy gets along with all the other foster dogs and the cat in her home. She has very bad arthritis in her front half, but her hips are in good shape. Because of her stiffness, Jazzy needs a home with little or no stairs. Jazz is also heartworm positive. She is currently being treated, and she needs a home that is willing to continue her treatments. 5/23/2011

Koda: is a sweet boy and very clumsy. He just needs someone to love him and teach him some manners. Koda is 10 weeks old 5/19/2011

Rose: is a sweetheart and very playful, she loves to be in the middle of everything! Rose is 10 weeks old. 5/19/2011

Charra: Charra likes to let you know when he needs something. He knows his schedule and will bark when it’s time to eat, drink, or play. He is not a constant barker, but will bark if he thinks you are taking too long to let him out to eat. He loves people and other dogs. He is especially happy when he is the center of your attention and will lay back for a belly rub for as long as you want to give it. He is very playful, likes all kinds of dog toys (ropes, balls, and bones). This puppy was born on 2/18/2011 to Destiny. He won’t be available until the end of April / beginning of May, when we can get him neutered. His father was a pure-breed Saint Bernard and his mother is half Saint and half Australian Cattle Dog. 5/19/2011

GRACIE LOU: Sweet Gracie Lou had a tough early life. Sadly, her breeder’s family saw nothing wrong with physically abusing her. She was absolutely terrified of things like walkers and canes and wheelchairs and step-stools. Then along came a terrific family who have spent ages trying to convince her that there are wonderful people out there with soft voices and loving hands. Gracie made remarkable progress in that environment. Unfortunately, however, Grandma could no longer live alone so she came to live in the household and though she dearly loves Gracie, the very appearance of her walker really bothers Gracie. Her family realized that it was in Gracie’s best interests to live in a peaceful environment where something as harmless as a walker won’t scare her to death. A 4-year-old roughcoat, she is spayed, housetrained, vaccinated, heartworm-negative and microchipped. She’s had some informal obedience and responds to basic commands. She’s playful and likes ear rubs, riding in the car, and tummy scratches. She never tires of chasing after a ball and bringing it back to her human. Initially a tad shy when meeting new people she warms up once she knows they won’t hurt her. Gracie will need a fenced yard. She’d like a male dog to play with, and would probably do well with a cat. Kids should be six or older. She’s a big love sponge. Please give her a chance and your affection will be returned a hundredfold. Gracie Lou deserves the very best life can offer. 5/18/2011

BLOSSOM: Blossom just turned two years old She’s longhaired, recently spayed, housetrained, vaccinated, and microchipped. She’s HW-negative and like all our dogs, she’s on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Her previous folks came upon hard financial times and couldn’t keep her. She misses them a lot but is having fun hanging out at Camp Saint Rescue while we find her a new family. Blossom knows a few commands though she could stand to refine her leash-walking talents. The successful candidate will have a traditional fenced yard and kids over age 8 or 9. She hasn’t met a cat while here with us but does quite well with most other dogs, including small breeds. She loves to cuddle and can usually be found with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. She’s hoping to find her forever home soon. Give her a call. You won’t be disappointed. 5/18/2011

EVO: Isn’t he handsome? Especially with that hospice ear (white on his left ear flap). Two-year-old Evo is a roughcoat (longhaired) boy who is vaccinated and heartworm-negative. He’s a playful young fellow whose special favorites are Meaty Bone dog cookies, riding in the car, and bananas. But he whimpers like a big baby when it thunders. Though he has had some informal obedience work, and knows his commands, his occasional inconsistency would be well-served by a refresher course to reinforce what he already knows. Evo’s an affectionate boy who LOVES to nuzzle. And he’s quite good at letting his human know exactly what he wants. He will soon be neutered and microchipped and then will be ready to charm some lucky family. Evo interacts nicely with kids, even those as young as one year old. He will need a traditional fenced yard. Though he’s a bit too intense for cats, Evo will do well either as an only dog or with a very submissive mid-sized female dog. 5/18/2011

HUNTER 2: Say hello to nine-month-old Hunter. He’s a roughcoat (longhaired) boy who is neutered, vaccinated, HW-negative, microchipped and housetrained. He’s a goofy bundle of energy who’s quite sure that people were put on this earth just to rough-house with him. We joke that he has two speeds — FAST and GET THE HECK OUT OF MY WAY. Though he has had some informal obedience training, Hunter will definitely need a refresher course in obedience so his responses will be more consistent. He does try hard to please but he’s got all that energy Hunter has lived successfully with cats and he very much enjoys the company of his canine friends at doggie day care. Though he has been with young children he’ll do best in a family with kids over age 9 or 10 as he just doesn’t know his own strength. And that tail will send a little kid flying. Hunter loves tummy rubs (when you can get him to lie still), playing with a ball, and pizza crust. He’s not a fan of the vacuum cleaner or quick movements around his head. He loves women and is learning that men can be okay too. (We suspect that he may have been treated harshly by a male in his earlier life.) Hunter will need a traditional fenced yard and a patient family who will help him harness all that puppy enthusiasm. The successful candidate will have previous Saint- or giant-breed-experience and must be willing to complete formal obedience with him. He’s a cutie. Don’t let him slip through your fingers! 5/18/2011

Junior: is approx. 3 years old. He was picked up as a stray so we don’t know much about his past. He is good with other dogs, cats, and seems to like the company of children. He does tend to be quite scared of adult males, so introductions should be done slowly so that he has good experiences. He is working on his leash manners and on becoming a house dog. He does need some help with his house manners and also with housebreaking which his foster mom is teaching him. He seems very willing to please. We will continue to update his information as we learn more about him. Junior will be scheduled for his neuter in the upcoming weeks, so he will not be ready for his new home until this is done, but is up to date on his shots and has been started on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. 5/16/2011

Brutus: Say hello to Brutus. He is a 2 1/2 year old rough coat saint with a friendly personality. Brutus was an owner surrender to an animal shelter due to hard times that came upon his family. He has been primarily an outdoor dog, so he will need help on housebreaking, but he is doing wonderful with crate training and has had no accidents in the crate. He is friendly with all people, dogs, and does well with some cats, but if he could be placed in a cat free home that may be best. He will need some basic obedience and leash manners, which we will start working on while he is in rescue. He was also raised with children ranging from 5-10 years old. 5/15/2011

St Bernard: in Adams, TN. We are about 1 hour north of Nashville, TN. I have reported her to the Humane Society and Animal control, but no one has reported a lost St Bernard. I am not able to keep her so I need to find her a good home. On 29 Aug, this beautiful St Bernard wondered into my yard. I’ve taken her to the vet for a complete checkup, she is very underweight but otherwise healthy. She is between 12-18 months old and is spayed. She had a collar but no tag and no microchip. I would love to keep her because she is such a sweet girl, but I have 3 other dogs and really can’t give her what she needs and deserves. 5/9/2011

Mia: is a young female rough coat Saint. She is estimated to be between 1-2 years old. Very sweet and lovable. Loves attention, and likes to play with other dogs. She is very underweight, but a short time in her foster home ought to take care of that. She came from a neglectful situation, but seems to have forgotten that people treated her poorly in the past-she loves everybody! Mia is being fostered in Louisiana, and already has some adoption interest. Go Mia! She will be vetted and spayed, and ready for adoption soon. She could use some training, as not everyone wants a Saint to stand on their shoulders for kisses! 5/8/2011

Nana: Hi, I am Nana. A wonderful dog that a terrific vet saved from certain death. My owner could not pay for a surgery I needed, so the vet contacted rescue, and here I am! I do well with other dogs, cats, children. I can’t wait to find my forever home!! 5/6/2011

River: Hi I am River. I am about 4 years old. I am a wonderful, energetic, playful, big love bug. I am a very good listener and as you can see from my photos, I get along with other dogs big and small! I am looking for my forever home. Maybe you have a place in your heart for me? 5/6/2011

Barny: is very laid back and affectionate. He’s only 2 years old. He is already following the young children at his foster home around the house and keeping track of their actions. He has no interest in the cats and seems very friendly with our dog. He is overweight and it puts some stress on his back legs, so that sometimes they shake. His hocks also point in as though he’s bracing himself. He could stand to lose around 10-15 lbs and will probably be more active once he does. His foster family is already attached, he is so sweet. Do you have room for this sweet boy in your heart and home? 5/1/2011

Romulus: He is sweet and will play sometimes. He likes to be pet and will sit by you while you do. He looks like a bear from behind. This puppy was born on 2/18/2011 to Destiny. He won’t be available until the end of April / beginning of May, when we can get him neutered. His father was a pure-breed Saint Bernard and his mother is half Saint and half Australian Cattle Dog. 5/1/2011

Kohana: This is Kohana. She is a sweety and is just starting to show who she is. This puppy was born on 2/18/2011 to Destiny. She won’t be available until the end of April / beginning of May, when we can get her spayed. Her father was a pure-breed Saint Bernard and her mother is half Saint and half Australian Cattle Dog. 5/1/2011

Augustus: got this name because he is the one who eats ALL the time. Like the kid from Willy Wonka. He is lazy and just lays around. He hangs out under his momma waiting for her to drop a piece of food for him to eat, even though he can’t chew it yet he tries. This puppy was born on 2/18/2011 to Destiny. He won’t be available until the end of April / beginning of May, when we can get him neutered. His father was a pure-breed Saint Bernard and his mother is half Saint and half Australian Cattle Dog. 5/1/2011

Ronin: This is Ronin. Sometimes he likes to play but just starting to find out who he is. This puppy was born on 2/18/2011 to Destiny. He won’t be available until the end of April / beginning of May, when we can get him neutered. His father was a pure-breed Saint Bernard and his mother is half Saint and half Australian Cattle Dog. 5/1/2011

Shena: This is Shena. She is the bigger female and is sweet. She loves to cuddle and is very sweet natured. This puppy was born on 2/18/2011 to Destiny. She won’t be available until the end of April / beginning of May, when we can get her spayed. Her father was a pure-breed Saint Bernard and her mother is half Saint and half Australian Cattle Dog. 5/1/2011

DUNKIN: This long-legged young guy is Dunkin, a Saint/Bloodhound X. He’s got the legs and ears of a bloodhound and the markings of a Saint. Dunkin is one of the most lovable, goofy, dopey, sweet, clumsy, 90+ pound pups you’ll ever meet. He LOVES to please and will go out of his way to make you smile. His one downfall, though, is that he prefers to be the family’s only dog. Though he enjoys playing with other pups here in Rescue, he will do best as the family’s only dog because he gets very possessive of toys and food and, well, his humans. Dunkin has charmed us all but now it’s time for him to move on to his forever family. Dunkin is a smoothcoat (shorthair). He’s neutered, UTD with routine shots and he’s housetrained. Look at those eyes. Don’t let this boy slip through your fingers! 4/29/2011

Rufio: He is the smallest male. He is a whiner. He cries all the time even when he sleeps. He is starting to find himself though. This puppy was born on 2/18/2011 to Destiny. He won’t be available until the end of April / beginning of May, when we can get him neutered. His father was a pure-breed Saint Bernard and his mother is half Saint and half Australian Cattle Dog. 4/29/2011

China: She was originally born in Macau, China, which is just outside of Hong Kong, I adopted her two years ago. And have enjoyed teaching her, English, how to sit, stay, lay-down and shake. She loves the snow. She has been living with me and my other dog Chevy and was a great addition to my home. She has been “fixed” and weighs in at about 100lbs. She is caught up on all her shots and is in great health. She does have arthritis in her knees but it doesn’t slow her down, we all walk up the butte 4 times a week to keep in shape. She loves to go off-leash and takes in all the smells of the outdoors. And she loves to stick her head out the window on car rides. She does have a history of being leash aggressive, so the person that takes her will need to be aware of this and manage her behavior. She is on a schedule of walks in the morning and evening. And gets fed two cups a day, twice a day, for a total of four cups. She loves bones and treats and we play the “find-it” game. She is very beautiful, soft and loves to cuddle. She understands when it is time to go to bed and is ready to go when ever you want her to go. I suffered a very bad knee injury last week and I am having to find alternative place for China. To make matter worse I am in the middle of packing to move from Bend, Oregon to Austin, Texas. I will need knee surgery in about 3-4 weeks and then another month of recovery. Which does not allow me to walk my St. Bernard for a few months. I love her very much and want to do what is best for her. I am looking for a temporary foster home or a permanent home for China. If I can find someone who will take on China for a 3-6 months while I recover I will pay for her food and take her back when I am able to walk again. Or if I could find someone who would like to make China a part of their family that would be good too. She is a very sweet, sensitive dog. Good around other dogs as long as they are introduced properly. She can be leash aggressive, again easily managed with the right experience person. This is very hard for me as I am having to do what is best for my China even though it is breaking my heart. I love her and want her to be happy and well taken care of. If I could walk her on crutches I would, but it is just not realistic. 4/26/2011

Ladybug: is a 2-3 year old Saint mix who weighs in about 90 lbs. She is always happy and likes to please. She has a dominant personality but generally gets along with other dogs and doesn’t bother the cats. She lives for affection. This sweet girl is waiting for you to take her home. 4/26/2011

Guido: Guido was returned to ISBR after 4 years of being in a new home when his owners divorced and neither parties could take Guido with into their new lives. He has been with older children and should be adopted to someone with children over 8 years old. Even though he is 5 years old, he romps and plays like a youngster and can be a little exuberant for a small child. He is great with other dogs and has lived with cats. Guido does have food allergies and is fed a special diet that can be purchased at a local pet superstore and this will have to be maintained for the remainder of his life. For more information on this handsome man, please contact us. 4/26/2011

Linus: Linus is a big, happy 5 year old whose previous owner and their three young children surrendered him to a shelter because their home went into foreclosure. He arrived underweight and we are still working to fatten him up. He is housebroken and walks well on a leash. He sometimes gets excited and barks at other dogs on lead, but he plays well with others on play dates and during daycare. He is a pretty lazy and laid-back guy and will lay around and sleep most of the day and night. He is SPECIAL NEEDS as Linus suffers from hip dysplasia and will need to be on medication to help control his arthritis and pain. He would love to find a forever home where his people will love and care for him and his needs, understand that he needs a family to retire with, and will offer him unlimited belly rubs and let him sleep next to their bed. A ranch home or limited stairs is best for this big guy. Please contact us if you want to come home to this tail wagging teddy bear every night. Serious inquiries only as Linus deserves nothing but the best for his special needs. 4/26/2011

Lucy: is laid back and just enjoys whatever comes her way. Lucy is 10 weeks old. 4/25/2011

Hunter: a longhaired male Saint Bernard that is almost 5 years old. He is up to date on all of his shots and will soon be neutered. Per his previous owner, he is good with other dogs and cats and is housebroken. He loves his car rides and has had some obedience training. Hunter is in a situation where his previous owner can no longer care for him. Will you be the one lucky enough to have Hunter join your family to live out his life? 4/24/2011

Buddy: is a 4 year old smooth coat male saint. Buddy is good with other dogs and also cats. He does show a little bit of dominance with some male dogs though. He weighs about 90#’s, so he is a little petite for a saint. So if you would like a saint on the smaller side he would be your guy. He tends to be a little shy when he first meets people, but once he warms up to you he wants lots of pets and love. Due to his shyness a home with older kids would be preferred as he likes to lay around a lot and enjoys a quieter home. Buddy is neutered, up to date on his shots, and will be started on heartworm/flea tick preventative. Buddy is also crate trained. Buddy would love to find a home with his friend Maggie, but its not a necessity for adoption. 4/21/2011

Maggie: is a 3 1/2 year old female saint. She has a medium length, but thick coat so regular brushing will be needed. Maggie is good with other dogs, cats, and kids, although we would like to place her in a home with children over the age of 10. She is a sweet and well mannered girl. She loves to play and go for car rides. Maggie is about 120#’s, spayed, up to date on her shots, and will be started on heartworm/flea and tick preventative. She is also crate trained. Maggie and Buddy make a great pair. If your looking for a pair of easy going compact saints then they may be the match for you! 4/21/2011

Cheyanne: is a 5 year old rough coat saint bernard. She is a very sweet girl and enjoys the company of her people. She attaches to her caregivers very quickly and is happiest laying quietly at your feet. She has shown little signs of separation anxiety, but she is not destructive in any way and is trustworthy when left home alone. Although she may whine or bark when you leave. She is also housebroken and will let you know when she needs to go outside. Cheyanne’s leash manners are good and she usually only pulls if people are approaching and she wants to say hello. Cheyanne will need to be placed in a home as the only dog and with children over the age of 12. 4/21/2011

Duke: is an 8 month old athletic boy, he’s 85 lbs of pure love. He is happy just to be with his people or person, weather it is on a walk meeting new people, laying at your feet while you read or work on the computer. Duke is very intelligent. With the proper training he would excel as a service dog. He uses his mind to figure things out. Duke has been running on a farm and knows to come when called and sit. He is a quick learner. Loves to explore. Don’t let Duke’s unique coloring put you off, he’s what is called a “heavily” colored Saint. Duke’s ready to give you and your family all the love you can handle. Do you have some love for him? 4/21/2011

Sasha: is a three year-old female Saint Bernard-Great Pyrenees mix. Sasha is energetic and affectionate. She loves cuddling and belly rubs. She does very well around small children and cats. She knows her basic commands, but does get excited and jumps when she meets new people. Sasha can be aggressive toward other dogs, but with a little time and effort settles down and becomes playful. She can benefit from some additional obedience training. 4/19/2011

Jack: is a male rough coat that is 6 months old. He was released to us by his owner because they had to move into apartment which doesn’t take large dogs. Now all Jack needs is a loving family that will give him the love and attention that he deserves. 4/19/2011

Now all Buster needs is a loving family that will give him the love and attention that he deserves. 4/19/2011

Now all BamBam needs is a loving family that will give him the love and attention that he deserves. 4/19/2011

Cleopatra: is a 4yr old female rough coat. She is a very sweet girl that we rescued from a local shelter. She was found tied to a tree along the roadside in the rain and you can tell that she has had several litters. She was so happy to get out of the shelter that she jumped right in the car and slept the entire ride back to OC. When we got her she was very dirty and matted but after a groom and warm bath she feels much better. Cleopatra loves people, kids and is fine with other dogs. She is spayed, current on all her vaccines and walks well on a leash. Now all Cleopatra needs is a family that will give her lots of love. 4/19/2011

Smokey: is a 2 year old beautiful long hair male. Smokey’s ideal family would have teenage children, or adults only (he’s big energetic boy.) He would LOVE to have a large yard to play in, or be taken for long walks daily. Smokey was raised with a smaller male dog, and two cats and got along fine with them, per his previous owner. Are YOU ready for your life to get “SMOKEY“? 4/18/2011

Brandee: (Louisiana) Brandee is a young, adult, purebred St. Bernard. She was rescued from a local shelter, where she was brought as a stray. How someone lost this big girl and then never came looking for her is beyond me. Brandee is extremely playful and would do best with another active dog to play with. She is at least 20 pounds underweight. Brandee’s new owners need to be ready to handle a large dog. Brandee is extremely friendly and LOVEs other dogs and would be safe with older children. She may be too exuberant for young children and knock them down. Brandee is spayed and current on vaccinations. She did test positive for heartworms and been started on Heartguard. 4/4/2011

She loves kids and has lived well with cats. Lollipop has some food aggression issues, but her foster parents are working with her on those. Buck is currently at a foster home with a female service dog and goes to an in-home care facility on the weekends. he is mellow and good natured. The current foster is unable to keep him for long term, so we MUST find a home for Buck immediately. Can you help? Please inquire about adding Buck to your family- he is neutered and will be current on all his shots before adoption. Please help us place Buck before march 1st! 3/14/2011

Poe: approx one and a half year old half Saint and half Lab. Poe is a fun loving puppy and is full of life. He wants to learn and tries hard to please. He walks nice on leash and is learning to sit and come to his name. He tends to take after the lab side of him as he loves the hunt. He would be great with an active family. Would not recommend small children as he does not realize his size. Plays hard with other dogs. He thinks that life is one big game and is enjoying every minute. Are you the family that will be lucky enough to welcome Poe as your newest member? 3/14/2011

George: is a 10 mo rough coat neutered male. This is the calmest pup I’ve ever fostered. Great house manners. Does not chew furniture. 3/13/2011

Beethoven: doesn’t know how to roll over, but he does know how to give his paw! In fact, shaking hands is his favorite thing to do! This 3-year-old, very sweet boy came was picked up from a home with about 2 cats and 15 other dogs, all of whom were smaller than him. He is great with other animals. We think he’s just self-conscious about only being close to 105 lbs. He is great with people and bonds well with his family. He does have the tendency to become very protective over his people and property though. Beethoven has a lot of energy, so an active home would be great for him. He is up to date on his shots, but he will need to be neutered before he can go to his new home. He also has a little trouble with his right eye. Beethoven just graduated from a intense obedience training class, and the family that adopts him will get three 1-hour sessions with our trainer at no additional charge. 3/11/2011

She enjoys walks and hanging out at home. 3/8/2011

Barril: is Spanish for Barrel! This handsome boy is five years old and he lost his home when his family moved to Mexico and left him behind with another St. named Azul. Cosmo: and Daisy Mae: Cosmo is 4-year-old male, and he is a big boy at 200 lbs. He loves his people and his wife Daisy Mae. Daisy is a 3-year-old smooth coat female. Her is a laid back boy who only wants to find his forever home. He is altered and up to date on shots. He does not like small dogs and cats. Daisy prefers women. Won’t you consider them as your new BFFs. They are both very sweet saints. 3/7/2011

Robin Hood: and Little John: (a pair) – Robin Hood and Little John have left Sherwood Forest and are looking for a new home! Robin is a 4-year-old, 110 lbs male. Little John is a 5-year-old, 130 lbs male. They were found locked in a 10×10 kennel behind an abandoned home, and no one knows how long they were there. Despite that, these two boys are truly everybody’s favorite outlaws. They are extremely sweet and love to get love and affection from their foster parents. Robin’s favorite place is right at his foster mom’s feet. John prefers the landing between the first and second floors when napping, but is right at his foster mom’s side when awake. These two have been together for all of Robin’s life, so we’d prefer to find them a home together now. Can you make room in your heart for these Merry Men? 3/7/2011

London: is a 5 year old female rough coat saint. She is a big, friendly girl and was raised in a home with children. She did love with another dog in her previous home, but she can be a bit dominant, so a home as the only dog, or with a playful young dog would be best. She loves people and likes to be near them as well. She is housebroken, walks well on a leash, and knows her basic commands. She would love a family that will spend time with her and give her lots of attention. A fenced in yard would be preferred as that is what she is used to, but not a necessity as long as she is given regular leashed walks. She is spayed, up to date on all her vaccines, and started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. 3/4/2011

Jo Jo: is an 18 month old male who is very high energy. He is going to need a home where his owners will spend quality time playing with him as well as taking him for long walks. Jo Jo walks well on a leash but is learning that he needs to stay on one side and not cross back and forth during his walk. He does like the creature comforts of a good couch as well as a queen sized bed so you will need to let him know that those furnishings are for the humans of the house not the doggies. As most young males he is foolish and needs guidance and reminders of how a well behaved saint bernard is supposed to act. He has done a little chewing in his old home but rescue strongly believes that he was bored and didn’t have enough playtime with his human buddies. Jo Jo seems to enjoy the company of cats, dogs and people of all sizes. He has however shown food aggression with other animals so for safety sake he should be fed in his crate. 3/4/2011

ARCHIE: Say hello to two-year-old Archie. He’s a pleasant fellow whose family hit on hard times (all too common an occurrence these days). Archie is a roughcoat Saint who is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. He appears to enjoy the company of children, and he’s friendly with MOST other dogs. He’s only been here a short time but has already learned where the treat jar is. He knows a few commands and does REASONABLY well on leash. Archie would like to be part of a family again. He misses having someone with whom to watch TV or hang out in the backyard. He’s a pretty mellow guy who won’t mind chilling out while his humans are at work or school. Though preference will be given to the applicant with a fenced yard, consideration will be given to someone willing to walk him on-leash and not leave him outdoors unattended. Kids should be over age 7 or 8, and another dog (submissive female only) would be okay, though he wouldn’t mind being the family’s only dog. 3/2/2011

HUCKLEBERRY: What a cutie-pie!!! Little Huckleberry is just three and a half months old and he’s quite the heartbreaker. A smoothcoat (shorthaired) boy, he’s already neutered, appropriately vaccinated to his current age, microchipped, and started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. And he’s almost completely housetrained. Huck’s a confident little charmer who will wrap his paws around your heart in a New York minute. He has already acquired some leash manners and loves to go for walks. (He seems to know he’s hot stuff, and he walks with his head held proudly.) He’s a huge fan of Nylabones and doggie cookies. Though he has lots of puppy energy, and razor-sharp teeth, Huck interacts nicely with children, and he gets along famously with other dogs. If your family includes a stay-at-home parent (to facilitate training and socialization, so terribly important for young puppies), and if you have a traditional fenced yard, then by all means give baby Huckleberry a call. Don’t dawdle — He’ll be snapped up quickly! 3/2/2011

WINSTON: Isn’t he adorable? Just five months old, baby Winston was born last December. He’s got loads of puppy energy and enthusiasm, and still has his puppy fuzz. We’re told that Mom was a Saint and Dad was a Belgian Malinois, but he sure looks like a purebred Malinois to us. He’s neutered, housetrained, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Win’s a lovely little puppy who adores rough-housing with other dogs, even dogs considerably bigger than himself. He’s enjoying his stay at Camp Saint Bernard ’cause there are lots of other critters to romp with and learn from but he’s a bit shy one-on-one with some humans, though he’s progress in that area. We’re working on building his confidence, something that an adopter must be willing to continue. His ideal home will include another dog and kids over age 8. His little puppy teeth are like razor blades, and at this age he’s very oral so everything goes into his mouth. For that reason he likely wouldn’t be the best choice for very young kids. Our minimum criteria for Win includes a traditional fenced yard. And the successful family will include a stay-at-home parent so little Winston can get the socialization and training that is so important at this imprint age. He’s a cute little fellow. Don’t let him slip through your fingers! 3/2/2011

Breeze: Hi I am Breeze, and I am about 3-4 years old. I am a very mysterious girl. I was found tied to a pole outside a shelter with a note saying I am a good girl and I like other animals and people/ kids. I am happy go lucky, and looking for my forever home. I love my foster family which consists of two small children and two parents. I am very loving and want to be with them all the time. I would probably do better with another male dog instead of a female. 3/2/2011

Puppies:::: Four little longhair girls born 6-29-2010. Full Saint Bernard. One 1/2 masked girl and 3 full-masked. Need obedience training. Not house broke. They are peeing, shitting, chewing machines. Are you up for it? 2/25/2011

Tippy: Tippy, short for Tiny Princess, has lead a very rough life. Once someone’s very loved house dog, she suddenly found herself living outside, chained to a log. She was rarely fed, had no shelter, and was eaten by flies. Since her rescue, she has been groomed up and looks beautiful! Weighing only 67 pounds when she arrived, we soon started fattening her up. BOY does she love to eat! She is housebroken and crate trained. She rides well in the car. She knows basic commands and does fairly well on a leash. She gets along well with other dogs once she gets to know them so a family with patience is ideal. She is great with cats. She LOVES, LOVES people and children. She is approximately 3-4 years old. If you would like to give this sweet gal a chance at a new start, please contact us. 2/25/2011

Phoebe: This sweet 2-3 year old girl came to us from a high kill facility after she was found running loose as a stray. She gets along very well with other dogs and is great with people. Her foster family has been teaching her leash manners and she is learning new commands everyday. She enjoys going for car rides although would rather be a co-pilot than a back seat driver. She is a very happy girl! 2/25/2011

Elsie: Elsie is a very sweet and healthy 7 year old girl who was rescued by ISBR almost 5 years ago. She quickly found a home with a couple who loves her very much but sadly must now find a new home for her due to their baby’s allergies. Elsie is very laid back and really likes to make her people happy. She is good and gentle with children of all ages and gets along well with dogs. Her small exposure to cats has gone fine as well. She is housebroken, good on a leash, and knows basic commands. Her best trick is giving you each paw separately to be wiped off from coming in from outside. She loves car rides and is a very calm back seat, or rear of an SUV, passenger. She rarely barks and does not drool very much. Elsie is such a good girl and deserves another loving home. She will return the love in multiples. 2/25/2011

Athea: This sweet 4 year old smooth coat girl came to us from an Illinois shelter after her owners relinquished her because they just couldn’t handle having a big dog any longer. She is a real sweetheart that has been raised with children. She would do best as an only dog child but does get along well with other dogs. She is very attached to her humans and loves to be the only attention getter. She is a real beauty and all around great dog! 2/25/2011

JACK SPARROW: and GUNPOWDER GERTIE: Okay all you fans of the Johnny Depp movies, meet our pirates — JACK SPARROW and GUNPOWDER GERTIE. (Gertie has the half-mask.) Just 16 months old, they were confiscated by Animal Control because of a horrendous living situation. Picture this; inadequate food, days (and nights) spent tied on a short chain, very little human interaction, knee-deep in feces. But, boy, they sure cleaned up great! They thoroughly enjoyed their baths and even tolerated a visit to the vet for an exam, vaccinations, and heartworm test. Thankfully, they tested negative for heartworm and Lyme disease. They will need a couple of additional vaccinations in the weeks to come. And they’ll have to pack on some weight. Jack will soon be neutered. We’re holding off on spaying Gertie for a bit because she MAY be pregnant. Though not quite housetrained they’re making quick progress in that department. Right now this brother and sister pair are scared and confused but this is a breed that’s AMAZINGLY willing to trust, and a little TLC goes a long way. We don’t necessarily plan to place them together. Both will need a fenced yard and an adopter willing to work with them on leash manners. Successful completion of basic obedience will be a requirement of their adoption. We’d prefer to see them as only dogs (Gertie especially) because they deserve the one-on-one attention that’s been sorely lacking thus far in their young lives. Kids should be over age 8 or 10. Our “dastardly duo” has lots of potential. Won’t you help them reach it? We’re hoping all their bad karma is behind them and their future will be bright and full of love. 2/24/2011

Bertha: Bertha is five years old and also a sweetheart. She has very nice manners and lots of love to give. Bertha loves to be with you more than anything and she will make a wonderful addition to your family. 2/24/2011

Anna: is a 3 year old female rough coat that we rescued with her brother Luca in a parking lot of a local shelter from their owners. She is a sweet girl that loves attention but wasn’t taken care of by her owners so she is very under weight. She is spayed, current on all her vaccines and has had a much needed bath. Anna loves everybody, good with other dogs, and is learning her potty manners. Now all Anna needs is a family that will give her the love and attention that she deserves. 2/21/2011

Luca: is a 3 year old male rough coat that we rescued with his sister Anna in a parking lot of a local shelter from their owners. He is a sweet boy that’s a little shy when you first meet him but wasn’t taken care of by his owners so he is very under weight and is on medication for his ear infection. He is neutered, current on all his vaccines and has had a much needed bath. Luca loves everybody, good with other dogs, and is learning his potty manners. Now all Luca needs is a loving family that will give him the love and attention that he never has had but deserves. 2/21/2011

Zeus: Meet Zeus, He is in rescue through no fault of his Owner surrender. He is a big goofy happy puppy who needs a forever family of his own. He is 16 months old. He is neutered. Up to date on all vaccinations, wormed, and chipped. He is housebroken, crate trained gets along well with other dogs and cats. Loves to play with toys Loves car rides, mealtimes, belly rubs and treats. 2/20/2011

Gracie: is an 8 yo (12/13/02) spayed female rough coat. Her owner had to relocate for a job and could not take her. She is a very quiet calm dog. She came to us overweight and were are working to get her to a healthier size. She shows no signs of joint problems even w/ her size and being middle aged. The last 8 yo I took in, I kept because I thought she’d not be around long. She lived to be 12. I’m looking for a home for Gracie that she can call her own. I will consider a reduced adoption fee. 2/18/2011

Coco: (located in Magnolia, TX outside of Houston) (but can’t honestly say she knows that name) ยฝ Pyrenees and ยฝ Anatolian shepherd DOB 12/12/2008 Had puppy vaccinations, currently scheduled for annual vaccines. Has not been spayed but will be Not used to cats Decent with other dogs Has been around small children. 2/18/2011

Oliver: (Dallas/ Forth Worth, TX) Oliver is the best kid’s dog I have ever had. He is a giant and not necessarily gentle because he doesn’t realize he is a giant. He wants to curl up in someone’s lap and go to sleep. One day all 3 kids ran and hid under a bed because of a thunder storm and Oliver went and hid with them. He is 100% crate and house trained. He still has a habit of chewing on things if he gets bored but a rawhide solves it. His crate is his crate. He keeps his toys and raw hides in there. He also prefers his food dish and water dish to be in there also if there are other dogs around. He likes chasing squirrels. He is very fast and loves to run. He loves to sleep in bed with me and he will whine when he thinks it is bedtime. If one of the kids gets up at night and comes into the room he gets out of bed waits for them to climb in and then makes himself comfortable again. He loves to snuggle he will stretch out on his side and cuddle with whoever is in bed. He gives hugs when he comes in even if you don’t want one because he has been playing in the mud. He will play with other dogs but really needs to be around dogs his own size. The only time I have seen him truly sad or pout is when my child scolded him for knocking him down. He is also a great guard dog. If he doesn’t like someone you are sure to know about it. He is somewhat leash trained but prefers a short leash so he can walk right beside you. The kids can hold his collar and walk him around the house. They can lay on him and pull on him. He is a great protector… my neighbor’s boxer tried to attack me and when I yelled Oliver came flying over the fence. He didn’t touch the other dog just scared him and then went back inside the house. He is content to stay in his crate when people leave the house but not a moment after they return. He also loves to drink out of the bathtub faucet. Oliver needs a new home due to a job loss. He is a mix of Saint Bernard, Aussie, and Basenji, and weighs close to 100 lbs. He is less than 2 years old. 2/14/2011

Annie Oakley: January 9, 2011 We are happy to report Annie has been adopted to a very special home. Her new mother works in a Vet Specialty Hospital and has access to many specialists that can help Annie with her various conditions. Annie has gained weight and muscle tone since her placement. Both of these factors are critical for her survival. In an interesting turn of events with this adoption, Annie’s new home as it turns out probably has a puppy from Annie’s litter. We are happy she will have the comfort of her brother with her in the coming months. Mid-Atlantic Saint Bernard Rescue would like to extend a big heartfelt THANK YOU to all the generous donations for Annie’s Care and the wonderful folks who contacted us to help. Thank you all very much. We will keep you posted on her progress. UPDATE; 1/26/2011 Annie had her feeding tube placed today, and everything went great! She is such a little trooper! I went to visit her tonight at the hospital, and she was very worn out, but very happy to see her family and her brother. I am hopeful that this will further improve her quality of life. She is such a doll, and I couldn’t love her more. She is up to a stunning 43 pounds! 2/14/2011

Update 1/11/2011

UPDATE; 1/26/2011

Katrina: Katrina is Katie’s sister and also came to MN underweight and battling mange and infected ears. But she sure doesn’t seem to notice! She is so sweet and gives sweet kisses. She is settling right into her foster home and gets along with the resident cat and dog. Please give this wonderful girl a wonderful home. 2/14/2011

Walker: Walker is a little bit saint and a little bit collie and a whole lot of great dog. He is just over one year and everything you could want in a dog-not a mean bone in his body. Saintly personality in a smaller package! 2/14/2011

Elvis: & Riggs: (Dallas, TX) Elvis the Saint Bernard is approx 8 years old, but you would never know it, as he hasn’t seemed to age a day since we brought him home from the SPCA about 7 years ago. He is a neutered male, who is up to date on all of his vaccines and shots. He has a clean bill of health with no signs of heartworms or arthritis. Elvis loves to be inside, either stretched out on the tile or trying to crawl into your lap. Elvis loves all humans, and gets along great with other dogs as well. He is a great watch dog, and will let you know when he sees someone in the yard that is not supposed to be there. Elvis is truly a gentle giant that will bring joy to an entire family. Our Golden Retriever is a 4 year old male named Riggs. We went through a breeder for Riggs and have all of the paperwork from his bloodline. He is neutered and is current on all of his vaccines. Riggs is a fantastic runner, and loves to exercise outside. He is very good off the leash, very smart, and listens to commands from his master. He is shy around people at first, but once he gets comfortable with you he is your best friend. He loves his chew toys, especially his rawhide bones. He loves to play with other dogs, and is very good at the dog park. Both dogs need new homes as their family is relocating out of the country and are unable to take them along. Elvis and Riggs can be placed separately if needed. 2/11/2011

Frezno: (Midland, TX) Frezno is a neutered male Saint, about 2.5 years old. He is housebroken, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. Frezno likes most children, except he is afraid of middle school age blonde haired boys (he must have been tormented by one in his past), and overall he prefers the company of women, as sometimes he cowers from men (especially talking loud). He does not have any known medical issues, and is current on vaccines. 2/11/2011

Fancy: She is a 1 year old rough coat that came to us from Kansas City. Fancy was neglected but has a very sweet demeanor and loves kids. She weighs 76 pounds and needs to put on about 30 pounds. Fancy will need lots of TLC to get her nurtured back to health. 2/9/2011

Ben: is 4 years old and such a sweet beautiful gentle guy. He gets along with all dogs and even cats and all dogs like him too. He does need to be the only dog in the house because he wants to be the only one getting loves. We think this is because he had such a hard life before being rescued and he doesn’t want to miss out on one minute of getting loved on. Outside of the house, he loves to run and play with all the other dogs. He likes to give nibbles on your chin too. When Ben came into rescue he had dreadlocks dragging a foot behind him. He also had a sore on his face that the vets couldn’t tell what it was because of the mats wrapped around it. Now look at him, he’s all cleaned up and ready to meet his new family. 2/3/2011

Scooby: Scooby is a 10-month-old male who was given a second chance on life when he came to our Rescue. He had been condemned as an “aggressive dog” by the shelter where we picked him up, but it turns out that he’s the complete opposite of aggressive. He’s a very fearful dog, and we suspect that he was abused at some point in his short life. He will air snap when he feels threatened or cornered, but never has he gone after a person on purpose. Since arriving at his foster home, he’s become a 100-pound lap dog. He follows his foster parents around the house all the time, and wants nothing more than to be shown as much affection as they can dish out. We suspect that he was never around any other dogs before. He tolerates the other fosters in his home, but he doesn’t know how to play with them. He much rather play with his foster parents. He will let people he’s comfortable with take toys and food right out of his mouth, but he air snaps at the other dogs when they get too close to him when he’s near the food dish or has a bone between his paws. Because of his defensive air snapping, we would prefer a home with no young kids. He just needs a loving home where he can learn that people and other pets won’t hurt him. Can you give him the love he needs? 2/2/2011

SCOUT 2: This amazingly sweet little imp is 10-month-old Scout. She’s longhaired, spayed, housetrained, vaccinated, microchipped, and HW-negative. She even knows a few commands. She’s an obedient girl most of the time. Scout tries to be a very good girl (though she DID chew that corner of the kitchen cabinet one day when she was bored but, hey, that was quite a while ago and puppies do chew). Now she has learned to channel her chewing interest toward proper doggy toys. Scout came to us because her family realized they just didn’t have the time to spend with her due to their busy lives. We’d prefer a fenced yard for Scout. She’d like a male dog to play with, and some kids to scratch her belly. 1/31/2011

Destiney: is a 2 1/2 year old long hair female. She is a loving, sensitive girl. Destiney listens very well, to avoid hearing a raised voice. She walks on a leash o.k. but needs daily walks to keep her in practice. Destiney is a happy girl who would like to have a brother or sister that would play with her. She LOVES to RUN, RUN, RUN, with other playful dogs, so a big fenced yard or a regular visit to a dog park would make her day! Destiney is partially house trained and fully CRATE TRAINED. So if your looking for a lifetime of love wrapped in fur, this could be your be your DESTINEY! 1/30/2011

Jackson: is a 2 year old short hair male. He is a clown, full of energy and love! This boy loves to play with the other dogs at his foster home, and would love to have a brother or sister at his forever home that would play with him. Jackson does o.k. with cat’s (per his previous owner). He is just learning to walk on a leash, and picking it up good for never being on one before. Jackson is very energetic and really needs a person or family that is as active as he is, walking everyday and hiking on the weekends would be good activities for him. Jackson needs someone who will take the time to take him to obedient training. He really needs the socialization he will get there. So if you could use a few more smiles in your life, check out Jackson, he’ll keep you smiling! 1/30/2011

Balboa: Balboa is super energetic a 1 1/2-year-old male Saint. He was raised in a house with 5 kids ranging from 1 to 9 years old, so he’s used to a very chaotic homelife. He’s good with cats, dogs, and young children. Balboa doesn’t like to sit still, and still needs to learn some house and car-riding manners. But he is completely housebroken. He’s already neutered, and by the time he’s adopted he will be brought up to date on his shots. Balboa is allergic to flea bites, so it’s important that he be kept on a good flea prevention medication. He has absolutely no aggression issues, but does like to jump up on people. Balboa always needs something to do, so you better have dog toys available for him! With a little simple training, Balboa will make a great addition to any home! 1/26/2011

Dutchess: is a beautiful 7-year-old female. She has lived with cats, dogs, and birds and gets along with everyone. But her favorite playmates are kids! She is housebroken, up to date on her shots, and spayed. Her primary caregiver recently passed away and her family can’t take of her any more. Will you let this royal girl into your heart and home? 1/26/2011

Honey: This special girl needs a special person with extra patients. Honey is a sweet girl who has had a very rough life. She is very nervous in new situations and it takes her extra time to settle into new places, but once she does she is sooo loving. She gives kisses and is great to cuddle up with on the couch (or bed?). She also really likes her outside time. She is a little nervous with loud noises, so would be most comfortable in a home with older children or adults only. She’s doing great learning to walk on the leash. Honey needs a home where she will have mostly a set routine. She does great when things don’t change on her. Honey really likes to play ball, although, bringing it back to the person who threw it isn’t a priority yet. Honey loves any toys that squeak! She loves the toys that she can throw in the air and catch. Honey also rides in the car well, and does not bark in the house. 1/26/2011

Malik: is an 8 month old rough coat pup that came into rescue due to his owners living situation changing. He is a happy little guy that loves his human companions. He always seems to be walking around with something in his mouth whether it be a stick or his toys and seems very proud of himself for it. He is good on a leash, but does need continued obedience given his age. He likes his doggie companions once he gets to know then and loves to play! A fenced in yard would be preferred because of this, but its not mandatory for his adoption as long as he will get plenty of walks. His behavior with cats is good. He just likes to walk up to them and check them out. If they run he may pursue, but just in play. Malik has also been introduced to a crate and does wonderful with it. He has not had any accidents at all overnight and is very relaxed when in there. Malik has been neutered, had his rear dew claws removed, been started on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and he is up to date with all his vaccines. 1/24/2011

Hercules: is a 2-3 year old male Saint Bernard. We don’t know much about Hercules life before coming to Arizona Saint Bernard Rescue but we can only guess that it was not good. Hercules was turned into the County Shelter by his former owners. Arizona Saint Bernard Rescue saved him just hours before he was scheduled to be euthanized. When he first came to us he was malnourished, filthy, infested by Ticks and extremely frightened of people. The volunteers with Arizona Saint Bernard Rescue took him under their wings and immediately started his rehabilitation. We are happy to report that Hercules condition has been steadily improving. The Ticks are gone and the vet gave him a clean bill of health. Happily he is gaining weight and most importantly he has learned to trust people again. Hercules enjoys running about and being with human companions. He is very attentive and seems to learn quickly. All that is needed now is a forever home with a family who will give this fellow the love and attention he needs. 1/23/2011

Ranger: is a two year old rough coat male neutered St. Bernard. He is currently in a shelter in North Al. He is gentle and sweet in nature. He loves to lounge around in the house as well as running the land getting his exercise. Having already gone through two homes that just were not prepared for a dog his size and unable to provide him the attention he deserves, he would like someone that is willing to give him a home for life. In return, he will give lots of slobbery kisses. Update; Ranger is now at the Rescata, having made bail from the shelter in AL. We and our staff of 4 cats are working on his “cat curiosity”. 1/22/2011

Kiba: is a 18 to 24 month old male Saint Bernard. He was abandoned in the country and was found starving by a kind woman who fed him but could not keep him. When we got Kiba, one of his dew claws had grown almost a full circle, and was embedded in his pad about three-quarter of an inch. In spite all of this, he is a sweet Saint Bernard and he adores people. He still has a bit of puppy in him, and will jump when excited. He is a lap dog! He will crawl in your lap or put his head in your lap at every opportunity. And of course, he is a leaner! Kiba is house trained, good with both cats and dogs, but is probably too much of a “bull in a china shop” for young children. Kiba has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations. He tested positive for heartworms, is currently being treated for whip worms, and will soon be ready for a new forever home. 1/20/2011

Sandy: is a 2yo neutered male rough coat. He gets along fine w/ other dogs, is cat curious and would prefer a home w/ a quiet lifestyle. Children under 10 make him a bit nervous. 1/20/2011

Charlie Brown: This is Charlie Brown, a sweet, handsome three year old St. Bernard rescued from our local shelter. Charlie loves to get belly rubs! He is available through our Rescue. 1/19/2011

Molly: is a 4yr old female rough coat. She is a very sweet girl that was released to us by her owner. When we got her she was very dirty and matted but after a groom and warm bath she feels much better. Molly loves people, kids and is fine with other dogs, and she gives lots of kisses. She walks good on leash and knows the command “SIT”. Now all Molly needs is a family that will give her lots of love. 1/18/2011

Brandy: is a 2 year old female smooth coat. She is a sweet girl that we rescued from a local shelter along with her sister Sasha. They were found as strays but the shelter found their owner who decided not to take them back. She is spayed and current on all her vaccines. Brandy loves people and other dogs. She has lots of energy so she could use obedience training. Brandy is just waiting for her forever family to give her the love and attention that she deserves. 1/18/2011

Sally: is a 3-4 year old female rough coat. She is a sweet girl that we rescued from a local shelter after she was noticed in her kennel by a 10yr old boy. He told his mom that she looks so sad so we need to do something, so his mom called us. She is spayed and current on all her vaccines. Sally loves everybody and good with other dogs. She was skinny and dirty when we picked her up but she has had a bath and is on good food so she is starting to feel better. Now all Sally needs is a family that will give her the love and attention that she deserves. 1/18/2011

Sydney: is a 3 year old female smooth coat. She is a sweet girl that we rescued from a local shelter. She is spayed and current on all her vaccines. Sydney loves people, kids, and most other dogs. She is potty trained but needs obedience training cause she is young and full of energy. Sydney is just waiting for her forever family to give her the love and attention that she deserves. 1/18/2011

Sonny: is a 5 year old male rough coat. He is a sweet boy that we rescued from a local shelter along with his sister Cher. Both Sonny and his sister Cher were left tied in the backyard with no food or water for almost 2 weeks before animal control was called. He is neutered and current on all his vaccines. Sonny loves people, fine with other dogs, and even seems to be OK with cats. He has lots of energy so he will require basic obedience training. Sonny is just waiting for his forever family to give him the love and attention that he deserves. 1/18/2011

Shiloh’s: Birthday 9/23/2009 I had a dream once and I think it was about you. I dreamt of a loving family that was my very own and loved me my whole life. Let me start by telling you a little about me. My name is Shiloh and I am 1 Year and 3 months old and a St. Bernard. I am a little under weight but I’m working on that. I do love food and get along with big and little dogs. I just love to get my ears scratched all day if I could. I’m still working on my down command, but I have “sit” down pretty good. I am excellent in my potty training and I’m crate trained. I’m not a big drooler; I heard that’s a good thing. Please tell me my dream has come true. Shiloh is stubborn and a bit pushy She loves dogs & people She is very goofy and loves to play and play. 1/16/2011

Saint: Hi my name is Saint and I have lots of puppy power. I am around 9-10 months old and just full of beans. I love to run and play and just crave affection from people. Due to personal hardship, my former family could not give me the attention and training I needed and so now I live among the Arizona Saint Bernard Rescue pack. But I really do want a home and a family to love and help complete my training. People say I am good natured, handsome and have a very pretty face . If you have room in your heart for a BIG puppy and time on your hands to train me, I’m eager to learn and want to be your boy. 1/15/2011

Layla: I’m a beautiful 1 year old old female Saint Bernard/American Bulldog mix. I like running with other dogs and I may be ok with cats (not sure though). I like people of all ages and my former family had 8 and 10 year old children that I played with. I’m energetic in my play so sometimes I accidentally knock someone down but I’m learning to be more careful. I’m housetrained, I attended basic obedience class and I’m proud to say I passed at the top of my class. Being a puppy I still have some learning to do and I know you can help me with that and I’m very smart and a quick learner. I would love an active family or person who I could go on walks with, maybe hiking or jogging too. 1/15/2011

Misty: This delightful little lady is three year old Misty. She’s a roughcoat (longhaired) young beauty with lovely markings. Misty is spayed, completely vaccinated, and heartworm-negative. She has done well with obedience training, responds to basic commands, and walks nicely on leash. Her very favorite thing is hanging with her humans, and she’s the ultimate velcro dog. If you want a loyal, attentive, loving dog to share your walks, to keep you company on car rides, and to make you the center of the universe, Misty is your girl. She will do best in a family with older kids. (Her swishy tail will likely knock over the little ones.) Though she gets along with some male dogs, she would prefer to be the family’s only pet (and no cats please) so she can get all the attention. Originally living with seven or eight other dogs, she sort of got “lost in the pack”. She received limited attention, limited socialization, and sadly, limited food. She was thin and frightened when she first came into our program but has begun to blossom under the loving care of her special foster family. And the transformation has been remarkable! Misty has gained weight, her coat is fuller and softer, and there’s excitement in her eyes. She has learned to enjoy individualized attention and prefers not having to share food, toys, and love. Misty is not a dog who will do well in a dog park — too much stimulation and too many distractions. But make room for her on the couch and she’ll be your new best friend. The successful candidate will have a fenced yard, older kids, and lots of time to lavish on sweet Misty (a retired person maybe??). How can you resist her pretty little face? She’s longing for a home and family of her very own. That shouldn’t be too much to ask. She SO deserves it. Give her a call. She’d love to meet you. 1/10/2011

Apollo:, Starbuck: & Boomer: These 3 lucky little pups are about 16 weeks old. We think they are possibly Great Pyr mixes. They were pulled from a shelter where they were at risk of never making it to Christmas! They were reported to be “Saint Bernard mixes”, and although they don’t really appear to be so, they sure are cute and needed the help. They have been vaccinated, dewormed, and are scheduled for spay/neuter very soon. The black pup is a male (we named him Apollo), and the other 2 ( Starbuck & Boomer) are females. They are very affectionate, and the foster says they are fairly well behaved too, for puppies! They are being fostered in the Houston, TX area. 1/10/2011

Jamie: Hi, I’m Jamie – a longhaired 3 to 4 year old female. I was turned into rescue along with three of my children having never been out of a pen. I’m a very happy girl and interested in everything around me. My foster Mom is working on some training but I definitely need lots of it! My previous life was just producing puppies and I was great at it. I’m learning what people are all about and I’m told that my temperament is wonderful. I need a home with lots of patience since I’m just learning what life is all about. I need to put on about 20lbs. as I’m on the skinny side but we’re working on that. I’ve been spayed, dewclaws removed and had eye surgery so I have a new outlook on life. Will you be the one to share it with me? 1/5/2011

Hoss: Meet Hoss At just a year old Hoss has never met a stranger. He loves people, other dogs, and gets along well with cats. He is housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. LOVES to go for car rides. He is neutered, chipped, wormed, and all vaccinations are current. LOVES toys and treats. Looking for a forever home and a belly rub. 1/4/2011

Stella: this pretty girl is a 2 year old female smoothcoat St. Bernard. Stella is a spunky girl who loves attention! She is quite a pistol with a lot of personality. She gets along with other dogs but she is an alpha female. She would do just fine as an only dog. Stella was rescued from the local shelter and is waiting for her new, loving and forever home, please. Spayed, shots, microchip. 1/3/2011

Sampson: I am a 3 yr old neutered male weighing in at 113 lbs. A stray to the animal shelter, my owner never claimed me and now I need a new family to love me. I am up to date on shots and heart worm tested negative. I’m a little under weight due to having worms when I arrived and should put on another 10 lbs. I like attention from my owner and enjoy the company of other pets. If I am left alone in the backyard for a long period of time, I will dig my way out to be with my owner. I use a doggy door to get inside and out when needed. I love to be in the house with my owner as well as enjoy riding in the car. I’m working on walking on a leash, but I sit very well on command and come to when I’m called and take my treats gently. Will you take me into your home? 1/3/2011

Burg: is a 15-month old male rough coat Saint Bernard who was apprehended during an animal cruelty case along with his friends Pete and Suzi. Burg was left on a chain much of the time and was not given proper food, water, or daily care. He is currently learning the ways of living in a safe and comfortable home. He is great with other dogs and loves to play. He is a little fearful of people most certainly due to lack of socialization however he is coming around very quickly. He loves his treats and his food! He will need a family with the patience to socialize and work with him on basic training. He has a tremendous amount of love to give and is making great strides with his foster family. Despite his rough beginnings he is in relatively good shape. Burg is scheduled to be neutered soon. He needed to be shaved due to severe tick infestation and horrible matting of his coat. With proper nutrition and care his coat is bound to grow back beautifully. 1/3/2011

Daisy: turned 2 years old in Nov. Daisy is such a sweet dog โ€“ her markings are terrific, and she is very submissive. She has attended training and while she is a smart girl, doesn’t appear to need mental challenges to keep her entertained all the time. Daisy will wander around at night (to find the coolest spot in the house). She is a rough coat so she sheds a lot, but does not drool unless food is involved. Daisy is protective of the house but there has only been one person she ever growled at โ€“ the exterminator! She has a very sweet temperament, and is great with other dogs as well. She has lived with cats and gets along with them. She is just so submissive and sweet. She snores at night too, and is kinda funny to have around. Daisy does not tolerate the heat well, and she is obsessed with water. The water has to be watched or she will drink it all, then you’ll have to watch her bladder. In fact, she loves water so much, that her previous family used to giver her that during training instead of treats! 1/3/2011

George: is a neutered male 8mo rough coat DOB 4/6/2010. His hobbies include sleeping on the sofa, eating and playing outside w/ the big dogs. 1/2/2011

Roxy: Come meet our beautiful miss Roxy because pictures just can’t show you her beauty. She is the sweetest seven year old you could ever meet. She came in at least forty pounds underweight and barely alive. She is putting on weight everyday and has her spunk and energy back. She gets along with other dogs, very well mannered and so loves people. She has our hearts here at the rescue and we would so love her to have a home that gives her the love she missed during her previous years of life. 1/2/2011

Ozzie: is a shorthaired 2 year old male. He is very loving, knows some of the basic commands, housetrained and we are told gets along with his feline friends. Should go to a home with kids over the age of seven due to still being somewhat of a puppy and wanting to jump up on you for loves. He is learning to not do this and to wait with all fours on the ground for loves. Update on Ozzie (11/25/2010) he went to his foster home this past Monday and he is doing wonderful. Only thing he has to work on is not getting on the couch when family is trying to sit on the couch;) He has met all the dogs and cats ignores the cats and gets along with the dogs. Loves the kids. Went to Petco and did great except for thinking he could just go check out all the treats on his own time;) 1/2/2011
