439 Adopted (Placed) Saint Bernards 2008
These dogs are no longer available to find dogs available for adoption please click (here).

Gracie: Grace is a 1- 1 1/2 year old female smudge coat. She is very hyper and loves to be around people. She does have some separation anxiety and will need some help with that. She is very willing to please and will make a great companion. She is great with other dogs and has not been tested around cats yet, but we think would be fine with them. 12/31/2008

Bernie: 5 month old male smudge coat. He is crate trained, but needs a little help with his housebreaking skills. He loves to be around other dogs, but cats are unknown. He would be a great addition to any family. 12/31/2008

Cassie: is about 4 years old. She is emaciated, and needs alot of groceries and TLC. Cassie is current on vaccines, and has been de-wormed. She is lightly heartworm positive. Cassie has a very sweet temperament, and wants to please her family. She is very loyal and would love a family to call her own. Cassie is interested in cats (we aren’t sure if that is bad or good yet), and gets along well with other dogs. Cassie loves children. She will be spayed prior to adoption, once she gains some weight. 12/31/2008

Thor: is a 3 yr male. He is up to date on his shots and neutered. In need of a new home. 12/31/2008

Clyde: is about 12 months old. He loves to run and play with other dogs outside. When he comes in all he wants to do is cuddle and be right by your side. 12/31/2008

Brutus: (Elizabethtown, PA) He is good around people and children (my nephew loves him), he is 4 years old, male, 165 lbs. or so, and i guess he could be considered rough coat. I don’t know the extend of his veterinary history, but my father could inform you on that. We don’t want to give him to an unloving home and all of the dogs on your website looked happy and loved. 12/28/2008

Max: This is Max. He is young and is a lovely smooth. He seems a little aggressive but I think when he is neutered a lot of that will stop. He is very friendly with people. Have not had him to Petsmart yet, so I don’t know about children. He is a lovely dog. I think he was bred by a good breeder. I believe he came from the pound and had been a stray. 12/23/2008

Eunice: is a 3 year old, smooth coated, sweetheart. Eunice is gentle and affectionate and enjoys being the center of her families attention. She knows basic obedience and has bee raised with children as young as infants, dogs and cats. She can be a bit dominant with some dog but not aggressive. Eunice would like a fenced in yard and some children to offer her unlimited belly rubs and love. Eunice is spayed, up to date on her shots, heart worm negative and has started on heart worm/flea/tick preventative. She is also house trained and crate trained. 12/22/2008

Lucy: is Saint Bernard/Great Pyr mix, like her half sister Baby. The girls look more like Pyrs but def have more of a Saintly disposition. Lucy is a wonderful out going girl- she will follow you to the ends of the earth. She is fine with other dogs although she does not seek out play etc she would also do fine in a home with cats and children. Lucy knows basic obedience but like Baby, needs some help with her leash manners. Lucy is also a dream for grooming and bathing which is a plus with that thick coat! She is spayed, up to date on her shots and heart worm negative. Lucy is also on flea/tick/heart worm preventative. A traditionally fenced yard is preferred, no invisible, no electric! 12/22/2008

BABY: (and her sister Lucy) are Saint Bernard/Great Pyr mixes. They have the long white coat of a pyr and the disposition of a saint. Baby is the half mask with one blue eye. She’s sweet and calm, she loves a belly rub and would enjoy being part of a family. She doesn’t care about other dogs, doesn’t mind cats and enjoys children. She knows basic obedience but will need some work on her leash manners. Baby is spayed, up to date on her shots, negative for HW and is current on flea/tick/hw preventative. A traditionally fenced yard is preferred. NO Electric or invisible! PS; These pictures do not do the girls any justice, they were taken before they were groomed! 12/22/2008

Wyatt: Willa: Winona: and Weezie: Meet Wyatt, Willa, Winona and Weezie – 4 beautiful Dane babies. These sweethearts came to us at 9 week old almost dead, flea and worm infested and covered with open wounds. They have been on antibiotics and have gained a lot of weight and are in much better health. They will be starting their vaccination routine shortly and will be available for adoption in a few weeks. Wyatt is a Harl boy, Willa a harl girl and Winona and Weezie are black females. Fenced yard is mandatory, Giant breed experience preferred, 12/22/2008

Uggs: is a 2.5 yo neutered male rough coat. He requested I not put his picture on the website until he gains more weight. He was turned into a shelter in the Atlanta area. He was so matted and covered in feces, that he had to be shaved down very short. He had multiple intestinal parasites and weighed 98 pounds. He is now up to 114 pounds but needs another 45-50 pounds to fill out his large frame. This guy has full mantle markings, huge feet and a beautiful large head w/ a full mask. He’s learning the rules here at the Rescata and is on medication for a urinary tract infection. If you are interested in getting a true diamond in the rough rescue Saint, please complete an adoption application. Note from Uggs; Things are great here at the Rescata. I went out to the pasture this morning to visit with the horses. Unfortunately a fence I could squeeze under last week had shrunk. Bear was trying to help me out by pulling me by my ear when Dr. Sara and Steve got there. They said something about good morning.. rude awakening… it was only 6 AM. My urinary tract infection is much better. My back bone shows very little now. I’m beefing up and getting ready for my internet debut of pics. Dr. Sara’s daughter Heather calls me a retard.. I think she likes me. 12/19/2008

Annie: Dear Santa; My name is Annie. I am housebroken, quiet and very loving. No one knows exactly how old I am, but they say 3-4 years. My old family left me abandoned in the house when they moved out. I came into rescue covered with fleas and my skin felt like leather. You can see from the photos that I was in bad shape. My foster mom is working very hard to fix me up. I have enough food, flea treatment and medicated baths now, and I am beginning to feel like a princess! I like other dogs, and I love all people, although sometimes I am a little shy when I first meet them. I am being fostered in the Austin, TX area. 12/18/2008

Socks: Socrates or ‘Socks’ as his foster mom loves to call him is a wonderful boy that has come a long way since he first found his way into our program. Socks is crate trained, housebroken, fully vetted, heartworm negative and on prevention. Socks has been through basic training and walks well on a gentle leader. He recently completed advanced training and will test for his canine good citizen award in a few weeks. When Socks first came to us he was heartworm positive and untrained. Socks was successfully treated for heartworms last year and has had extensive training. Socks is fully vetted. He is up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative and on preventative, neutered, professionally groomed and has even had x-rays of his hips to ensure there are no serious hip issues that can be present in some giant breeds. Socks is about 2 years old. 12/13/2008

Donnie: Looking for a Saint Bernard but don’t want the size? Meet Donnie, a 10 month old handsome man, who will probably top out at 70-80 pounds. He is a very small Saint, a mini, and looks like a 6 month old pup! Quite the cutie! He is housebroken, crate trained, good with other dogs, cats, and kids. 12/10/2008

Dwight: This big 10 month old boy came to us from an Illinois shelter after his owners simply turned him free from their yard. The decided he was just “too big”. He is a very nice boy who just needs a dedicated person to take him to obedience class and make him a respectable young man. He loves people, other dogs, and is good with cats. He would do best in a home with children over 8 years old as he is too big for his own good and does not realize his size. Have we mentioned that he is gorgeous?? For more info on how you can make this handsome man a part of your family, please contact us. 12/10/2008

Champ: 4 to 5 yr old male , up to date on shots. 12/10/2008

Bruno: 2 years old, weighs 93 lbs. Bruno is very laid back and likes to be close to his owner. He likes cats and kids. He needs work on the leash. He knows his name and comes when he is called. He likes to be close to you when outside. He doesn’t like to stay outside without his owner. The thunderstorms frighten him and he needs to be very close to his owner. He gets along with all dogs and is very passive. He likes to ride in the car. He gets very attached to his owner and misses her during the day and awaits her return with excitement. He is very easy and adapts to the working persons work schedule. He has cute freckles on his nose that everyone loves. 12/10/2008

Tubby: Tubby is a handsome man who came into rescue from the same breeder as Sebastian, Maggie, and Susie. He was born 02-23-03. He has much more energy than his father, Sebastian, and is a fun loving dog. He has not had any training and will need a new home committed to continue working with a dog in need of some manners. He will reward you with lots of love. Tubby is fine with other dogs, but not with cats according to his previous owner. Because of his need for training, we would only consider a home with older children. Tubby is located in Michigan, but we will arrange transportation to get Tubby to his new home. 12/7/2008

Goliath: is a two year old neutered male that is a ball of energy. He loves to be with his humans big or small. He is trustworthy at home alone but rescue would prefer him to be crated as he seems to be demonstrating some signs of separation anxiety. Goliath is a talker and would love nothing better than to hold a conversation with you throughout the day. His foster mom is discouraging this and is teaching him that alerting her to the fact of “I need to go potty” is plenty enough of a conversation for her. Goliath is good with cats as well as dogs but tends to play too rough when he first meets a potential canine friend. It is so odd to see that his manner of introducing himself to cats and small dogs is so much better than big ones. When he is first with a dog of his own size it’s almost like he is saying,” Whoo Hoo I can really play hard now!” Once he gets to know them he will calm down and play nicely like a gentleman. 12/7/2008

Jasper: is about two years old. He is a sweet, loving, housebroken male rough coat Saint. Jasper has been vaccinated, dewormed, and is scheduled to be neutered soon. He has tested positive for heartworms, so his slow treatment will also begin soon. Jasper is good with other dogs, but does not like cats. He needs some obedience training, but Jasper wants to please! He arrived at rescue weighing 107 lbs. and needs to gain some additional weight to reach his prime. 12/7/2008

Daisy: Wanna play? Daisy sure does! Want sloppy kisses? Daisy will give them! Daisy is a year old pup of unknown breeding (no Saint Bernard here-she is only about 50 lbs), but she is sweet, playful, and needs a family to call her own. Daisy is great with kids and other dogs. She is smart, and willing to learn. She would make a great agility dog. Daisy is spayed, current on all vaccines, and tested negative for heartworms. 12/7/2008

Hoover: is an 8 mo old neutered male rough coat. He was adopted from the original owner. The new owners Great Dane did not like him so he came to us. We are working on his social skills and helping him build confidence. 12/3/2008

Buddha: is a handsome boy! We believe he is a Saint/Shepherd mix. Buddha is 1 year old and is very playful and energetic. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He still has lots of puppy in him and will require some additional training. 12/1/2008

TESS: is a 4 year old spay, longhaired female. She is a very sweet gal who just loves to play. Tess seems to do well around the other dogs, but may be dominant with other female dogs, as she had been a breeding female before she came into rescue. She is just waiting for a family to call her own. Tess is a very affectionate dog with people and has lots of love to give. 12/1/2008

Sierra: Longhaired female – approximately 8 months of age. Sierra came into rescue as a stray with her sister, Phoebe. I don’t think that the girls were abused but just unsocialized. She like her sister has learned how to eat from a bowl and we’re working on leash training. Sierra walks with her tummy on the ground when on leash. She will need lots of socialization but she is a real sweetie. She has been completely vetted. 11/29/2008

Cindy: is a 3 year old, 1/2 mask, rough coat Saint Bernard. She came to us from a breeder that was going out of business. Since she’s not having puppies any longer she’s realized that she’s still got a lot of puppy left in her. Cindy will have to go to a family with a 6ft fence since Cindy has an inquisitive nature. Would you like to give Cindy her forever home?? Cindy has been spayed, is fully vaccinated, on heartworm and flea/tick preventative as well as microchipped. 11/28/2008

Boomer: is a small, rough coat Saint Bernard that was surrendered to us by a good Samaritan that saved her, along 3 others in need of love and care. She’s a very very gentle girl that is looking for her forever home. 11/28/2008

Walter: is a 9 month old, rough coat, full masked Saint Bernard. He’s going through his tall lanky growth phase but will be a beautiful big boy when he gets to his full weight. He’s a playful pup that is looking for his new forever home. 11/28/2008

Waldo: is a full, dark mask that knows his basic commands with leash training. He knows hot to sit and stay. He’s still got a lot of puppy in him and would be a great addition to your family. 11/28/2008

Buckles: My name is Buckles. I am an 11 month old purebred neutered male Saint puppy. My owner loved me, but couldn’t keep me anymore. Although I have a great personality, I have some physical challenges. I have a condition known as hip dysplasia, so I don’t walk normal. One leg is actually longer than the other too. I also have elbow dysplasia, so my front leg hurts too. I hope to get surgery soon, to help me walk better when I am older, so I can have a more pain free life. The OK and TX rescues are working together to try to raise some $ for my surgery. I can’t join your family until I am better, but maybe you have a coin or two to put towards my surgery? It will likely be a few thousand dollars, I heard my foster mom say. I guess they love me a lot in rescue. 11/28/2008

Nina: is a 19 month old, long haired female. Due to economic hardship Nina’s family had to give her up to rescue. She comes from a family with four children and one other dog, and her previous owner says that she got along great with everybody. Nina is friendly, energetic and obedient. She walks well on a leash, loves to ride in the car, is eager to please, and just wants to be near you . She is a very cute girl with wonderful markings and she weighs about 130 lbs. Before being adopted she will be spayed, micro-chipped and UTD. 11/26/2008

Muffin: HI! I am Muffin! My foster mom says I look like a muffin too because I really need to lose some weight! I am a real big girl! I am super sweet though and love to lick lick lick! I am spayed and healthy. I do ok on a leash, but have had no formal training. I just came into rescue, so my foster mom is still trying to figure me out right now. I obviously LOVE other people of all kinds, but since I need some training, I should be in a house with children over 10 years old. They are still trying to figure out if I can go to a family with other pets, so check with my foster family for more info on that. I really love to cuddle and would love a new family to keep warm on these cold winter nights! 11/25/2008

Jackie: is 3 yo rough coat spayed female that came back to us. Her Adoptive family had a surprise 2 legged addition to their family. The baby is extremely allergic to pet dander. Jackie originally came to us from the Jacksonville Fl shelter. She has acclimated back here very well. She’s a bit overweight but is on an exercise program on our 30 acres. Happy dog, has done well thus far with our menagerie of dogs, cats and horses. 11/24/2008

Max: is a 3 yo neutered male rough coat. He was adopted in May and returned to us last week end. The adopter had to take a second job and no longer had enough time for Max. 11/24/2008

Bear: came to us with a 12 yr old saint who has left his friend. Bear is a 8 yr old male good with other dogs. He needs a good loving home to live out his years. 11/22/2008

Layla: is 3 or 4 years old. She is very affectionate Saint. She will be Spay and current on her shots. 11/22/2008

Daisy: She is approximately 2 1/2 years old, is housebroken, and doesn’t mind getting a bath. She is very loving and affectionate and seems to be very good with young children. Daisy likes to have her belly rubbed and sometimes thinks she is a lap dog. She is a huge baby during thunderstorms! Daisy is learning how to walk like a lady on a leash (she gets a bit excited when she gets to go for a walk). She is up-to-date on all her vaccines. 11/22/2008

Chloe: is a 4yr old female who is kind of shy at first but warms up quick she likes to run around and play and loves attention. she is great with kids and other dogs. 11/22/2008

Marma”Duke”: is a 1 year old rough-coat, tri-colored male with ½ mask. He has very good manners for his age, does quite well on a leash, and is housebroken and crate trained. “Duke” lives with a 10 year old child and a 2 year old female Saint Bernard at his foster home, and gets along with everyone wonderfully. He very much wants to be part of the family (in your lap if you let him), is quick to adapt to the rules and eager to please you. This boy will melt your heart without warning! He is fully vetted including microchipped, and is eager and ready to go to his forever home! 11/18/2008

Champ: was a stray that was picked up by an animal control organization that was lucky enough to have a animal hospital with it and very caring people. Very underweight, infested with fleas, and tested positive for heartworm. They were going to euthanize him until they found WSBR rescue. After wonderful volunteers that transported him to WSBR he is in a foster home being treated for heartworm. 11/17/2008

General: This handsome man came to us from a Central Illinois shelter after his owners did not realize “how big Saints get”. He is a very sweet boy who gets along well with other dogs and children. He is quite the lover. He is estimated to be 1-2 years old. 11/16/2008

Fiona: Princess Fiona is the fairest in the land. With her beautiful face and magnificent personality, who could not love her?? She is approximately 7 years old and is great with dogs, cats, and children. She will be available for adoption in the middle of May but we will be accepting applications. Poor Fiona has been casted a spell of heartworm disease and she will be treated before she can find her one true love! 11/16/2008

Isabella: Hi! I am Isabella! So sweet and lively!!! My old family did not want me anymore, so now I am looking for a new lease on life. They say I am 7, but I feel like I am 3. No stiff joints, I love to run and play, and am in terrific health! I do not like rabbits and small farm animals, but at my foster mom’s house I have two French bulldogs to play with and I love them, and I love children. Will you please bring me home? 11/16/2008

Blueberry: We have a new schnauzer!!! She needs a good home. Her name is Blueberry because she reminds me of Rasberry, another dog we placed several years ago. She is great with kids and loves to sleep under the covers with them. She is great with other dogs and is housebroken. She is a wonderful house dog. She is vetted and ready to go! 11/15/2008

Shelby: is a 3 year old smooth coat spayed female Saint. She weighs about 120 lbs, and is current on vaccines. She is crate trained, housebroken, loves to swim, and is good with kids and other small dogs. She has not been around cats or other large dogs, so we are not sure of her temperament with them. Shelby needs to find a new home as her current owner’s family situation has changed. The photos are her puppy years, but she is still every bit as cute and loveable now as an adult. Shelby has not yet been tested for heartworms, but will be prior to her adoption. 11/15/2008

TUGGER: The economy has been particularly tough on pets. Tugger and his friend Dani are victims of foreclosure. They’re trying to figure out where their family went and how come they’re not on their own beds in their own house. Handsome Tugger (we also call him Tugboat) is a six-year-old roughcoat gentleman who is neutered, housetrained, HW-negative and vaccinated. He is gentle with young children, and does fine with most other dogs as long as they’re spayed/neutered. He even likes cats. He offers his paw and gives gentle kisses. Tugger’s favorite things include hot dogs and other human foods (we don’t encourage that) as well as stuffed toys. We want him to have a fenced yard and would prefer a Saint- or giant-breed-experienced adopter. Tug’s an exceedingly sweet boy who still has a whole lot of love to give some lucky family. 11/14/2008

Maddie: is a 20 month old rough coat female. She is a dog focused on her love of life and all things in it. She is playful, loyal, and very happy go lucky. She loves attention from people of all ages and loves her canine friends, however she does like to chase cats and farm animals but it’s more in fun then in intent to harm. Because of this the rescue would prefer a home with no livestock or kitties. Maddie is a big girl for her age and is on the large size for a female saint. She is fun-loving, easy going and very playful. She loves to go for walks and to meet new friends. She knows sit, lay down and stay. She is a bit of a drooler and has no health ailments. She is a special girl, who is extremely sweet and affectionate. If you give this lady a loving home she is sure to return the favor and adore you until the end of time. 11/12/2008

Sadie: 5 and 1/2 mo old Saint/Pyr mix. Longhaired. Sadie is a delightful puppy. She loves to play and is really a good girl. She was turned into rescue because she was acting like her age. She loves attention, walks well on a lead and gets along with other dogs – both males and females. Before adoption, she will be spayed and utd on all shots and micro chipped. She is now on Heartworm preventative. Looking forward to her forever home that she so deserves. 11/12/2008

Mary: is a 6 yo smooth coated spayed female. She was adopted by a family, but returned to us because she preferred to be inside versus outside playing with the children. 11/11/2008

Nana: is a 3 year old splash coat female saint. She is very well trained and knows her obedient commands. Nana gets along well with submissive dogs, especially males, but is a bit snotty with females so rescue is looking for a home without other pets or with a submissive male dog. Nana is an up your butt buddy that enjoys being with her human. She is trustworthy being left alone at home all day but REALLY REALLY enjoys having her family come home in the evenings and spending special time with her. The down side of Nana is her coat. She is truly a long haired saint. Her coat is extremely thick and tends to matt easily. Her new owners will need to commit to combing her with a metal comb weekly and having her professional groomed every couple of month. Rescue had to trim her coat shorter than we would have liked too but it was the only way to remove those horrible mats. Nana was a trooper throughout her grooming session. We think she thought she was getting a massage and languished in the attention. 11/10/2008

Mark: is a full masked, rough coat (long hair) male Saint. He is believed to be approximately 4 years old. Mark was picked up by animal control and his family did not claim him. Mark has a beautiful mahogany coat. He has played with the other dogs and seems to get along fine. However, we have noted one problem. You cannot feed another dog near him or give another dog a treat. He gets very threatening. Mark walks well on a leash as long as you set a good pace. 11/9/2008

Winston: is a rough coat Saint who is about a year old. He still has a lot of puppy in him and a deal of growing to do. He can be a little hyper when he first meets you but he settles down quickly. He likes other dogs but we are not sure about cats. 11/9/2008

Gretchen: is 9 – 10 mo old female. She is very much a puppy. She gets along with other dogs She is housetrained. 11/9/2008

Carson: Longhaired male – approximately 18 mos old. This is a really cute boy! His vet work is being done this week so he will be looking for his new forever home in another week or so. He gets along at the foster home with other dogs and cats. Probably older children as he has a lot of energy although we have not had him around children as of yet. He seems to love everyone he meets. Loves going on walks. Carson would be a great addition in anyone’s home. 11/5/2008

Julius: is a 10 year old rough coat boy. He has lived with his owner all his life but unfortunately due to health issues his owner had to release him to rescue. Poor Julius was adopted back in May but his new owners have moved and were unable to take him with them. Once again this poor boy, in his senior years, is displaced. All Julius wants is someone he can love and cuddle with. He was spoiled by his new owners so he does tend to bark a bit when left alone and his waistline has increased due to too many treats . Julius would be best placed in a home without cats. 11/5/2008

Annabelle: is a 2.5 year old female Saint. She is loving, and does well with other dogs. She is learning to tolerate cats. Annabelle is a small Saint, and is the sister to Thelma and Louise. She thrives on attention, and is housebroken. She needs obedience training, but always aims to please. Annabelle was neglected, but still loves and trusts people. She is current on medical and will be spayed soon. 11/2/2008

Noble: is a sweet housebroken male (about 5 years old). His former owners were unable to care for him after the father died suddenly of a heart attack. He is a gentle giant who follows basic commands and is great with kids and other dogs. He likes to be an indoor-outdoor dog since the heat is so fierce in Texas, and he has long hair. He is fearful of thunder and gunshots and must be inside during storms. He has been a joy to foster and we hope that someone wonderful is waiting to take him to his new home. He is up to date on shots, and will be neutered in the next few weeks. He has tested positive for heartworms. 11/2/2008

Louise: is the sister to Thelma. She is a rough coat female, already spayed and current on all vaccines. Louise was a thin fragile cruelty case, but is now growing beautiful fur and has a loving sweet personality. Louise likes other dogs, and seems indifferent to cats. She will make a wonderful family pet, and can be adopted separately from Thelma. 11/2/2008

Zack: is a beautiful rough coat boy about 2 years old. He loves kids and gets along well with other dogs. He loves to play with everyone. He is house trained and walks well on a leash. He is pretty much an all round great dog. 11/1/2008

Phoebe: Longhaired female – approx. 8 months old. Phoebe came into rescue with her sister, Sierra, as a stray. These two puppies have not had the perfect life but we’re working on it. Phoebe now knows what a bowl is so she doesn’t have to eat off the ground and she is learning what a leash is but will probably take awhile. She has improved immensely during the last week. She plays with her sister and another female that is about the same age. They all get along with no problems. Phoebe will need lots of socialization but we haven’t seen an ounce of aggression. She is afraid but seems to be curious enough to check things out. Phoebe is completely vetted. 10/30/2008

Angus: Hello! My name is Angus. I was given my name after my foster parents saw how skinny I was when I came to stay with them. They said that I could really use a cheeseburger! Although I haven’t been given one yet, they are still feeding me regularly, which is much more than what I’ve been used to in the past! I came to Illinois Saint Bernard Rescue about 50 pounds under-weight. I am an 18-month old male with a big appetite and an even bigger heart. I love playing with my foster brothers and sister in the backyard. I’m a little curious about the cats that I live with, but I just want to play, and they don’t seem to want to do the same. If you want a dog that is fun, energetic, loving, and a fantastic companion, then I am you guy! 10/29/2008

Missy: is a 7 mo old longhaired female who will steal your heart. She loves to give kisses and loves car rides. She’s had basic obedience and does well on a leash. She loves everyone and everything. Good with other dogs and kids of all ages. Not sure about cats, but she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She’s been an inside dog and is housetrained and looking for her forever home. 10/28/2008

Rusty: is a 3 year old rough coated male that is great with people kids and other dogs. He is very playful and energetic. He needs an active home that will walk him and play with him often. He is very sweet and just wants to play. 10/27/2008

Marmaduke: Meet Marmaduke Duke for call name he is 11 months old #121 housebroken shots are current wormed neutered Micro chipped good with people dogs and cats (although proper introductions are a must) Is learning house manners and obedience 101 crate training also in progress. Needs groceries and lots of attention. Will absolutely blossom with TLC. He is a tri color with an unusual half mask .He has black eyeliner around the white close to the eye. He is very smart and a very quick learner. He is a happy boy. micro chipped too!! 10/23/2008

KOSMO: Kosmo’s an affable, social two-year-old roughcoat (longhaired) boy who came into Rescue because his owners had no time for him. He’s neutered, housetrained, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and negative for heartworm. Kosmo enjoys hanging out with the family. He likes nothing more than lying on the floor watching TV with his humans as long as they’re giving him tummy rubs. He’s great with kids as young as newborns, and he interacts appropriately with other dogs. We’d prefer a fence, though a fenced yard isn’t mandatory for the adopter who is committed to lots of one-on-one playtime and long, leisurely walks. He’s a wonderful young boy and he’s waiting to meet you! 10/22/2008

DANI: Dani is a delightful three-year-old roughcoat girl who came into Rescue along with her buddy Tugger when the family’s home was foreclosed. She’s spayed, housetrained, vaccinated, and HW-negative. Her hips are not the best but she manages to do quite well on stairs as well as flat surfaces, and she readily gets in and out of the car. She plays well with other dogs and with cats. She’s been around children as young as newborns. Usually found with a tennis ball close by, Dani also likes stuffies, tummy rubs, and canned mackerel. She does know a few commands but could use a refresher course on leash-walking. She will need an adopter who can help her strengthen the muscles in her hind end. And she needs to lose 5-10 pounds. We’d prefer a fenced yard for her, and Saint experience would be a plus. 10/22/2008

NIKKI: This petite Newfoundland lass is three-year-old Nikki. You won’t find a sweeter dog on the planet. Nikki is spayed, vaccinated, HW-negative, microchipped and ready to charm some lucky family. The poor little darling had a mighty tough early life. She had already been bred several times before coming into our rescue program — she was skinny, flea-infested, with erlicchiosis (a tick-borne disease), AND PREGNANT. The fleas are gone. The erlicchiosis is cured. And her babies were all born healthy. She was a wonderful mama and took fabulous care of her pups. But now it’s Nikki’s turn to be cared for. She’s marvelous with children. She plays nicely with other dogs and is reported to be good with cats. Though it’s not essential, we’d prefer that she have a fenced yard. She’ll be a terrific pet for a family willing to lavish attention on her. If you’re looking for a velcro dog, Nikki just may be your girl. And if you don’t mind having a dog curled up in your lap, she’s DEFINITELY your girl. The ideal family will have children and another dog to keep Nikki company. 10/22/2008

FINN: Finn’s a wonderful young fellow whose family felt he needed more time and attention than they could provide, given their busy lives, and they made the painful decision to surrender him to Saint Rescue. He just turned one year old (Happy Birthday, Finn!). He’s a roughcoat (longhair) who is vaccinated, neutered, housetrained, microchipped, and HW-negative. Finn plays nicely with other dogs but hasn’t yet met a cat. He’s been around children successfully, and seems to be quite intuitive around toddlers — it’s like he knows he must be very gentle with them. Finn’s a sweet soul who delights in going along for car rides, playing with stuffies or a ball, and hanging with his humans. He’s a smart boy who knows several commands, and walks well on leash. A fenced yard is strongly preferred. Finn would like a family with kids and another dog to play with. 10/22/2008

DUTCH: This handsome fellow is 4-year-old Dutch. He’s a roughcoat who is housetrained, neutered, vaccinated and heartworm-negative. Dutch is a big guy who was a bit too much dog for his family’s toddler. (That big swishy tail kept knocking the baby down, something the baby just didn’t care for.) Dutch will do well with children over age 8 or so. He’s a dynamite boy who does well with most submissive dogs and doesn’t mind the occasional cat. Like most of us he needs to drop 10-12 pounds to reach perfection. Dutch will need a fenced yard. We’d prefer a family with Saint- or giant-breed experience. Here’s the best part — He’s so tall you don’t even need to bend over to pet him. And if you’re a serious giver of ear rubs he’ll be your friend for life. If you look closely at his left side you’ll see a perfect outline of a heart. How cool is that! 10/22/2008

PHOENIX: You have to wonder how a human (term used loosely here) can be so cruel to an innocent, WONDERFUL dog. Phoenix has had it VERY rough in his two short years. He’s been starved. He’s been hit. He’s been spoken to harshly. He has spent his whole life since he was a little puppy tethered to a tree in the backyard by a plastic-coated wire cable. The dog grew. The cable stayed the same size. You know the rest. The cable was embedded TWO INCHES into his neck. The wound was disgusting and has required three surgeries to remove all the dead tissue. It’s finally healing nicely and he’ll have no ill effects. Phoenix is a tall boy but is 25 pounds underweight; we’re working on packing some weight on him. He has completed four weeks of antibiotics to treat Lyme disease. Phoenix has gotten his spark back. He runs. He frolics. He loves to give kisses. The joy is returning to his eyes. Though he’s made remarkable progress he still has a way to go. Phoenix will need to be neutered before placement; we’re just waiting for him to get a little stronger and heavier. The successful candidate will have a fenced yard and will be committed to completing formal obedience with Phoenix. Interested in meeting him? He’s a joy. Someone’s going to be VERY lucky. 10/22/2008

STELLA: She’s pretty. She’s gentle. She’s AMAZING. Three-year-old Stella is a smoothcoat (shorthaired) Saintly lady who’s sweet beyond belief. She is spayed, vaccinated, and HW-negative. She’s housetrained. And she gives soft kisses. Miss Stella landed in Rescue through no fault of her own, and she’d very much like to be part of a family again. Stella gets along well with children of all ages. She likes other dogs. She doesn’t even mind the occasional cat. And she has successfully completed basic obedience. We’d prefer that she have a fenced yard. Come and meet her. You won’t be disappointed! 10/22/2008

MATILDA: Isn’t she cute? Little Matilda is just 17 months old and hasn’t had the easiest life thus far. Though she wasn’t physically abused she has been neglected (and neglect IS a form of abuse). She is quite thin and skittish and hasn’t decided whether she should trust humans. Let’s help her change that opinion. Tillie is spayed, vaccinated and HW-negative. Though she’s not completely reliable when it comes to housetraining she’s about 98% there. She does well with other dogs and is reported to be friendly with cats though she hasn’t interacted with one while here in Rescue. She is recovering from eye surgery and soon will be ready to meet her new family. Maybe that’ll be you! Won’t you help Tillie learn that humans can be gentle and food bowls can be full? 10/22/2008

Howe: Howe and his brother Harry were found living together in the basement of an elderly couple’s home. He is estimated to be about 5 years old. Howe is a rough coat but because his coat was matted and full of feces, he had to be shaved. He will have a beautiful full coat of hair in no time. Howe is good with other dogs, kids, and cats. He is also good on leash and knows basic commands. Howe is a smaller saint. He currently weighs 115 pounds and could stand to lose a couple pounds. 10/22/2008

Harry: Harry and his brother Howe were found living together in the basement of an elderly couple’s home. He is estimated to be about 5 years old. Harry is a rough coat but because his coat was matted and full of feces, he had to be shaved. He will have a beautiful full coat of hair in no time. Harry is good with other dogs, kids, and cats. He is also good on leash and knows basic commands. Harry s a smaller saint. He currently weighs 104 pounds and could stand to lose a couple pounds. 10/22/2008

Samson: Samson is a 5 year old male rough coat saint. He has a great personality and gets along with kids and other dogs. Cats are an unknown. He does well on a leash and knows sit on command-even better if you have a treat. He loves to be brushed and hugged. He is a real lover of a dog. 10/22/2008

Ariel: 4 year old from cruelty case- suffers from heart problems, will be need to be on heart meds. Previously abused but sweet girl, OK with dogs, cats and children. 10/21/2008

Yogi: and Goliath: are brothers – both heartworm positive, like to escape- will need 6 foot stockade fence. The boys are heartworm positive and going through treatments. They are good with people and over all huge love bugs. Good with other dogs and love children. 10/21/2008

Jack: Handsome Jack! Jack is a 4 year old roughie- he’s vey people oriented and will follow you to the end of the earth. Jack is good with cats, and although he dose not enjoy the company other dogs, he tolerates them. He rides well in the car and loves running errands, he also likes to snuggle up on the couch and watch tv with you. Jack would enjoy a family with a lot of time to spend with him, preferably someone home all day, but he’s open to entertain other options. Jack would like a fenced in yard but it is not mandatory, he would also prefer a home without other dogs but wouldn’t mind cats. Jack is up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, neutered, and house trained. 10/21/2008

McDoogle: is a beautiful young male Saint with a thick coat and striking markings. He is neutered, current on vaccines, and seems to be housebroken. McD has tested positive for heartworms, but with regular preventative, the vet feels they should clear up in time without requiring further treatment. MCD is about a year old, and he is ready to adopt YOUR family to call ‘his’ own. His foster family has started working on obedience training him. McDoogle seems to like other dogs, and adores people! He weighs about 90 lbs. currently, and needs to gain quite a bit more to get him looking his finest. 10/20/2008

Scooter: This is Scooter she is a 9mo old female that is just a sweetheart. We are working with her on walking on a leash, For some reason she lays down when you put a leash on her and will not move for anything so we are working with her on that. She gets along with everyone and loves to give kisses. 10/18/2008

Maxie: sweet 5 yr. old female St. Bernard who lost her home and family because of the foreclosure crisis. This was the second home she has lost. Her first family gave her to the family that surrendered her to rescue, and they lost their home, too! Maxie is a loving, playful girl who is good around children and other dogs. 10/15/2008

Ruby: A 1-year old, happy, shorthair, spayed female. She has unique markings, halfmask & white with red spots. She is truly a great companion, she wants to be with humans not dogs. She gets along with other dogs and cats, but humans are her specialty. For more information on how you can bring this happy gal into your home, 10/15/2008

Sheeba: 13 month old, long haired, spayed female. Very sweet and loving. Housebroken and working on obedience training. Gets along with everyone. Ready to play and go for walks looking for adventure. 10/14/2008

Nadia: Is a 5 to 7 year old SWEET female Saint Bernard, spayed, shots, microchipped, HW neg and is on preventative meds. Obviously a rebel because she has a little tattoo on her belly. She was found loose in Lincoln City, OR the day after the Fourth of July and no owner could be located despite collar and tags. She has a wonderful sweet temperament, is very well behaved on the leash and in the home. Housebroken. She loves to lie around, especially in a wading pool! Not tremendously wet mouthed, but there is cause to have a towel handy! At 150 lbs she is a little overweight but is on a diet and could stand to lose about 10 more lbs. Her right knee does have a problem, and she has a little trouble getting up from the floor -but she is in no apparent pain. There is some stiffness in her hips which seems to be improving with fostering and daily Joint supplements. She is great with kids, and will eventually be so with cats with just a bit more socialization. She is working on her dog skills as she had no experience at first. She wants to be an indoor pet. She can live with other dogs and would prefer to do so however, she is a dominant female and may challenge for top dog position. This girl seems to have bounced from place to place and needs her “forever home” soon. 10/14/2008

Bear: is a big and loving saint. He seems to want to please. he is a social butterfly who likes everybody is about 6years old and a big boy who is looking for a loving family. He is a smooth coat/splash coat male who is a gentle giant that loves car rides and walks. He is up to date on shots and deserves a good home!!! 10/13/2008

Chelsea: is a small (about 68lbs) Saint Mix, She is very loving and affectionate. she gets along with other dogs, cats and likes to play with children. She is 2 1/2 yrs old. She has graduated from the K-9 Penpals class which sends dogs to the Nebraska Prison for training by the inmates. So she know sit, stay, down etc. she listens pretty well. 10/8/2008

Biscuit: this adorable guy is a two year old longhaired St. Bernard who was rescued from Pahrump, NV. His previous home did not have fencing and he kept getting out of his “yard!” Biscuit is a good boy who gets along with other dogs, is good around children and doesn’t mind cats! Neutered, shots, microchip. 10/6/2008

Little: is a 10 month old female smooth coat Saint puppy. She loves to play with other dogs, and is curious about cats. Little is up to date on all vaccines, and is a sweet loving girl. She is a special needs dog-as she is deaf. Little cannot hear you call her, or give her commands, so she will need to go to a home that is comfortable with training by methods such as hand signals. Little will need patience and time, but she seems to be a fast learner. She would do best in a home with other large adult dogs to guide and teach her. She plays rather rough, since she cannot hear another dog yelp, so she needs someone her own size to teach her some limitations and manners. 10/6/2008

Sheena: is a young female Saint that was found starved and hairless begging for love outside a restaurant in Austin. A kind family took her in, fed her, and got her looking beautiful! Now she has joined the rescue program and is looking for her forever family. Sheena is current on vaccines, and is scheduled to be spayed and tested for heartworms very soon. 10/6/2008

Minnie: is a two year old spay female. Rescue really doesn’t have a clear history on her. Children are unknown at this time. We do know that she was used for breeding and that didn’t work out well. Rescue got Minnie to the vet just in time as she had a horrible infection in her uterus which was life threatening. Amazingly we never even knew Minnie was ill because she was just so happy to be with us. This sweet doll has no manners or training. Although Minnie is like a little bull in a china cabinet, she’s a fast learner. You need to remember that even though she is two years old in body she is only a puppy at heart/mind. Taking her out to go to the bathroom was an adventure for rescue because Minnie didn’t have a clue what we wanted her to do. She is doing well with her potty skills though and hasn’t had any accidents in the house. Everything is an adventure to Minnie. Every little space, and behind every cabinet door needs to be inspected by her. I put my pocketbook down and before I knew it her nose was in it with her butt up in the air wiggling with joy and happiness. Minnie even put her nose under and between the couch pillows to see what they were all about. Whoever adopts Minnie must continue her training if she is to became a good house pet. Before she is allowed out of her crate in the morning she needs to sit and wait for me to put her leash and collar on. She is a tad short on patience. LOL It’s hysterical to watch the antics she goes through because all she can think about is saying, Good morning, pet me! pet me! Oh my god, PET ME!!! She will sit and wait with reminders but the crate is rocking and rolling the whole time because her butt and tail are wiggling so much. LOL The bad news about Minnie is that she needs to be the only pet in the house. Although she is not dog aggressive from time to time she does tend to stiffen and give a low growl at the other dogs in the household. It could be jealousy or as simple as she doesn’t want other dogs to be in her space. Once you speak to her she stops and walks away. 10/5/2008

Phiona: She is a dominant dog. She is hard headed, but such a sweet thing. She wants to be by your side. All she wants to do is please you. She loves kids and takes a little bit to warm up to other dogs. 10/2/2008

Patrick: 7 month old longhaired male. 9/30/2008

Lola: This sweet girl came to us after her owners divorced. She is 2 years old and is a smoothcoat (short hair). She is good with small children, dogs, and cats. She loves to romp and play and is a real doll! 9/30/2008

Spencer: This handsome 6 month old came to us after his owner could no longer keep him. He was covered in tar and was very timid and shy. He did not even know how to walk on a leash! He is getting better everyday and he is even giving kisses and giving paw. He has almost mastered the leash and loves people! He is good with other dogs, cats, and older children. Would you like to give Spencer the life he deserves? 9/30/2008

Bella: is a 7 mth old pup up to date on shots. Loves to play. 9/29/2008

Bogart: 4 year old neutered male, and in excellent health. Loves being indoors, around people/family/children, housetrained, and loves to sleep in your bedroom! Bogart enjoys going for walks and rides in the car, but could use some more socialization around other dogs if you take him out. Bonus: He does not drool! Can be very protective of his home environment. 9/29/2008

Nanna is a very large smooth coat saint, approximately 4 years old. She currently weighs in at 219 and is on a diet with exercise. New owners must be willing to continue with the weight loss goal. She is house trained and has lived with four children. Due to her size, her new family must have only older children. Nanna is dominant with other dogs and would do best in a one dog home. She is also an attention hog. Small dogs are a definite problem according to the previous owner. Cats are an unknown. 9/27/2008

Sheena: will be 1 yr old on Sept 28. She is full of fun but needs some basic training. Looking for a good home. 9/25/2008

CoryAnn: 3 yr. old, long haired, spayed female. CoryAnn is a big girl – 150 lbs. She is laid back, and very gentle with everyone. Housebroken and obedience trained. 9/23/2008

Thelma: is a young rough coat female Saint. She is friendly, playful, and outgoing. Thelma is housebroken and enjoys playing with other dogs. She hasn’t decided if cats are friends or foe yet. Thelma is scheduled to be spayed towards the end of August. She is current on all vaccines. Thelma is a smaller size Saint-topping out at 100 lbs. Her sister is Louise, but they can be adopted separately. 9/22/2008

Biggie: My name is “Biggie” and I am starting a new life! I was found wandering the streets by animal control and in need of medical care. I have since gotten the medical care that I need, and seem really healthy now! Except I only weigh 112 pounds! I am told I need to put on 30 or 40 pounds, but when I was “on the streets” food was hard to come by. My foster family is taking great care of me and I get a lot of food now. I love to eat! So far, I have shown my foster family what a great boy I am! I am happy and calm in any situation, including being with other strange dogs that bark at me. 9/22/2008

Lacey: is a 5-year-old spayed female she weighs 100 pounds she is housebroken and is up to date on her shots. Lacey is a big love bug and likes to snuggle and lay her head on your lap. Lacey is fine with cats, however she can be aggressive towards other dogs. She is also timid around strangers and may bark at them but after a few minutes she is fine. She loves to go for car rides and walks she walks fine with a gentle leader but could use improvement on a regular lead. She sometimes plays with plush squeaky toys and balls but usually prefers to lay beside you and get a head or belly rub. 9/21/2008

Mush: is a 5 year old smooth coated neutered male who’s name fits him perfectly. He is a real easy going, lovable galoot, that loves being with people of all sizes/ages as well as dogs and cats. Although Mush is not breed quality in body he is the top of his line in personality! His spirit and attitude are exactly what we look for in this breed. A real Gentle Giant. It was easy to see that his owner’s heart was breaking when he turned Mush over to us but he was doing what was best for his pal. If you are interested in Mush you must bear in mind that his hips are poor and he will need to take a daily supplement ( Cosequin) that will keep them lubricated and in better working condition. Also not to let him get over weight. Special things Mush loves are long walks and to be pet. Things he dislikes is playing fetch. He figures if you threw it you can go get it and he’ll be happy to watch you do this all day long if you want to. This sweet boy will promise to love and drool on you until his time on this earth is up. So if you are looking for a companion that will make you feel like you are the best 2 legged creature that ever walked the face of this earth than Mush is your guy! UP-DATE;8/22/2008 Rescue has found that Mush is way to excited to play with his kitty friends. Due to his size and rough play it might very well end up being kitty’s demise. Also Mush tends to bark when he is left home alone. He just wants to be with you 24/7. 9/18/2008

Moose: A big baby, he is approx 5 yrs old and about 150+ lbs. Good with children but would be better if they were older due to his large size. UTD on shots, heartworm neg. neutered. He is beautiful. Easy to walk, highly treat motivated. Housebroken and does not like to stay outside, he does his business and wants to come right back in. Not good around dominate dogs! Great dog. 9/16/2008

Reilly: A very sweet girl. Needs to be an only dog or would be okay with a small dog as long as you would be willing to work with her. She is very nervous around other dogs. She is approx. 4 years old, UTD on shots , heartworm neg. spayed, house broken. Difficult to walk in new surroundings, pulls, but I have a gentle lead to go with her that will help. She weighs about 130 lbs, she has a slight cherry eye condition, but vet says she does not need surgery. Most times unnoticeable. Good around children. 9/16/2008

Barry: My name is Barry I’m a 2yr old male. I have all my shots and have been neutered. I like car rides and know basic commands. I have been around kids and need a home. 9/16/2008

Meghan: 11 month old, long haired, spayed female. VERY Sweet and loves to play. Gets along with everyone – children, dogs and even cats. Crate trained and working on basic obedience. 9/15/2008

Brennan: 6 yr. old, long haired, neutered male. Brennan is a very sweet loving gentleman. He longs for a home of his own, preferably quiet and peaceful like him. He has had a rough life and is looking for early retirement. 9/15/2008

Sebastian: is a 3yo neutered male. A super sweet and loving dog. This guy is extremely well socialized. He was turned in at his boarding kennel by his original owner because he got “too big” and liked to swim in the pool. He was adopted by an injured Iraq Veteran’s wife to help the returning veteran with depression. It worked. However the soldier has now been diagnosed with cancer and has been sent for treatment in AZ. 9/15/2008

Yukon: “Yukie” is a 115 lb. neutered male Saint, about 2 years old. He was saved from euthanasia on his “last day” at the shelter and had surgery on a severely broken front leg and both eyes-he can now run & see! Yukie likes other dogs (he needs to be the “alpha”), and enjoys children. However, we would prefer that he go to a home without kids or with older children, as his activity level will always need to be monitored due to the severe injury to his leg. Yukie’s favorite activity is to lay by his master’s side and be petted. 9/12/2008

Alabama: fondly called Bam Bam is a 3 year old rough coat (long hair) boy, currently shaved down due severe matting- hes a sweet fella that wants nothing more than to snuggle next to you and watch football! Alabama is kid tested and mother approved, he even enjoys the company of other giant breeds. We aren’t sure how he feels about smaller dogs but know he lived with a nasty lil bugger for some time and didn’t appreciate his companionship but loved the senior saint he lived with. Alabama is neutered and up to date on his shots and will be micro chipped prior to placement. He is also current on heart worm and flea and tick preventative. 9/12/2008

Buddy: is everything a Saint Bernard should be- Gentle, Friendly, Playful, Loyal and Majestic. He is a rough coat boy just over a year old, neutered and up to date on his vaccinations and current on heart worm and flea and tick preventative. He’s a big boy (guesstimate) 140lbs and not very droolie! Buddy enjoys the company of children and would prefer a family where there was at least one to give him plentiful belly rubs. He also does well with dogs of all sizes and is not bothered by cats. Buddy does know basic obedience but needs a leash walking refresher. 9/12/2008

Josy: was born on 5/8/07. She’s a rough coat Saint Bernard puppy that is looking for a permanent home. 9/11/2008

Bernard: is an approximately 3 year old male smooth-coat St. Bernard. He has a beautiful coat! Bernard is looking for a single dog home where he can be the center of attention. He is not aggressive, but would thrive better if he is the only dog. He is extremely loyal and is good with children and animals. Bernard is very loving and really wants to be part of the family. He is very smart, learns quickly. Bernard is a happy boy and loves to be with his people. 9/10/2008

Anje: (AHN-ya) is a very sweet and bright puppy. She is half German Shepherd and half Standard Poodle. Anje is picking up house manners very quickly and learning her commands. She loves to explore and play with humans and the other cats and dogs in the house, but she is a little shy when meeting strange dogs. Anje is still very young and needs a home with the time and patience to deal with the demands of raising a puppy. She will need continued training and socialization and both mental and physical exercise. Because Anje is a mix of two intelligent, active breeds, we expect she will be a very smart dog who may do well in agility, obedience, or rally. Right now it appears that her coat is non-shedding but it is hard to predict in poodle crosses how the coat will end up. Her coat will need regular brushing to avoid tangles and may need periodic trimming. If you are prepared for the challenges and rewards of raising a puppy, Anje can’t wait to meet you. 9/9/2008

Andy: salt and pepper schnauzer. He is a very sweet old gentleman. He is heartworm positive but getting treatment. He is about six years and and fully vetted. He loves kids and other animals. 9/7/2008

Scrappy: He is timid and shy but not nippy. He is a calm little boy and still young. He is small and white, a rare color in a schnauzer. He loves to snuggle and be around his people. He is fully vetted and heartworm negative. 9/7/2008

Bella: likes other dogs This one needs a family who is willing to put in extra time with obedience classes. She is very smart and will learn quickly. She is Heart Worm Free. The adoption fee includes all shots, heartworm test, neutering, a Home Again microchip and one night free obedience class in the Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Tahoe areas. We also include an information packet and a large bag of Pedigree dog food. 9/6/2008

Norman: is 1 to 2 years old and very energetic. He likes other dogs He is a very sweet rolly polly guy. He is Heartworm Free The adoption fee includes all shots, heartworm test, neutering, a Home Again microchip and one night free obedience class in the Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Tahoe areas. We also include an information packet and a large bag of Pedigree dog food. 9/6/2008

Bean: is a neutered male rough coat. He will be 2yo in March. This guy was rescued on his way into a shelter. The owners were moving. A Veterinary Technician took him and brought him to us. This guy is super sweet and laid back. He has integrated into my herd of Saints very well. 9/6/2008

Aspen: a female spayed rough coat will be 2yo in November. Her owners had to move and could not take her. She is all puppy, very happy dog. 9/6/2008

Buster aka Roy: is a 6 yo rough coat w/ a checkered past. He first came to me 4 years ago from Maryland rescue. He had been taken from a hoarders home. A friend adopted him. That friend committed suicide with Buster in the room. The wife had to sell the house and brought him back to us. Despite all this Buster/Roy is very calm and loving. 9/6/2008

Willowe: 6.5 yr. old female – Longhaired Willowe is a wonderfully sweet and mellow 6.5 year old roughcoat. She is a big girl at 140 pounds but could stand to lose 5 or so. Her family could no longer afford to care for her but they loved her very much and it definitely shows. Willowe has been exposed to children, cats, kittens, dogs of all sizes, and likes just about everyone. Due to her age and some arthritis she would like a home without small children that climb on her, but children over 10 would be great. She especially loves small dogs. Willowe knows her commands and walks beautifully on a leash. She is housetrained and really loves to snuggle with her people and go on car trips. She is in excellent health for her age. 9/6/2008

Annie: is a 5 year old shorthaired female who weighs 113 lbs. Annie would be anyone’s dream dog. She came into her foster home getting along great with 2 female dogs, 1 male Saint, 2 cats, and 1 kitten. She is an exceptionally mellow dog, and knows her basic commands. Annie needs to find a very loving home that will take good care of her. 9/6/2008

PUMBA: He’s four years old, neutered, vaccinated, housetrained, and microchipped. BUT he’s positive for heartworm — for which we have had him treated. While he’s recovering, and though he’s not yet ready to be placed until all his nasty heartworms are gone, Pumba would like you to know that soon he’ll be ready to meet you. He’s an enthusiastic fellow who LOVES going for walks (but hang on to that leash ’cause he’s STRONG). And he very much enjoys tummy rubs. He will flourish as an only dog in a family with children over age 12 and a fenced yard. He hasn’t met a cat but has lived peacefully with a pet bunny. Pumba is respectful of baby gates or doorway barriers and doesn’t mind being confined to an area as long as he can see his people. He came into Rescue because the landlord decided he was too big for the owner’s apartment. 9/4/2008

Shyann: Hi! I am Shyann, a beautiful four year old. My owner got sick, and could not care for me anymore. The one thing I need a lot of right now is attention. I love kids, but will need some patience if you have another dog, see I expect that you will give me all the attention! I am a good girl, potty trained, and do well on a leash, although the dog park is a bit too crazy for me. I prefer calmer situations with not so much dog action! 9/2/2008

Madison: This is Madison She is a 1yr old spayed female roughcoat. She is full of life and is learning obedience. She gets along great with the other animals at the foster home. She was afraid at first but has gotten past that and is joining in on the fun. She is very affectionate and loves everyone she meets. 8/31/2008

Sophie: This sweet 3 year old was rescued along with 9 other Saints from a bad situation. After living in a pen and used for repeated breeding, she was rescued by ISBR and introduced to “the good life”. She is good with other dogs, cats, and children. She crate trained and housebroken. She has learned to walk on a leash and is learning basic obedience training. She loves to play with toys and enjoys playing with her foster brothers and sisters. For more info on how you can give Sophie the continued life she deserves, please contact us! 8/27/2008

Sierra: Silly Sierra just loves belly rubs! She is as sweet as they come. She is just two years old and on the smaller side for a Saint. She is great with everyone and everything! She will be ready for adoption in mid-May as we are currently treating her for heartworm disease. 8/27/2008

Bianca: Why do people just up and move and leave their furry friends behind to fend for themselves? You see, that is what happened to me. They just left me behind in an abandoned house. I can’t figure out why. I am such a sweet girl. I am good with other dogs, cats, and older children. I even know basic commands. Did I mention I am a beauty too?? 8/27/2008

Cognac: Although my owner loved me very much, she wasn’t well enough to care for me and the very large number of animals in her care. With the help of a local humane society, I was brought to safety and taken in by ISBR. I am a very sweet boy who gets along well with other dogs and cats. I am quite the lover with adults. I have not had any experience with small children so a home with children over 5 years of age will be required. I am 4-5 years old. Every day is a new experience for me, would you like to help me make new memories? 8/27/2008

BELLA 4: Did you know that “bella” means “beautiful” in Italian? My foster mom tells me all the time that my name fits me perfectly. I’m two years old, spayed, housetrained, HW-negative, and vaccinated. I love to cuddle with my humans so if you’re willing to romp with me, well that would be great. I’m pretty friendly with other dogs and with cats. Kids are fun too but I’m most comfortable with kids over age 8 or so. I’d prefer a fenced yard. If you’re looking for a playmate I’m your girl. Want to meet me? I hope you’ll call soon. 8/26/2008

Calvin: this dear boy is seven years old and was rescued at the shelter door when his family was turning him in because they lost their home. We were there picking up another St. and asked the father to surrender Calvin to us, which he did. Calving gets along with other dogs, and is waiting for a new home and family. He still has his puppy face! Neutered, shots, microchip 8/26/2008

Bear: My name is Bear. I’m looking for a loving home with room to play. I’m 16 months old and still a puppy at heart. I have some basic obedience but will need more schooling. I’m neutered, fully vetted and have my bags packed. 8/25/2008

Sadie: is a 3yr old female . I’m up to date on shots. I get along with cats and love to cuddle. I need a loving family. 8/25/2008

Hercules: is a 3 yr old male. He is a sweet boy who is good with kids of all ages, good with other dogs, and good with cats also. He wants to be someone’s forever special companion. 8/25/2008

Ruby: turned six months old in June 2008. Her owner turned her into a rural, Alabama shelter. She was lucky enough to be taken into foster care with three other rescued Saints. Ruby has a lot to learn! Although she is already 100 pounds, she is just a puppy (an energetic, loving, and gigantic puppy!). She is very, very playful and loves to rough house with the other saints. She also loves to chew on her toys and needs plenty of attention. Although she did not live in the house before coming to rescue, she has not had an accident inside. She seems to have picked up house-training from watching the others. We are working on crate training and basic commands. She is protective of her food when it comes to other dogs, but, otherwise, has a very sweet nature. Ruby will need a home that is experienced with Saint Bernards- a home where she will be welcomed inside but can also play in a fenced yard (6 foot fence). 8/24/2008

Daphne: is a sweet little girl who was saved from a neglectful situation by a friendly lady who couldn’t stand to see her living the way she was. She is a 9 month old smooth coat who gets along with everyone. She is fully healthy now and ready to find her new forever home. Daphne lives with a foster mom in Ardmore. 8/23/2008

Minnie: She is around a year old and very sweet. She has just been spayed and now is at the sanctuary and ready to go to a new family. She is good with people, loves car rides and good with bigger dogs. I think she may think little noisy dogs are toys, Minnie is a very loving girl and will bring joy to any family. 8/22/2008

Gracie: just turned one year old in June. She is a friendly, well mannered smooth coat saint. Her face is adorable; she is healthy but could gain some more weight. She knows some commands, like sit and down, and is very responsive to training. She likes to hang out near people but doesn’t get in the way; she is housetrained. She gets along with kids and many types of animals because her previous home had six kids, cats, dogs, chickens, and a goat. Now she is with other dogs (saints and labs) and gets along with them. She also doesn’t bother the cats. Gracie will walk on leash without pulling. She rides well in the car and likes to sleep in a crate. She is looking for a nice family that she could be a part of. 8/22/2008

Rocky: lives up to his name- this big boy is as solid (and as quiet and calm) as a rock! Like his little sister, Lilly hes a smooth coat boy (short hair) he has a full mask and a monks cap but hes a bit bigger at 160lbs. Rocky will make the perfect family pet. He loves kids and people, loves to cuddle and just hang out with family. Rocky likes other dogs, and is fine with cats, in fact he doesnt really seem to care about either. We would love Rocky and Lilly to be placed together but will also consider placing them separately. Rocky is neutered and up to date on his shots. Because of lack of exercise and the fact that hes a bit over weight he has a bit of arthritis in his hips but with dropping a few pounds and regular exercise along with some joint he supplements he should be good as new. 8/20/2008

Lilly: is a 5 year old smooth coat beauty! She’s 140lbs, full mask and pretty as can be. She knows basic obedience, is good with other dogs, cats, kids. She also has decent leash manners. She enjoys laying on the couch watch tv with her family and getting belly rubs. She is the perfect family pet. Ideally we would love Lilly and Rocky to be adopted together but it is not mandatory and will consider adopting them separately. Lilly is spayed and up to date on her shots. Because of her past history of being allowed to roam we would prefer Lilly be placed with a fenced in yard. 7/17/2008

Chloe Ann: Meet Chloe Ann- also fondly called Pookie! She is 130 lb beauty who was turned into rescue because her owner became very ill and could no longer care for her properly. She’s 2 years old, was raised with young children and has lived with other dogs. She does great with other pets but needs to be fed away from them because she will protect her bowl from the other dogs. She’s happy go lucky and a very calm well adjusted girl. She wants nothing more than to lay in your lap and be the center of your universe. 8/20/2008

Diesel: is a looker! he’s 2 years old and sweet as can be, he came into the program with his sister Peanut as a casualty of divorce. He’s very well behaved, knows basic obedience, walks nice on a leash an enjoys other pets and loves kids. Diesel will need a traditionally fenced yard and would like a female companion (unless you want to adopt Peanut and Diesel together?) and maybe some kids for unconditional love and a ton of belly rubs. 8/20/2008

Peanut: is a 2 year old rough coat (long hair) spayed female. She is Diesel’s sister they came into rescue because their family is getting divorced. Peanut is sweet, it takes a her a lil while to warm up to new people but then she’s on you like glue. She knows basic obedience, walks nice on a leash. She’s so-so about other dogs, some she likes- some she doesn’t. She’s ok with cats and enjoys children. Peanut also needs a traditionally fenced in yard and will need a family to be devoted to her and shower her with affection. 8/20/2008

HOOVER: Update- Sweet Hoover is still waiting for his forever home- no one has quite measured up for this boy yet ! Hoover is crate trained, doing great leash training and knows how to target, sit, down and wait- hes not even 12 weeks old yet!! Hes very people oriented and loves to follow his people around for lovies but then loves to go romp around with all the dogs! Adopt Hoover today! . Please make sure you meet all his criteria before applying for Hoover. A traditionally fenced yard (chain link, wood, vinyl, NO ELECTRIC) is required as is completion of an obedience class. CT and RI Residents ONLY no exceptions. No phone calls, 8/20/2008

Luke: came to us in March. Luke as you can see was in deplorable condition He has been under veterinarian care for over 4 weeks And still has a long way to go before hopefully going to a loving home. 8/20/2008

BONNIE: Hi, I LOVE people and I want to follow you around! I get along with everyone and I promise to be polite. Please take me home with you. 8/19/2008

Gus: is a little timid at first. He’s looking for a gentle family that will show him that he can trust and will love you forever. He comes across as standoffish but he’s just a little skittish because of being pulled away from his family after so many years. The only reason is that he got too big. 8/18/2008

Bentley: is a handsome and friendly 3 year old smoothcoat boy who found himself in need of a home due to livestock incompatibilities. He knows several commands, although like many Saints he has selective hearing at times. Bentley loves to play with toys, with his human friends, and with other dogs. He coexists peacefully with dogs of all sizes, cats, and kittens. He could use a refresher course on leash training as he was off leash most of the time in his previous home, but he does not pull too badly. Bentley is on the small side for a male at 104 pounds but in good health. He is happy to come along in the car on any trip but is also crate-trained and doing well with his housebreaking if he needs to stay home. 8/11/2008

Braden: is a 4 mo old male St Mix. 1/2 St , 1/4 English Mastiff, and 1/4 Bullmastiff. His parents came from a puppymill situation. His mother was very clingy with the puppies and actually smothered some of them accidently. So Braden was taken away from mom when he was less than 4 wks old. He knows some commands, is potty trained and even good with special needs kids. He does have separation anxiety and Needs to be part of a multi dog household. 8/10/2008

Annabelle: will be 1 yr old on July 17 . She loves to play with other dogs and great with cats and loves kids. She loves water and toys. 8/7/2008

Maude: is a 2-year old rough coat spayed female. She came to Rescue because her previous family didn’t expect her to be so active, and locked her outside – she kept going through their fence because she was lonely. She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home and will need another dog in her permanent home to keep her busy. She is coming along with crate and house-training, and will need an owner who will continue her obedience training 8/4/2008

Butkus: (named for famed football celebrity Dick Butkus) joined our rescue program due to the unfortunate passing of his beloved owner, Harry. Although our rescue was technically full at the time, the plea for help was one that touched my heart, as it has always been a fear of mine that our dogs would find good homes, should my husband and I both pass away suddenly. So, accommodations were arranged for the cute puppy to join rescue- only 7 months old, and weighing in at about 90 lbs. Butkus is housebroken, current on medical, and will soon be neutered. He will be a BIG boy when full grown, and he is a rough coat Saint. Butkus is settling into his new routine with multiple dogs and cats to play with. If you can provide a stable, permanent loving home for this great boy, than I think his owner in heaven will certainly smile down upon you. Butkus is currently in foster care in the DFW area. 8/2/2008

Dee Dee: This is Dee Dee she is a great dog. She came from a breeder that did not take care of her. She couldn’t breed so they got rid of her. She was not sure of humans but is now coming around. Dee Dee is 4 yrs old and a sweet girl. 7/28/2008

Hailey: This is Hailey, one wild and crazy girl. Not really, just full of spirit for a 1yr old female roughcoat saint. She is spayed and gets along well with the other animals. She tries to challenge for top dog position but quickly backs down. She was goofing around and shattered the bone in her toe, so she is recovering from surgery. The Vet had to amputate to the first knuckle. It did not slow her down a bit. She is very loving and friendly. 7/28/2008

Puge: Hello my name is Puge and I am a mixed-blooded St. Bernard (no papers) that needs a loving home. I am 6 years old and full of energy. I have been an outside dog all my life. I am in fair health and I eat a lot of food. I like my food mixed – half can and half dry. I do have epilepsy and bad hips and therefore require medication twice a day. I get a long with other dogs but not while I’m eating. I have not had any children to play with, so I can’t say how I would react around them. I have added some of my best pictures below for you to enjoy. 7/27/2008

Ranger: is a very sweet 4 year old Saint Bernard. He is house broken and leash trained (on a training leash). He is a indoor/outdoor dog who never really chews up or destroys anything. He is great with kids, cats and most dogs. Ranger is located in the Fort Worth area of Texas. 7/27/2008

Denver: is an incredibly wonderful 110 lb. Saint/lab mix dog. He would make a great addition to any family. It has taken me quite a bit of deliberation to decide to put him up for adoption but in all fairness to him, it’s the right thing to do. I adopted him from the Defense League when he was 2 years old. He has been with our family almost 6 years. Yes he is an older dog but my vet assures me he has plenty of years still left in him. He is fantastic around kids, cats, other dogs, livestock. you name it. He will “talk” when he needs something, totally housetrained, neutered, has never chewed up or damaged anything Honestly he would fit in anywhere except where he can’t have a yard. He needs that and it’s become increasingly clear to me that he deserves that also. 7/27/2008

Turk: 5 mo old long haired male. Ready for loving home. Very affectionate. Loves everyone and everything. Needs lots of TLC and because he’s a pup, still needs some training. 7/27/2008

Bonnie: is an AKC registered female rough coat Saint. She is very thin, weighing only 89 pounds and needing to gain at least 20 pounds more. Bonnie was raised outdoors with little attention, so she is learning how to be a house dog with manners. She is displaying some separation anxiety currently, but her foster is working with her on that. She is very people oriented but needs gentle handling with her shyness. Bonnie is cat tolerant and plays well with other dogs. She is about 4 years old, and is heartworm negative. She is scheduled to be spayed and vaccinated soon. 7/27/2008

Hailey: Hi, my name is Hailey and I was rescued and bottle fed when I was two weeks old. I never really knew my dog mom. My human mom took really good care of me and I am ready for my forever home. I am a Saint Bernard, but since I do not remember my dad, I cannot say for certain. I act like and look like and EAT like a Saint Bernard. I even have freckles on my nose. I will need tons of love and attention, but I am eight weeks old on April 11th. 7/26/2008

ERNIE: Ernie’s a VERY special boy whose luck ran out. When most senior dogs are lounging in the family room (maybe even on the sofa), content in the knowledge that they’ll live out the remainder of their lives in the company of a loving family, Ernie didn’t fare so well. He ended up Rescue at the ripe old age of seven years, and they’ve been seven TOUGH years. He’s skinny, his hips are arthritic, and he recently suffered a seizure. but he still has SO much love to give, and he deserves a soft pillow to ease his discomfort. Ernie’s favorite things are sleeping and getting gentle massages. We’d prefer to see him as an only dog or with another older dog; puppies and young dogs would just be too active for him. He’s up-to-date on vaccinations, is housetrained, and he’s negative for heartworm. Ernie’s a sweet old guy who doesn’t have a lot of years left but he’s still deserving of a family of his very own. 7/26/2008

NICK: This handsome dude is four-year-old Nick. He’s a roughcoat Saint who is neutered, housetrained, vaccinated, and HW-negative. He’s a tall guy who ended up in need of a new home because he was just too much dog for his family’s young child. He likes to play with tennis balls and loves it when his human runs and play-chases with him. Though he tends to be a bit more comfortable with women than men, he has not exhibited any aggression toward men. He’s an enthusiastic eater; however, he does need to gain another 10-12 pounds. The successful applicant will have Saint experience, a secure fenced yard, and children no young than teen-agers. He knows some commands (SIT, DOWN and NO). We want him to be the family’s only pet. Nick’s a dynamite boy for the right owner. Got patience? Got treats? Got a big supply of tennis balls? 7/26/2008

MONTGOMERY: Montgomery (aka Train Wreck, or TW, as the women at our vet’s office nicknamed him) was indeed a train wreck when he arrived. Emaciated, full of whipworms, heartworm-positive, intact, and with hair loss over much of his back, he was just pathetic. How a so-called human could let him get in such a horrid state just boggles the mind. It only took three weeks for him to gain 24 pounds (think he’d been starved?) but it took considerably longer to get rid of his heavy infestation of intestinal whipworms. But after four treatments they’re finally gone! His hair has grown back and he’s blossoming. He’s housetrained. He’s been neutered and vaccinated and microchipped. He’s had his heartworm treatments and will soon be ready to charm some lucky family just like he’s charmed all of us here. At just three years of age, TW’s a sweet, sweet boy who deserves to be coddled and loved and spoiled for the rest of his life. We’d like him to be the family’s only dog. We don’t know about cats as he hasn’t met one while here in Rescue. He’d love some kids to play with. If you have room in your heart for this VERY special smoothcoat boy, please consider Montgomery. He won’t disappoint. 7/26/2008

Jack: is a young neutered male smooth coat Saint (2-3 years). He is heartworm negative and current on all vaccines. Jack is smart and knows some basic obedience. He is very playful, and friendly with other dogs and adults. However, Jack does not do well with very small children, so it is best he go to a home with children over 10. Jack has an adorable look and makes his foster family laugh with his goofy antics. 7/25/2008

Mr. Beasely: This is Mr. Beasely, The Bease. He is a 3yr. old neutered semi-rough coat. He is a bit shy at first but warms up fast and then sticks like glue. He is very gentle and loves to romp with his new playmates at the foster home. I am told that he is a bit of an escape artist but only time will tell on that issue. 7/24/2008

Molly: will be 10 on July 25th she is a real nice dog. loves kids and other dogs. likes being in the house. likes her treats. very good in the car and real good on a leash. she is about 112 lbs. 7/22/2008

Brutus: is a 3 year old neutered male. He is very much a Velcro dog that just plain loves to be with people. He does have a couple of bad habits though. If he becomes frightened or extremely happy he will throw himself onto the floor with all fours in the air. Also his kisses consist of licks and nibbles which rescue finds completely inappropriate. Due to this behavior we are requiring that he not be in a home with small children. Brutus’s new owners will need to take him to a basic obedient program to help build his confidence. Due to the fact that he is learning things so quickly we are assuming that his previous owners must have taught him a few things. He knows sit, down, and is capable of walking like a gentleman on the leash. Brutus seems to be trustworthy as far as housebreaking goes but has the bad habit of wanting to be a couch potato. We don’t think that this boy has ever been groomed before. The hair on his ears were so long that he looked like he was trying for a Phyllis Diller hairstyle and we combed about 6 pounds of hair out of his coat. Brutus did very well during the grooming session with the exception of scissoring the fringe on his back thighs. He quickly became nervous, through himself on the floor with this look on his face that said, ‘ I don’t think so! The last time I had scissors by that area I came home with PARTS MISSING!” Brutus has done well with the other dogs in the house but cats are an unknown. 7/20/2008

Yoda: approximately 18 month old Longhaired Saint Bernard. Yoda is definitely a sweetie. He was abandoned by his former owner and left in a vacant house for at least five days before he was found. The lady that found him had grandchildren, dogs & cats and Yoda did fine with everybody. Yoda needs to be in a family with other dogs as he loves to play. He is a very timid guy so his new family should be easy going without a lot of stress. He curls up in a ball when I do any yelling at other dogs so I don’t yell anymore. He was potty trained before coming to rescue so it should not be a problem. A very easy keeper but is afraid to do anything on his own. Yoda looks forward to becoming a family member. 7/19/2008

Sophia: this pretty girl is a one year old St./Boxer mix who was purchased as a purebred puppy! Sophia is super playful with other dogs and loves to hang out with her people! Sophia is housebroken, doesn’t chew and just needs some brushup on her leash training. She is a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable she is a affectionate, loving girl. Spayed, shots, microchip – 7/16/2008

Keebler: 11 month old, long haired, neutered male. VERY PETITE guy. Loves to play and rock and roll. Working on housebreaking and obedience training. 7/14/2008

Keno: 5 yr. old, short haired, neutered male. Big guy and handsome, too. Very well trained and housebroken. Gets along well with female dogs and older children. 7/14/2008

Simone: 3 yr. old, short haired, spayed female. Very sweet – does NOT do other animals. Housebroken and obedience trained. Loves to sleep on your feet. 7/14/2008

CRISTAL: Poor Cristal was adopted and came back because her new family didn’t have the time to put into the training that she needed. Cristal is a sweet girl who is just over a year old. She’s good with dogs, children and cats and would make a great addition to any family. She’s pretty calm for such a young girl and really enjoys being the center of her families attention. Cristal is up to date on her shots and has started flea, tick and heartworm prevention. The successful applicant will have a fenced yard, plenty of love to give, and be committed to continuing obedience with her. 7/14/2008

BANDIT: God help Bandit! Or should it be God bless Bandit? Bandit is 14 years young and still going strong. This saintly senior has almost doubled his life expectancy and deserves the best of the best. It broke his owner’s heart to have to give him up after so long but he just couldn’t provide for him anymore. Bandit loves everyone and everything. He just wants a warm bed in the winter, some AC in the summer and unconditional love and belly rubs. Bandit does have the typical issues that come with this aging breed, mainly bad hips, he’s also deaf as a doornail but that doesn’t stop him from strolling around the yard or getting to where he needs to go. He’s also intact and at his age it really isn’t safe to alter him. He will have an exam and have all his shots brought up to date before he’s placed. He’s fine with cats/kids/dogs but he’d prefer a one level home with few or no stairs. Please apply if you have room in your heart and on your sofa for this saintly senior! 7/14/2008

MADDOX: Meet sweet Maddox! Maddox was no longer getting along with the other dog in the household, the other dog being a pit mix and older, Maddox had a better shot in rescue. She’s is a sweet girl and doing great with the dogs here, male – female, young -old, you name it. She likes to guard her tennis ball (from dogs) but that’s about it. And Boy does she love her tennis ball! She could fetch for hours on end and doesn’t hesitate to jump upwards of 5 feet in the air to catch it! You’d never know she’s 8 years old. Maddox also enjoys rides in the car and the beach- shed love to be the center of your family. 7/14/2008

TUCKER: Tucker is a Saint owners dream! He’s a 3 year old, 160 lb rough coat boy, neutered and up to date on his shots. Tucker loves people, kids and other pets. He’s a go anywhere, do anything kind of dog. He loves to greet people with huge sloppy kisses, and when I say sloppy… I mean SLOPPY! Tucker needs a securely fenced yard and would adore some kids or another pet to play with- this dog would love nothing more than to be the center of your universe. 7/14/2008

LINCOLN: Baby Lincoln (and Grant + Hoover) was taken away from Momma way to early! He’s enjoying some tlc and socialization with his brothers and the other dogs in rescue. This sweet, energetic healthy boy would love to be part of someone’s family. A fenced yard is required as is completion of an obedience class. 7/14/2008

GRANT: Grant is Lincolns brother- A fenced yard is required as is completion of an obedience class. 7/14/2008

Marley: Hey Mon! My name is Marley, after the great Bob Marley. My foster parents gave me that name because when I was rescued by ISBR, the mats in my fur resembled Bob Marley’s dreadlocks! Since that day, I have been bathed, groomed, and given a stylish new haircut. I am looking and feeling like a new man. I am a very sweet 2-3year old boy who has a new lease on life! I love attention and I epitomize the word companion. I especially love belly rubs and I will invite you to rub my belly every chance I get! I enjoy going for walks, and I walk very well on a leash. I am also good with other dogs and cats, and I am having a great time with all of my foster siblings. Additionally, I am crate and potty trained, and I am very good at letting you know that I need to go outside. Can you find it in your heart to provide me with a forever home? 7/14/2008

Maggie: Maggie is a very sweet 3 year old girl. She likes other dogs and could care less about cats. She adores little kids wants to lick them all over and snuggle them. She was left abandoned in a house in central Illinois and soon found herself in a high kill shelter. With the help of ISBR, she was rescued and soon found herself getting steady meals and lots of love. She is such a wonderful dog and needs a wonderful home. Would that home be yours? 7/14/2008

Mylie: This sweet senior girl came all the way from Kentucky to be helped by ISBR. She is approximately 7 years old. She is a smoothcoat (short hair). She is great with other dogs, cats, and children. She is very active and loves to play with her plush toys. She is housebroken and crate trained and loves to go for car rides. 7/14/2008

Twitch: SPECIAL NEEDS!!! I guess I live up to my name as I have been diagnosed with Epilepsy. Unfortunately, my owners fell on financial hardship and could no longer care for me. Epilepsy or seizures are easy to control with medication. Sometimes it can be scary but I can live a normal, happy life. But enough about that, check out my handsome face! I am a phenomenal dog! I am very well behaved, I love other dogs, cats, and children. I walk well on a leash, love car rides, and toys. I am laid back yet I love to play. I am very social and love attention. Please don’t let my disease be my downfall. There is someone out there for me. Is it you? 7/14/2008

Dori: I’m as cute and lovable as that silly fish in Finding Nemo. I sure have personality! I am a petite girl, about 85 pounds. I am very sweet and LOVE human attention! I am a little shy with my foster brothers and sisters but I am learning everyday. I love belly rubs and scratches behind the ears. I ride well in the car. I am housebroken and crate trained. I’m almost perfect! 7/14/2008

Greg: is a 2yo smooth coat neutered male. He was found wandering as a stray in a nearby county. We are working on his obedience training and he is learning quickly. 7/12/2008

Abbott: this beautiful 8 month old boy is a long-haired St. Bernard who came into Rescue after being adopted at the shelter and then lost by the adopters! He was found at the “Poker Palace” and the people who stopped to help him (and chose his name) called our Rescue. Abbott is a bit shy at first but he is a good boy who gets along with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats. 7/9/2008

Kiaya: Hi! I am Kiaya! A sweet 5 year old short hair female. My owner got sick, so I have been neglected these days! My warm happy home has disappeared and I have been in a lonely yard. My new foster family is giving me LOTS of love though and I am so excited to have a new home! 7/9/2008

Zack: is a full masked, big-beautiful, rough coat Saint Bernard. Zack was surrendered to rescue after he had been dumped in the eastern part of Oklahoma. He will be neutered after the holidays and ready for adoption. 7/8/2008

Dora: This is Dora, she is a 4yr old spayed smooth coat. She loves children and gets along great with other animals. She is a bit strong willed but nothing a person can’t handle. 7/7/2008

Bruno IV: – This is our 4th Bruno in Rescue, thus the IV! This guy is a big, loving 3 year old boy who was turned into the shelter because his family’s living conditions changed. Whatever that means! Mine did too – I might as well consider my mortgage payment the boarding bill for all these beasts! Anyway, Bruno is well-mannered and will make an excellent St. for someone who loves the breed and saintly traits. Neutered, shots, microchip 7/7/2008

Bentley: is a 2 year old neutered male smooth coat Saint. He is up to date on all vaccines, de-wormed, and has been treated for fleas (many baths after he got to rescue!). Bentley has tested positive for heartworms, but his slow treatment will begin soon. Bentley is calm, loving, and gets along well with other dogs. He is severely underweight (102 lbs) and needs to gain a minimum of 20-30 more to look his finest. He seems to be happy lazing around and getting petted, after the tough life he’s led. 6/29/2008

Izzy: Isabella is a 2yr old spayed roughcoat female saint. She is a wonderful dog. She walked right into the foster home and began to play with the big saint they have there. She gets along well with everyone and loves to cuddle with the humans. She needs some leash training and work on manners in the house but is coming along fine in a short time. 7/7/2008

Jack: is a 3 year old Saint that I adopted from the SPCA. He is about 120 lbs and is up to date on his shots. We are moving out of a house to an apartment that doesn’t take big dogs, so I need to find a good home for him. He is a gentle and loving dog. He is great with kids of all ages (my daughter first saw him when she was 4 and he obeyed when she told him to sit). He has been around children as young as 2 and he is very good when they pet him. He gets along great with other dogs and cats and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. When the cat wants to eat out of his bowl, he just backs away. He has had obedience training and will sit and lay down on command. He does not jump up on anyone! He is good on a leash until he sees a new friend, then he wants to go see the new friend to have his belly rubbed, so we’re still working on heeling. He goes to the dog park and doggy day care, so he is used to regular exercise. Everyone at these venues say they have never seen such a happy dog. 7/2/2008

Bella: is a 11 month old spay female that is in need of obedient training. She knows what sit means but wants to do it on her own terms. She is hyper and with a happy-go-lucky attitude that thinks jumping on people is an acceptable form of saying “HI THERE!!!!” Bella is being taught how to walk nicely on a leash and that performing basic commands is a positive thing to do. The upside is that Bella is housebroken and trustworthy. Also she loves spending time with her canine and human friends. Although Bella is curious about the household cats she is not adventurous enough to introduce herself to them. It’s hysterical to see this large girl’s timid attitude. Loud noises scare her and heaven forbid if you should ask her to climb stairs. Those long legs of hers definitely do not know how to maneuver steps. This sweet clown of a girl has a lot of potential but it’s going to take a loving and committed owner, who is willing to continue her training, to help her become the well behaved companion that rescue knows she can become. 7/1/2008

Lindy Lou: Meet Lindy Lou. female tri color she is 1 1/2 yrs shorthair housebroken she will be spayed and all her vaccinations will be current wormed and microchipped. She is fine with other dogs and kids. Is curious about cats, but not aggressive. Housebroken. Love to go for car rides with perfect manners. (hops right up) walks well on a leash LOVES her crate. treats are gobbled up loves to give kisses. Just a perfect dog looking for a good forever home. 7/1/2008

Ozzie: 5 mo old long haired male. Ready for loving home. Very affectionate. Loves everyone and everything. Needs lots of TLC and because he’s a pup, still needs some training. 6/29/2008

Oliver: is a neutered male rough coat Saint, about 3 years old. He loves people, likes to play with other dogs, and tolerates cats. Oliver is housebroken, current on all vaccines, and has tested negative for heartworms. He weighs about 155 lbs, and is being crate trained in his current foster home. Although very sweet and loving, Oliver is quite a handful on a leash. He is very much in need of some formal obedience training. Oliver needs an owner that will commit to spending the time with him to teach him some manners. 6/29/2008

Poppy: This little girl appears to be a pure bred Saint Bernard puppy. Her name is Poppy. While most Saints have a “mask” on their face, some have half a mask, and some have none! This little girl has none. Poppy was rescued from a rural Alabama shelter right as her time was running up. She is now being fostered (in Birmingham, Alabama) with three adult Saints and a gaggle of cats. Poppy is very sweet and shows no fear. She is a happy girl. She has been spayed, started her shots, and is on HW/flea preventative. We believe that she is 4-5 months old (as of June 2008). She is working on crate training and has done very well so far learning house training. Saint Bernards are very special dogs with special requirements. A home with large breed experience is preferred, and a six foot fence is required. 6/26/2008

Mary: is a 5.5 yo smooth coat spayed female. She was rescued from a backyard breeder. She is very sweet, but timid around men. 6/25/2008

Chuko: Chuko is a large young male. He is estimated to be about one year old. He weighs 150 pounds and could stand to gain a few pounds. Chuko is a rough coat saint. He had to be shaved due to all the mats in his fur. He is very gentle and loving. He is housebroken and gets along with all animals and good around kids too. Chuko knows a few command-he may know more in Spanish as we discovered that is his first language! Chuko will make a great addition to your family. 6/25/2008

Bear: and Willow: HI! We are Bear and Willow! An adorable pair of Saints! We are 9 months old, housebroken, good with children, cats, other dogs, we are just love bugs. Bear is the most dynamic of us, and he is missing an eye. It does not slow him down one bit! He will be having surgery to close the socket while we are in foster care. We have never been apart, and would really love to belong to a family who would take us both. We would go separately, but our new homes would have to understand what a big adjustment that will be for us! 6/23/2008

BlackJack: this handsome guy is 2 1/2 years old. BlackJack aka BJ is a good boy who lost his home because the other dog in the home (evil lil’ old poodle) kept picking on him. BJ is playful, loving and will make a wonderful addition to a loving home. Neutered, shots, microchip. 6/16/2008

Kasper: Hi I am Kasper, and I am ready to be your new best friend! I am a big beautiful boy who is just under 1 ½ years old. Unfortunately, I have never been a part of a real family. My first family thought it was suitable to tie me to a tree. No wonder I barked at everything! With my foster family, I am not tied up and do not have any reason to bark at all. I am a lovable boy who is housebroken, but had very little training. My foster mom realized I know how to sit, so I know I can learn to be a terrific dog anyone would be proud of. I just want a forever home where I will get lots of love, patience and training. 6/16/2008

NO NAME: 8 year old Female, great with dogs and kids- check back for more info 6/15/2008

Jasmine: is a medium size dog with honey colored fur. She is wonderful with children and animals. She was pulled from a kill shelter and is a great house dog. She has a terrific personality and would make the perfect companion for a family. She loves to sleep in bed with the kids. She is ready for her forever home. 6/15/2008

Baby: Collie/ Saint Bernard Mix She is 10 maybe 12 months old. 60 70 lbs Wonderful in the house, housebroken and loves to lay at feet and be around family She does well with cats and other dogs She is very gentle and attentive She loves walks and needs to be with someone who will make the time for walks Our hope is that someone is looking for a companion for many years to come, her eyes are full of love and she is always looking for someone eyes to look into. 6/15/2008

Pearl: Wow! What a gorgeous girl! Pearl came to us from a high kill shelter in Illinois. She was found as a stray that nobody claimed. She is just about a year old and rather petite. She is great with other dogs, cats, and children. She loves to be groomed and going for car rides. She is crate trained and housebroken. She is believed to be a Saint/Great Pyrenees mix. 6/14/2008

Bubba: is a sweet and kind 3 year old Newfoundland. Although still shy, he loves attention and to curl up at your side. He will watch you longingly with loving eyes. Despite everything he’s been through his temperament is amazing. Bubba is great with people kids and other dogs. He’s neutered, up to date on his shots and has started HW/flea/tick preventative. 6/12/2008

Fiona: 6 month old Newf baby !! Sweet as can be. FENCED YARDS ARE MANDATORY- CT AND RI Residents only. 6/12/2008

. Fergal: 3 month old Newf baby !! FENCED YARDS ARE MANDATORY- CT AND RI Residents only. 6/12/2008

Fergie: 6 month old newf baby- sister to Fiona- sweet but shy and timid- she is an amazing learner! She’s already started basic obedience, and knows how to do an A Frame and Tunnel!! 🙂 FENCED YARDS ARE MANDATORY- 6/12/2008

ZELDA: Xena and Zelda are just one year old and boy have they have it rough. These sweet sisters were puppy mill dogs out west and were sold at auction. It is evident by their coats and skin they were quite neglected- their coats are stained from urine and matted beyond belief. We’ve started bathing, dematting and shaving, pretty soon they’ll be as good as new. They have awesome temperaments and are just like big puppies, they just want to play and be loved. They’re good with other dogs, kids and strangers. We’ve started crate training and house training. They have started their shots and are hw negative and current on flea/tick/hw preventative. 6/12/2008

STEFFY & ROCCO: Steffy and Rocco came into rescue from a shelter- miraculously they ended up being the parents of Lincoln, Grant and Hoover. These poor sweet babies were left to roam and dumped after Steffy gave birth. Despite what they have been through they are sweet and WANT to trust humans. They were raised with kids and are good with other pets but because of past neglect we’d rather they be the only pets in a home and would love if they could be placed together. We never want these dogs to roam again, a fenced yard is required. 6/12/2008

Baby: Baby is an 8 year old owner surrender- her family kept having to move and couldn’t take Baby a long- Baby is just as her name implies, a sweet, baby. She’s cool, calm and collected but still has a lot of spunk for a senior. She is a huge people person and loves to go out and socialize. She’ll stop dead and wait in a parking lot even if someone is a mile away just because she wants to say Hi ! She’s also awesome with kids and live with tiny ones and was just as good. And it gets better she even loves other dogs! Baby is the kind of girl that will follow you to the end of the earth and shower you with her love and devotion. So if you have room on your sofa ad in your heart for a Saintly senior, please apply for baby today! You wont be disappointed. A fenced yard is preferred but not required but Baby would prefer to live with another dog AND children. 6/12/2008

Max: Hi My name is Max! Nice to meet you. I’m a 4 year old pure breed Saint Bernard. Daddy couldn’t take care of me anymore so I’m here with these awesome people. I’m neutered and up to date on my shots. I’m house broken and crate trained, although I really don’t NEED a crate. I’m a good boy when left alone, I like to sleep and look out the window. I’m great with dogs and cats, I love adults. I’m probably too much for young kids though. I love to go the beach, rides in the car and I adore cuddling! I also like to be groomed and you’ll LOVE to groom me because my fur is as soft as cashmere! my foster mom will read them and pass them on to me. NEWSFLASH– The more time we spend with Max- the more we fall in love. This dogs personality and temperament is outstanding. He has perfect obedience and manners, he walks perfect on a leash and is trustworthy off leash also. We’ve started calling him our personal cheerleader- whenever you look at this dog you cant help but smile and fall in love. 6/12/2008

Mo: is 2 yrs old. He gets along well with other dogs and is house broken. Due to a car accident when he was very young, one of his front legs has been amputated. He gets along very well without it. Mo is show quality. 6/11/2008

Miss Cujo: was born 4/29/07. She’s a rough coated, Saint Bernard puppy that is looking for a permanent home. 6/10/2008

Betty Lou: was born on 4/29/07. She’s a rough coat Saint Bernard that’s looking for a permanent home. 6/10/2008

Suzy: was brought to us from a less than favorable environment in Hinton, Oklahoma. Suzy is a sick girl. She’s fighting a severe case of mange, ring worm, inner ear infections and through this all she’s been loving, gentle and displays the truest sense of being a “Gentle Giant.” Suzy will be spayed once she had won the battle with her illness but once she’s healthy she would make a wonderful addition to any family. She is a very tall girl that once she fills out should range around 160 – 175 lbs. 6/10/2008

Dakota: this beautiful girl is a 3 year old longhaired St. Bernard who came into our Rescue with her 3 month old puppy, Uno because of a relocation. Dakota is bit shy at first, but she responds to kind words and affection. Please consider giving Dakota a new, loving home – she will love you forever! Spayed, shots, microchip 6/9/2008

Uno: this cutie is Dakota’s baby boy. He is 3 months old and ready for a new, loving forever home. Uno will need his basic obedience lessons and he would love a buddy to play with! Neutered, shots, microchip 6/9/2008

Monty: is a 3 year old neutered male. He is just a really nice boy that is very laid back and well behaved. Monty is one of those dogs that you just can’t help but fall in love with. Monty was originally adopted from a New York City shelter. The people whom adopted him from the shelter said he was very thin and sad looking. You can imagine how hard this is on Monty who finally believed he was in his forever home only to be once again losing the only security he has known. Unfortunately his new owner was a stay at home mom who now works long hours and feels that Monty deserves someone in his life who can spend more time with him. His favorite things are long car rides and a nap by his beloved human’s feet. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes but cats are unknown at this time. Monty lived with a 3 year old and thought she was kind of neat. He was very gentle with her so he should be good with younger children He walks well on a leash and is just an all around cutie pie. Monty is limping on his right rear leg so rescue will be checking it out to see what is wrong with it. 6/9/2008

Molly: I would describe her as spirited but when she tires out she does become loving. She loves to run in the fields of our local farmers and goes for a dip in our pond when she is out of the fenced area. She does require a lot of supervision as she wont stay close to home yet. She enjoys other dogs and cats. I am not sure of her weight but she does have a beautiful long coat and a kissable head! 6/3/2008

Titanic: this old guy 8 years old may look like a shipwreck now but once he gets his bath/brush he will be a handsome guy! His family moved out-of-state and left him at the shelter. This is a hearbreak. We are asking $50 Adoption fee to help pay for his shots, etc. Titanic has no known health issues or hip issues. 6/2/2008

Max: is a year old male that is soon to be neutered. Anyone that wants a dog that will relax with them and nap at their feet need not apply. This young-un is looking for action and is like a bull in a china cabinet. He knows his commands but is way too busy playing to take the time to listen. He just wants to play, play, play and when you think he is tired he is ready to play just one more time. Max definitely needs someone in his life that is up-beat and on the go. He likes other dogs but doesn’t understand why they just won’t wrestle with him. He will whine and wiggle all over with that twinkle in his eye that says, come on let’s rumble!”Cats are unknown at this time but Max was raised with a child that was 2. Believe it or not he was very gentle with her. He instinctively knew she was little tyke and was very careful whenever she was near. 6/2/2008

BOSLEY: Three-year-old Bosley is a young roughcoat male who has not yet left his puppy years behind. He’s got lots of energy and LOVES to run like the wind. He has two speeds — FAST and FASTER. Alas, the poor fellow suffered bilateral ruptured eardrums due to a longstanding ear infection. Though his hearing is not impaired we joke that he’s “selectively deaf” — he pretends he can’t hear you call him but he doesn’t have a problem hearing the treat jar being opened. Bos is neutered, vaccinated, HW-negative, housetrained, and microchipped. He will need an adopter willing to complete formal obedience with him and to help him develop leash manners. He’s not too crazy about other dogs, particularly males, and is a bit too intense for cats. We’d like to see him in an only-pet household with children over the age of 10 or 12. He thinks his primary job is to scare the vacuum cleaner with his big bark. If you think there are more important things in life than vacuuming every day he just may be the dog for you. The successful candidate will have large- or giant-breed-experience and a secure fenced yard. 5/26/2008

MYSTIC: Meet pretty MYSTIC. She’s a lovely two-year-old smoothcoat lady who came to us from a “home” (if you can call it that) where she was kept in a tiny bathroom with no place to lie down except on a heating vent in the floor. Mysty was being eaten alive by fleas when she was sprung from her hell by our good friend and fellow rescuer, Tricia M. Mysty has a small area of temporary hair loss on her hind end (courtesy of flea allergies) but it’s already beginning to grow back. The fleas are gone. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW-negative and housetrained, and she knows a few commands. She appears to have been struck so she’s initially a bit timid when meeting new people. We’re working on rebuilding her ability to trust. She SO wants to love someone who’ll treasure her and love her for the sweetheart she is. Please help us remind her that fanny-scratches can be pleasant, and not because fleas have set up housekeeping in her fur. Mystic would like a fenced yard. Another dog would be great ’cause she loves to romp and run and play with another critter. And she’d REALLY like some kids (over age 8 or 9 please) to smother her with affection. 5/26/2008

C.C.: This sweet little girl is a pure bred Saint Bernard who just didn’t quite grow as big as the others. C.C. is full of love and devotion for any human who shows her love (and treats)! She will literally throw herself onto your feet and roll over to present her belly. She also loves to play with other dogs (there are three Saints and a small army of cats in her foster home). She is one of the most eager to please dogs we have ever met. She is spayed and up to date on shots. She was heart worm positive when found, but has been treated and is doing great. C.C. is a young adult. She is gaining weight but will max out at about 90 pounds. She will be (is) a fabulous pet!! 5/23/2008

Max: is a 2.5 yo rough coat neutered male. He needs someone experienced with large breed dogs. We are doing refresher course on his obedience. His owner joined the Navy and was unable to keep him. 5/21/2008

Kegg: is a 2 yo rough coat neutered male. He’s all puppy and a big goof ball. His right front leg was fractured when he was hit by a car. His owner chose not to keep him. His leg was repaired, but he does have a limp. No children under 10yo. 5/21/2008

Bunny: this Cutie Pie is a 3 year old smoothcoat St. Bernard who was rescued from the local high kill shelter. We rescued Bunny the day before Easter thus her name however, it could be for the Energizer Bunny! She is a very happy, playful girl. Bunny loves attention and just needs some basic obedience training 5/21/2008

Lacey: is a 6 year old female. She loves to run and plays rough. Lacey is current on her shots and spay. She can jump a 4 foot fence. 5/19/2008

Molly: is a wonderful, well behaved 4 year old Saint. She is extremely loving with excellent house manners. Molly is happiest when lying next or touching someone. Presently, she is living with a 6 year old and cats and does great. She probably would be happiest to be the only dog. She gets along great with two of my dogs, but does not get along with my other two dogs. Molly is fully housebroken and barks at the back door when she needs to go out. She is current on her Rabies shot and spayed. Molly’s original owner passed away, then she was placed in a home with an autistic child that was unable to handle her appropriately. Molly loves to be with people and a warm caring environment. 5/19/2008

Callie: is approx. 7 years old. She was found wondering the streets of Terre Haute. She is good with other dogs. Callie is current on her shots and spay. 5/19/2008

Maple: Looking for a Saint but don’t want the size or the drool? Meet Maple! She is just 1 years old and 65 pounds. She is a Saint/Golden Retriever mix. She is great with other dogs, cats, and children. She loves to play with toys and cuddle. She is truly a great companion! 5/18/2008

Ozzie: When my owners moved and left me behind in a shelter, it was ISBR that came to the rescue! I am a sweet boy, a little on the shy side, but great with other dogs and cats. I would do best in a home with older children. I am housebroken and crate trained. I love plush squeaky toys and love to play! I am quite handsome and I love belly rubs and car rides. I walk very well on a leash! 5/18/2008

Fred: My name is Fred. My girlfriend Ginger and I were dumped in Central Illinois shelter. We’re oldies but goodies and would really like to find a home where we can live out the rest of our lives. We are between 8-10 years old and although we don’t wear our dancing shoes like we used to, we are two really great dogs! We love other dogs and children. We enjoy meeting all people and would love a great belly rub and some pets. Won’t you give me a chance at a great senior life? 5/18/2008

Ginger: My name is Ginger. My boyfriend Fred and I were dumped in Central Illinois shelter. 5/18/2008

Boomer: is a young male Saint (approximately 2 years old) that was running loose as a stray for several months. He is somewhat shy and timid currently, but seems to love people, and his foster family is working to get him to ‘come out of his shell.’ Boomer is heartworm negative, current on vaccines, and will be neutered soon. He is a rather small Saint, possibly a mix, and will top out at 100 lbs or less. 5/17/2008

Fergie: A 2-year old, sweet princess, longhair, spayed female. She was a stray pickuped up by animal control in very bad condition. She was sick and underweight. It has taken some time to get her back to health and put on weight but now she has turned into Princess Fergie. She gets along with other dogs and cats. 5/16/2008

Lucy: My name is Lucy. I am about three years old and I am just about the sweetest Saint on four feet. Just ask anyone, even the vet! In my previous life, I just lived outdoors and had 17 acres to run around on. The problem with that is that I just found out I have some arthritis in my knees and all that exercise was not good for me. I take a supplement every day and a feeling much better. I LOVE my daily walks! My foster mom and dad love me so much and I just love all this attention. I will have to be on a joint supplement the rest of my life, but in return, I promise my unconditional love and devotion. I just want to be part of a family! Maybe yours? 5/14/2008

Clover: Meet Clover! Clover is a sweet 10 month old Neapolitan mastiff. We we’re told Clovers mother stepped on her as a young pup so she does have some effects from that. Her jaw is a bit crooked and her tongue hangs out of her mouth a bit and sometimes she walks with a stagger. She had a rough beginning – she came covered in feces and infested so badly with worms she was skin and bone. She has made a ton of progress and It is our hope that as she grows and develops she will continue to get better. She is as precious as can be, she takes a lil bit to warm up to new dogs but then has a grand ole time playing. She’s crate trained, great with kids and all people. She’s spayed and up to date on her shots. The successful applicant will be dedicated to taking her through obedience and will have a fenced in yard. 5/13/2008

Bear: 1 1/2 yr old longhaired neutered male. Bear loves everyone big and small. He’s very good with kids. He’s housetrained and good on a leash. He is good with female dogs and cats, but wants to be dominant over other male dogs. 5/11/2008

Max: Hello my name is Max. I recently lost my home do to a family hardship. I have lived the last 1yr 1/2 on a small farm. I have been around a pig, goats, cat, horses and other dogs. I would love to become a member of your family. I’m neutered and up to date on shots. 5/10/2008

Brutus: is 3 years old and really loves people. He is playful and energetic. He gets along with other dogs. 5/9/2008

Sophie: is 3 years old, really loves people and likes other dogs. She has been treated for heartworm and is on hold until Feb. 1, 2008. 5/9/2008

Boomer: is 3 years old. He is a long hair. We have been told he is housebroken. He has been an inside dog and wants to go home to your family. He has been neutered, has all his shots and is heartworm free. The adoption fee includes all shots, heartworm test, neutering, a Home Again microchip and one night free obedience class in the Reno, Sparks, Carson City and Tahoe areas. We also include an information packet and a large bag of Pedigree dog food. 5/9/2008

Bosco: is 3 years old. 5/9/2008

Big Boy: is 1 to 2 years old and very energetic. He likes other dogs but plays rough. This one needs a family who is willing to put in extra time with obedience classes. Moose: is a 16 month old long-haired male. He is very affectionate and has a lot of energy. He knows basic commands and is being leashed trained in his foster home. He is being introduced to dogs and cats and more information will be added as it comes in. He is a handsome young dog that needs a forever home. 5/5/2008

Byron: 4 year old neutered Male – Longhaired 5/5/2008

Reeses: is 2 years old, neutered, microchipped and current on all shots. He gets along great with our 50-pound mixed breed female dog and has gotten along well with any other dogs he’s met. It’s just that our German shepherd is not nice to him and picks on him. He’s appears to be great with kids. He was interested in a friends cat, barked at it and followed it around the house, but did not “go after it”, so it appears he is okay with them. He needs obedience training, as he does not walk well on a leash, he pulls a lot. He’s very sweet and loves affection, he just leans on you to get attention. 5/4/2008

Jamison: is a 2 year old smudge coat male. He is a very big boy that absolutely loves people of all sizes. He was abandoned with his brother Stolie so rescue does not have any history on him. Jamison has dysplasia in his right elbow but it doesn’t slow him down a bit. Although Jamison is not dog aggressive to rescue’s dismay we have found that he does not know how to play with his own kind appropriately and thinks that cats look like fun chew toys. Whew…good thing his foster mom knows how to temperament test big boys like Jamison or her cats would be very unhappy to say the least! Jamison’s favorite thing is to rest his head on his human’s lap and paw them if they stop petting him. If you are interested in adopted Jamison you will need to show prove that you will be taking him to obedient class so he can become the good boy that rescue knows he can be. UPDATE 2/24/2008 Jamison is a great big bundle of love. He adores people, but rescue has not had him around small children. From what we have seen of his personality we feel he would be great with them other than the fact that the poor kids will have drool on them and he may knock little ones over with that big body of his. His foster mom has put him thru the mill, and he doesn’t seem to care. She can do anything from hug the stuffing’s out of him, lay on him, squishing the day lights out of him, giving him raspberries on his face and head, to giving a yank on his tail. It doesn’t matter to him, he just thinks, “Oh yeah, do whatever, just love me up!” Jamison doesn’t jump on people, however, he will try to climb into your lap if you let him. Jamison also loves to be touching you, be it with his big old paw or his huge tongue freely giving you one kiss after another! He can be inappropriate when it comes to playing with other dogs. His idea of fun and play would be to pounce on the other dog. This boy just never learned from his mom how to play nicely with others. Puppies learn good play behavior the first 9 weeks of their lives. However, in working with Jameson his foster mom has found that you need to be very firm with him, giving him a correction, and letting him know that it’s not ok, and he will back off. He will try again but consistency works. Rescue feels if he were placed with a submissive dog and someone that is firm, he would do well. He has a lot of potential and just needs that someone who is willing to spend the time working with him, teaching him his boundaries. 5/4/2008

Sampson: HI! I am Sampson! I have been given up by my family. I think I was too much dog for them. While I AM a huge boy, I am also housebroken, friendly to other animals (even cats) and I love kids. It is very say that right after my third birthday I am looking for a new home. If you pick me, I promise to be a good boy and love you unconditionally! 5/4/2008

Sebastian: Sebastian came into rescue from a “breeder” getting out of the business. He was born 1-04-01 and is the father of Tubby who is also listed on this page. Sebastian is a pretty laid back fella and easy to handle. He does well with other dogs, but needs to go to a home without cats. He is a rough coat, but needed to be shaved as he was too hot inside with his overgrown winter coat. Sebastian is located in MI, but we will arrange transportation to get Sebastian to his new home. 5/2/2008

Maggie: Maggie is a “retired” breeding dog. She is the daughter of Susie and Tubby also listed on this page. She was born 05-08-05. She is nice young gal full of energy. She is a nice girl, but received no training in her former home. She will need a family willing to continue towork with her to learn good dog manners. Maggie is fine with dogs, but not with cats. Because of the need for manners, we would only consider a home with older children. Maggie is located in Michigan, but we will arrange transportation to get Maggie to her new home. 5/2/2008

Bentley: 165 lbs. Born October 2003 LOVES riding in a car LOVES going for walks LOVES having someone lay in the floor with him (watch for his paw) LOVES shaking hands (have him sit and say shake) LOVES playing fetch in the back yard LOVES receiving treats (say EASY when giving treat and he will gently take it) LOVES smalls dogs and cats (sometimes does ok with other big dogs depending on the environment) Knows what going “NITE NITE” means is a little food aggressive when around small children goes out in a fenced yard to potty and comes back to the door when finished and he will start crying if not let in fast enough! Also, if he has to potty really bad he will definitely let you know he needs out. knows when coming in after a hard rain to stop at the door and have his feet wiped knows after drinking he gets his mouth wiped understands basic commands (sit, stay, move, and lay down). 5/1/2008

Beethoven: My name is Beethoven just like the movie star! I’m a good looking 4 yr old longhaired St Bernard. I was left behind when my family moved. He is well mannered and likes to walk. He is good with kids and loves people. LOOKING FOR A GOOD HOME! 4/29/2008

Honey Bear: She is a 1-2 yr old spayed female. She was found abandoned right after Christmas. She’s a very sweet girl who wants to be your couch potato. Not sure if she is good with small kids or other dogs. 4/28/2008

Copper: is a young male Saint, about 2 years old. He is neutered and current on vaccines. Copper has tested positive for heartworms, but slow treatment will begin soon. He is friendly with other animals and loves people. 4/28/2008

Muffin: is a purebred male Saint Bernard, not quite 2 years old. He was an owner surrender. He came in with fleas, demodectic mange, and had just jumped through a window to try to get to his family that kept him isolated in the garage. He is skin and bones, but still weighs in at 126 pounds. He is going to require double entropion surgery on both eyes. Regardless of the neglect he suffered, Muffin loves people and wants to please. Someday, he will be a big, beautiful boy ready for adoption. In the meantime, all donations are welcome to help Muffin get healed. 4/28/2008

Bernie: is a 15 month old smooth coat Saint. He is current on all medical, and is ready for his forever home! Bernie likes cats, other dogs, and all people. He is a big strong boy and would benefit from some formal obedience training. 4/26/2008

Mazie: is a very sweet, people orientated Saint Bernard. She only weighs 80 lbs, which is good because she is totally a lap dog. She wants nothing more that to sit on your lap, or next to you and rest her head on your shoulder. If she cannot do either, she will calmly sit at your feet. She is somewhat more energetic than your normal Saint. If 1 is a couch potato with fur and 10 is a border collie on caffeine, Mazie is probably a 4. Mazie has the coloration and fur of a full mask Saint Bernard. She does not drool. Mazie gets along reasonably well with the other dogs, but is more intent on being with people than with playing with the other dogs. She pretty much ignores cats. Mazie is pretty good on a leash, but does get excited and would probably benefit from formal training. She is crate trained, and will run into her crate as soon as the door is opened. She also responds well to “go to bed”. She has had no accidents in several days, and rarely barks. 4/26/2008

ROSIE: Her nickname is Rosie Raccoon (look at those eyes!) and she’s a bundle of friendly energy. She’s only 17 months old and is spayed, housetrained, vaccinated, and HW-negative. Rosie likes SOME other dogs but we’d prefer her to go a family where she will be the only dog. (She’s been starved for attention in her young life, and we’d like her to be the center of some lucky person’s world.) She does like cats. She’s been with children around age 7 and up. She gives gentle kisses and is a leaner. Her favorite things are squeaky toys and food. This girl is definitely food-motivated, and that’ll be helpful when it comes to obedience training. The successful candidate will have a fenced yard and will be committed to completing formal obedience lessons with our Rosie. 4/26/2008

Lucky: had no name when he was sprung from a municipal shelter where he landed after being picked up as as a stray. The poor guy had a deep gash in his neck because his collar was embedded so deeply that it had to be cut off. He was in much pain, and was covered in blood when he came into our program. He also had a pretty severe skin condition. We wondered if he would even make it to the vet. It was pitiful. But he had spirit. And hope. And trust. He willingly got in the car, somehow knowing that he was going to be saved. He was hospitalized for two months and is now ready to choose a family of his very own.

The staff at the vet hospital took him under their wing. They saw his potential, and worked hard to help him get better. They even included him in doggie school once he was feeling up to it. Even after his rough start he is still a sweet, sweet, boy. He gives lots of kisses but his very favorite thing is getting tummy rubs from his humans. Lucky’s less than nine months old and is all puppy. Non-stop energy. No manners (but we’re working on that). We’re also working on housetraining and he’s quickly picking up “house rules”. Lucky’s a dog who will need lots of exercise and playtime and patience. He very much wants to please. He likes people, children, and dogs of all sizes, both male and female. He hasn’t been exposed to a cat while in Rescue but we suspect he’ll be playful with them. He is a big Saint Bernard in a small package. He will do well in a family with another dog. 4/26/2008

SAGE: and CLOVER: You’re heard the old saying “If you’re gonna get a dog, get a BIG dog.” Have we got the dogs for you! Meet our babies. Sage and Clover are nine-month-old Neapolitan Mastiff sisters who are sweet beyond words. Aren’t they adorable? Neo’s are relatively rare in this country, and were only recently accepted into the AKC. Sage and Clover are considered “tawny”. Both are spayed, vaccinated and negative for heartworm, and have been started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Like all our other dogs, they’re microchipped. They’re smart little girls who are quickly picking up housetraining. They have very distinct personalities – Clover is outgoing and is the adventurer. Sage is a cuddle-bug who is the first to seek out affection and attention. Though both are healthy, Clover suffered a minor mishap as a newborn. Her mom stepped on her (ouch, bet that hurt!). Her tongue can usually be found hanging out the left side of her mouth. All the better for giving sloppy kisses. The successful applicant will have a fenced yard, giant-breed experience, and children over age 10. Sage and Clover are quite dependent on each other and we expect that they’ll best blossom into wonderful Neo ladies in separate homes so we do not plan to place them together. Successful completion of formal obedience will be a requirement of their contract, and the adoption fee is $500. Want to meet them? They’re WAITING!!! 4/25/2008

SARRAH: Hi. My name’s Sarrah (yup, spelled with two R’s). I’m four years and I’m a super-friendly Saintly girl. I’m housetrained and my vaccinations are up to date. I’m scheduled to be spayed and heartworm-tested within the next few days, then I’d love to meet you. I’d very much like a family with another dog to play with and a cat would be okay too. I’d REALLY like some kids to rub my belly. My humans loved me a lot but weren’t able to take me with them when they moved. I miss them but the folks here at Camp Saint Rescue are giving me lots of attention. My foster mom says I’ll need a fenced yard. Give a a call and let’s get together. 4/25/2008

RHETT: and SCARLETT: This cute brother-and-sister team were born on Valentine’s Day and they’ve been stealing hearts ever since. They’ll soon be seen by our vet to be spayed/neutered, then will be ready to meet their forever families. (We do not plan to place them together.) They’re smart little critters who have quickly picked up housetraining and are working on leash manners. They’re very eager to please. Rhett and Scarlett play well with most other dogs and with cats. Currently being fostered in a family with three kids (the youngest is age 6), they’re delightful, playful, engaging and very eager to please. A bit on the thin side, they’re eating like little piglets and will soon reach their optimum weight. They will each need a home with a fenced yard and the successful applicant will be committed to completing formal obedience within 60 days of adoption. 4/25/2008

SMOKE: This lovely young man is one-year-old Smoke. He came into Rescue when his family decided not to take him with them when they moved. Smoke is neutered, housetrained, vaccinated and HW-negative. On arrival he was quite thin and matted;he had an ear infection, and his hind end was covered in hot spots. The ear infection is gone up; the hot spots have cleared up; he’s putting on weight, and now he’s ready to choose a family. Smoke’s a friendly chap with other dogs; as for cats, he’s reported to be curious and playful. He knows a few commands (Sit, DOWN, and GIVE PAW) but COME doesn’t seem to be high on the list of commands he thinks he should obey. He’s a playful, friendly fellow who just loves people. He walks like a gentleman on leash with the use of a Gentle Leader, although he’s not all that crazy about bicycles or skateboards whizzing past him from behind. He loves going to walks and playing with a ball. Smoke’s pretty laid-back in the house; however, he has decided that any food you leave on the kitchen counter is fair game. Smoke will probably do best with children over age 8 or 9 because commotion and chaos make him a bit uncomfortable — He much prefers a peaceful environment. The successful candidate will have a fenced yard or will be committed to supervising him in the yard. Though not required, Saint experience would be a plus. 4/25/2008

LADY JANE: This darling little six-month-old roughcoat baby girl is sweet beyond words. She’s vaccinated, heartworm-negative, and soon to be spayed. Janie came into our program because her human kids were terribly allergic; it broke their hearts to have to let her go. She is gentle and affectionate and smart and loyal and trusting. She is quite friendly with other dogs. Though she hasn’t yet met a cat, there’s no doubt that she’ll enjoy playing with one. Her favorites? Cheese, stuffed toys, sticks, Milkbones, romping with another dog, and getting attention. She doesn’t like being scolded so she tries real hard to be a very good girl. She will do well with children of all ages. Janie will begin interviewing families shortly. Someone’s going to be VERY lucky. 4/25/2008

GRETCHEN: This sweet little charmer is Gretchen. Not quite two years old, she produced a litter of 12 lovely Saintly puppies and then, along with her puppies’ father, was dumped in a municipal shelter. A petite lass, Gretchen needs to pack on a few pounds. She is vaccinated, HW-negative, spayed, and housetrained. She is quite timid and hand-shy, suggesting that she may have been physically abused (or, at the very least, screamed at). She is NOT aggressive. Despite her apprehension, she craves affection. Gretchen would do best in a low-key home, probably with no other animals, so she can rebuild her confidence. We’d recommend children over age 8. She has such great potential and she deserves better than the life she’s endured thus far. The successful applicant will be willing to complete formal obedience with her to help her learn what the expectations are and to aid in proper socialization. She wants very much to please and she’s a smart little lady. Gretchen will need a family with a fenced yard, a big heart, the capacity to teach her that hands can be gentle, and a little patience. She’ll blossom in that environment. 4/25/2008

Rosaletta: This is Rosaletta. She was left outside in a pen with no food and a frozen water bowl when her owners moved. It was also zero degrees outside. She has moved past that and is a very wonderful little dog. She is what we call a mini-nard, at only about 80lbs, although she is very thin at the moment. She loves to speed around the yard and play with the other dogs. She is 2 and 1/2 yrs old. It is hard to get a good picture of her standing as she always wants to wrap herself around your legs. 4/24/2008

Dolly: 3 year old half-mask female who came into Rescue with her brother who has been adopted. Dolly is a good girl who does need some basic obedience to be better on a leash! She is a happy girl who is playful with other dogs and loves attention from people. Spayed, shots, microchip 4/21/2008

Sage: 10 MO Neo mastiff sister to Clover 4/18/2008

Harley: 5 mo bullmastiff- awesome dog great with everyone and everything- a ton of energy too much for young kids. 4/18/2008

ZOOS: Zoos is a 4/o harl. Great Dane- this is his 4th time in rescue which is no fault of his own. His families have seen to thought pets were disposable. Zoos requires a a fenced in yard, a quiet family and people who like to spend time with their dogs- 4/18/2008

Winston: Meet Winston! Winston comes from an incredible line of dogs and an incredible family. A former show dog, he is a drop dead gorgeous Saint with the flashy personality to match. Unfortunately Winston is not fond of children, they make him extremely uncomfortable so that’s how he found his way to us! Winston is wonderful with dogs of all sizes, great with strangers, good at the dog park, loves to hike, loves the beach. He would be a great fit for an active couple who do not have any children in their lives. Winston is up to date on his shots and will be neutered prior to placement. A successful applicant will have a fenced yard and an active life style to give this gorgeous dog just what he needs. 4/18/2008

Tricia: is a petite female rough coat about 3yrs old who was rescued from a local shelter after being found as a stray. She is a very sweet girl that loves people, kids, and other dogs. She is spayed, current on all her vaccines and is house trained. Tricia walks OK on a leash (does pull a little), loves her walks, lots of attention and loves her rides in the car. All she needs now is a family that will give her the love and attention that she deserves. 4/18/2008

Ryder: is a handsome 2 year old male rough coat that was rescued from a local shelter after his owner turned him over because he could no longer take care of him. He is a very friendly boy that loves to be around people, kids, and other dogs. He would love to go on long walks and to be just around his family. He walks good on a leash, loves to play with toys, rides great in the car but will require some basic obedience training. Ryder is house trained, neutered and current on all his vaccines and is just waiting for his forever home. 4/18/2008

Macy: is a 11 month old female smooth coat. She is a sweet girl that was rescued from a local shelter after being found wondering a mall parking lot next to a Macy’s store hence the name Macy. She is spayed and up to date on all her vaccines. She’s an absolute baby doll! She is a dream on a leash and loves to ride in the car. All she wants is your love and will sit next to you and stare into your face like she can read your soul. With some treats, she learned “sit” and “down” in about 10 minutes time and consistently performed them without treats after that, so I think she’s a fast learner. Macy is still a puppy so she will require structure and obedience training. 4/18/2008

Ralph: is a handsome 5 – 6 year old male smooth coat that was rescued from a local shelter after he was wandering the streets as a stray. He is a very friendly boy that loves to be around people, kids, and other dogs. He would love to go on long walks and to be just around his family. He will require basic obedience training because he does pull on a leash and he needs to learn the basic commands. Ralph is neutered and current on all his vaccines and is just waiting for the right family to come and adopt him. 4/18/2008

Yukon: Yukon needs a home with an older or less active family where he can hold down your carpet or couch. His current foster mom has to move and Yukon needs to get acclimated to a new family SOON. Do you have room in your heart for this mature gentle giant? If you are looking for love and devotion in a big lazy package, Yukon is the dog for you. 4/17/2008

Lela: is a long haired female who just turned 4 years old. She is spayed and up to date on all shots, and housebroken. Lela gets along with other dogs, cats and kittens. She enjoys just being inside a house and sleeping. She is lovable and very mellow. She does bark when she hears noise. 4/17/2008

Jake: Shorthaired Male – approximately 15 to 16 months old. Jake came into rescue from Eastern OR and was picked up there roaming the streets until some rescue people found him. He had been on the go for some time as he was quite thin. He hasn’t lost his trust in people as he is a very happy guy. Loves to be brushed, has been introduced to cookies and just wants to go to his forever home. He plays with a female Saint which he definitely has learned to respect. I have not had him with other males as his appointment to be neutered is next week. He will be up to date on all shots, Heartworm tested, and micro chipped prior to adoption. He will be happiest with lots of attention. 4/17/2008

Duchess: is a 4 year old smooth coat female. She is very well-behaved; she gets along with cats and other dogs, and loves people. She has a very sweet disposition, and would love to find an owner than will spend a lot of time with her and give her the forever home that she deserves. 4/17/2008

Missy: is a 6-year old spayed female rough coat. When the mill where she lived all her life went out of business, she was taken into a shelter where she stayed for 3 months before coming to rescue. She is not a big saint, weighing in at just less than 100 pounds. She has not had a lot of attention from people, and her social skills with other dogs need improvement. She wants be the dominant female and would prefer to be the only female in the home, but she is good with male dogs. 4/17/2008

Eddie: this handsome boy is a 3 year old longhaired St. Bernard who came into Rescue after being found and not reclaimed. Eddie is such a good boy he gets along with other dogs and even cats. Eddie loves people and would do best in a home where someone is home alot. He loves to cuddle! Neutered, shots, microchip 4/17/2008

Roger: is a year old neutered male Saint Bernard mix. Some people fondly call him an ‘urban Saint’ as he is much smaller than a purebred Saint (only about 60 lbs.) Roger is current on all vaccines, has been treated for fleas, and has been de-wormed. He has tested lightly positive for heartworms, but the vet feels that regular monthly heartworm preventative will be enough to clear up his heartworms after a time. Roger loves children, and gets along well with most other dogs (especially the girls!). He loves to go for rides in the car. Roger requires a secure yard, and lots of love. He does not like cats. 4/16/2008

Yox: is a 3 1/2 year old smooth coat male Saint. He is good with kids and other dogs, but hasn’t been around cats. He is a big boy, weighing in at about 170 lbs. Yox is housebroken and mellow, but he does not enjoy car rides too much. Yox is up to date on his medical, and is scheduled to be neutered prior to placement. Yox is currently being housed in the Houston area. 4/16/2008

Beauty: is a 5 months old spayed female Saint Bernard mixed with Labrador Retriever. She was owned by some people who kept her on a chain in their backyard for her entire life, and when they moved away, they made a big list and moved, forgetting to pack up their dog. She was very skinny, and I’ve nursed her back to health. She is spayed and has had all of her shots except for rabies and distemper. She has been an outside dog, but I’m trying to get her housebroken right now. She’s doing okay, but sometimes has accidents. She knows how to sit, and is good with the kids who like to play with her. She’s okay with other dogs, but likes to play a lot, and she’s good on a leash. She doesn’t bother the cats that I have, so I think she’s okay with kitties too. Beauty is being kept by her rescuer (me, Crystal) in Des Moines, Iowa. I really want her to find her a good home that will give her all of the love and attention she needs, and a big fenced yard to play in. 4/13/2008

Sidney: is estimated to be about 2 years old. He has Saint markings and temperament, but he is smaller, so he could possibly be a Saint mix. Sidney is great with children, and he is housebroken. He was rescued as a ‘death row’ dog, and is still somewhat timid and underweight, but getting braver, fatter, and bolder daily. Sid is very smart, and is crate trained. He prefers no cats in his new family. Other dogs will be fine, as long as he can be the leader. Sid has tested lightly positive for heartworms, but the vet feels that it will be cleared over time with monthly heartworm prevention. 4/13/2008

Lucy: My housemate Ricky and I were given up after my owners said they were allergic to us. They forced us to live in the garage and outside until finally they decided to let ISBR help. I am 2 years old and quite gorgeous as you can see. I am housebroken and know some basic commands. I am great with other dogs, cats, and children. I ride well in the car and enjoy playing with toys. I am quite the looker and will turn heads! Have I caught your eye? 4/9/2008

Ricky: My housemate Lucy and I were given up after my owners said they were allergic to us. They forced us to live in the garage and outside until they finally decided to let ISBR help. I am 3 years old and pretty darn handsome. I have some weight to gain and when I do, I will be a pretty big boy. I am housebroken and know basic commands. I am good with other dogs and children. Did I mention I love to give kisses and enjoy belly rubs. 4/9/2008

Gracie Lou: Poor Miss Gracie Lou weighed only 62 pounds when she came to our rescue group! She was found in Indiana under a front porch of someone’s home. She had been abandoned for a very long time. She was dehydrated, anemic, and emaciated. Poor Gracie Lou also had heartworm disease and was treated successfully. She has trouble seeing out of her one eye but that does not stop Gracie Lou!. Look at Gracie Lou’s face today! She has gained almost 60 pounds and is ready for adoption!!! She would do best in a home without small children as she is very mouthy and loves to play rough. She would do best in a home with another playful dog or multiple dogs. Won’t you give Gracie Lou the home she deserves? 4/9/2008

Thelma: is a 2yo spayed female rough coat. She and her sister were abandoned when their owner moved. They are discovering the wonderful world of air conditioning and wide open spaces vs. the small pen they were raised in. Thelma has been w/ us since 8/06. She has made great strides in becoming a true Saint. She quietly waits her turn and gently seeks attention when appropriate. 4/9/2008

Hannah: came into rescue due to neglect. She is the sweetest dog, great personality!! She is housebroken and appears to have some training. She came into rescue extremely thin. very matted and dirty. She craves attention. She will absolutely blossom with some care and attention. She will be spayed, current on vaccinations, wormed, and groomed. She is on the smaller size very feminine dog. Do you have the time to love her?? Appears to be just a 2 yr old or so. 4/8/2008

Zeus: Meet Zeus he came in to rescue also due to neglect. He is a big goofus with a heart of gold. Needs a firm hand to remind him of his training but he wants to please. His favorite thing is a belly rub. He is on the thin side, but will gain in the right environment. He will be Neutered, wormed, current on vaccinations, and groomed. A foot warmer he is. He also appears around 2 or so. 4/8/2008

Daisy: is about 1 yr old and in a foster home with kids And dogs. She was very shy when she came into rescue And would do well to go to a home where she can be Socialized more and have company at home. She will Need to also continue obedience training with her new Forever family. 4/8/2008

Bridget: is 8 mo old female that was surrendered to a shelter because she didn’t know how to meet new dogs. She is learning to do that at doggy care and many other things that she probably didn’t get to learn because she probably was taken away from her mom & litter too early. She will make a great addition to some family. She will need to continue her obedience. 4/8/2008

PEPPERMINT PATTY: Oh, those eyes! Patty was born on Christmas day in 2006. Life hasn’t been easy for Patty, and she needs some TLC to help bring her weight back up to a proper level. She’s a roughcoat (longhaired) girl who is vaccinated, HW-negative, and housetrained. She’ll soon be spayed and then will be ready to meet prospective families. Patty’s a pleasant girl with lots of energy and she’d be a good match for an active family. She will need a fenced yard, and children should be over age 8 or 9. She plays well with most other dogs but is a bit too curious about cats. The successful applicant will have a fenced yard. And Saint- or giant-breed-experience would be a plus. 4/6/2008

SEQUOIA: Cute little Sequoia is not quite two years old. Her dad worked long hours and couldn’t give her the time he felt she deserved so he made the tough decision to surrender her. She’s housetrained, up-to-date on vaccinations. She’ll be spayed and heartworm-tested within the week and then will be ready to meet you. She’s very much a cuddler. And she LOVES cooling off in her own little swimming pool in the summertime. Sequoia is gentle with children of all ages. She’s friendly with most other dogs and with cats. She will need a secure fenced yard and a family that’s really into giving tummy scratches. If you’ll give her the occasional table scraps she’ll be your friend for life. 4/6/2008

Gracie: is a one year old female Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. She was rescued by a kind hearted person (who thought she was a Saint Bernard) when the previous owner said he was going to ‘take her out back and shoot her.’ Gracie is current on all vaccines, de-wormed, and has been treated for fleas. She will be spayed soon. Gracie has tested lightly positive for heartworms, but the vet feels that it is light enough where monthly heartworm preventative will clear it up in a year. Gracie is very calm and well mannered, and loves to give kisses. She was afraid of her doggie playmates at first, but now is warming up to them. She seems fine with livestock and cats. Gracie is somewhat nervous when on a leash-she may have spent alot of her life ‘chained up’, but her foster family is working on that. 4/4/2008

Dakota: is a 3yo rough coat neutered male. 4/2/2008

April: April is a 9 month old rough coat saint. She is housebroken, good with dogs, cats and kids. She was an owner surrender because she was too big for their apartment. She is a sweet girl looking for a good home. 4/1/2008

Molly: is a two year old, black mask, rough coat Saint Bernard. She is housetrained, gets along well with cats, kids and dogs. Would you like to give Molly her forever home? 3/31/2008

Blitzen: My name is Blitzen. Yes, like the reindeer! I am a fabulous 4 year old boy, ready to meet my new family! I REALLY love attention and will do just about anything for some. I know basic commands, and my foster mom thinks I am potty trained. We are working on getting all the mats out of my coat, and I deal with this well. I want to be handsome for my new home! Maybe it will be with you?? 3/31/2008

She especially enjoys the company of a kitten that she likes to harass but they are becoming great friends. Chloe is waiting for that special family that can show her what this world is all about. 3/26/2008

Tiny: My name is Tiny! Although my foster family does not think I am very tiny. I am a two year old male and aren’t I just the cutest thing? I love other dogs and especially kids. I am lucky to have a potential new home from rescue’s waiting list to go to already- so wish me luck! 3/24/2008

Delilah: Delilah is a 2 1/2 year old rough coat female. She is sweat, full of energy and wants to please you. She does well with other dogs. Jewel: I was abandoned in the country in Central Illinois and was picked up by a local animal control agency. I was skinny and had a terrible skin infection from a flea infestation. Luckily ISBR rescued me just hours before I was set to be euthanized. I am a very sweet girl. I get along well with other dogs and cats. I would do best in a home with older children as I like to jump up on people and haven’t had much obedience training. I have been through a rough time in my 3 years of life. Can you give me the home I deserve? 3/20/2008

BEAR: is a 15 month old neutered, longhaired male. He is just a love and would make a great addition to his new family. As he is still a puppy, he has quite a bit of growing to do. Cristal: is a sweet girl who is just over a year old. She’s good with dogs, children and cats and would make a great addition to any family. She’s pretty calm for such a young girl and really enjoys being the center of her families attention. Cristal is recently spayed, up to date on her shots and has started flea, tick and heartworm prevention. The successful applicant will have a fenced yard and plenty of love to give. 3/12/2008

Crockett: is a 3 year old male, beautiful mantle coat, tall and lean. This beautiful boy doesn’t even drool! Crockett is up to date on his shots and has been neutered. He will be a wonderful addition to any family who wants to offer him a forever home. Crockett is extremely loving and affectionate, he is most certainly a lap dog and would enjoy sleeping in someone’s bed. He’s well trained and well behaved, decent on a leash and does fine left alone home uncrated, although he is crate trained. Crockett is fine with dogs, hes not super playful but doesn’t care either way and although we have not cat tested him, we assume he would be fine with cats also. The successful applicant to give this special boy a home will have a fenced yard and considerate children over 10 and have a lot of time to spend with this him! 3/12/2008

Samantha: Got room on your sofa for a senior Saint? The sudden death of a New England Saint Bernard Club member left his wonderful Saints without a dad. Currently in foster care awaiting her forever homes, she’d very much like a chance To charm you. Samantha is pretty laid-back and doesn’t require much a warm bed, good food, some play time, and the occasional hug. In return you’ll have the joy of Saintly companionship and the opportunity to help a Saint who truly needs you. There is just one female left for adoption, Samantha, who is just 7 years old. She is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm-negative, spayed, and is house trained. She is a lovely, lovely Saint with a delightful temperament, but she needs a place to live out the rest of her life (and that will likely be several years as Saints can live 10-12 years). If you’ve got a big heart and would like an abundance of love in return, please get in touch. 3/12/2008

Shona: Shona was abandoned in her home when it was foreclosed on, her family was able to re-home ALL the their other animals but they left her in the filth! Shona is a saintly senior at a whopping 13 years old- but don’t that let scare you, this girl has a lot of life left in her. Shona is sweet as can be and loves to be active with us, she enjoys her walks, playtime and especially her cuddle time. She’s great with kids, although we prefer they be mellow for her sake and she’s good with dogs and cats too. Shes been good for grooming, nail clipping and even bathing, I think she just loves all of the attention! 3/12/2008

Logan: is the Saint for you! He’s a big sweet boy, (TALL and about 180lbs) was raised with kids and pets and is a good all around dog. Logan is almost 2, neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations. Logan enjoys outings and time spent with his family, he’s the perfect dog to be in the center of his families life. Walks to the bus stop, trips to the beach, he’ll love it all. Logan’s new family should have a fenced in yard and few or no stairs (he hates them) children over 10 would be great and another canine friend to romp around with too. 3/12/2008

Isabella: aka Izzy is a 4 1/2 yr old rough coat female, great with people, and children, but needs to be an only pet. She has some arthritis, (dont we all as we age) so probably older children, or a retired couple would be perfect for this gentle sweetheart of a saint. She loves to stay right by your side, and to be your best friend. 3/10/2008

Rocky: is a 2 year old male rough coat. We rescued Rocky with his mate and two babies from a owner in LA because they didn’t want him or the others anymore. Bear: is a 3 ½ year old neutered male who gets along well with other dogs. Cats are unknown. He loves car rides and lots of loves. When company comes over you can count on Bear being the first one at the door, wiggling with excitement that someone new is coming to give him attention. Bear however is a Houdini. He can get out of any fence you put him in so beware he will need to be walked on a leash. Bear walks nicely on a leash and knows basic commands. 3/9/2008

Berkley: Neutered Male, 4 years old, Owner Surrender, I was brought here because my owner was very ill and could not take care of me any longer. I am a great boy who needs lots of attention. You see I have separation anxiety and I can not be left alone for very long periods of time. I get very scared and sad when I am all alone. I need a family who has lots of time to devote to me. I would love a stay at home mommy or daddy or someone who could take me to work with them. I am housebroken. I have been around children, cats, and other dogs. However, I prefer female dogs. I am pretty good on leash and as you can see I could use a walking partner. Hey, I’m not fat, just fluffy ! How about you? Could you use a walking partner too? 3/9/2008

Annie: is a spayed, rough coat female, approx. 4 years old. She is doing very well in her foster home and loves squeaky toys. She plays well with the other dogs and is good with cats, although she doesn’t have much patience for rude dogs. She will need some obedience training, and is doing well on house-training in spite of her prior outdoor-only life. She would love to find a home with a family that will let her watch TV with them and snuggle on the couch. 3/8/2008

Phoenix: is a 1 1/2 year old neutered male smooth coat. He still will need a lot of training and someone to work consistently with him to improve his manners, as he acts like a puppy almost all of the time. He is good with other dogs and would love to find a home with another active dog to play with. 3/8/2008

Hercules: is a 5-year old, rough coat neutered male. He was taken in as a stray after hanging out around a school for weeks, hungry and injured. His right eye had to be removed because of a severe injury, and he is nearly deaf in his right ear. His previous owner spent a year and a half getting him back into shape, but due to a lifestyle change, had to surrender him to rescue. He will need a home that won’t crate or confine him, and will let him establish his own routine in his own time as he does not adapt quickly to change. He has not had any problems running loose in his foster home, and spends most of his time sleeping under the kitchen table. He is good with older children, other dogs, but NO cats. 3/8/2008

Duncan: Adorable Duncan is a 9 month old shorthaired male. He was just neutered and had his rear dewclaws removed and is recovering very well. Duncan does great on leash and loves his daily walks, he also enjoys being groomed and playing with our medium size male dog. He does use his mouth a bit to play, like most puppies, so he would do best in a home without kids under the age of 10. Duncan is not yet fully housebroken but is very intelligent and loves to please. 3/6/2008

BOB: is a 1 1/2 year old neutered, longhaired male. He is housebroken and came from a home with children. Bob loves everybody but could use a little more training when going for walks. He seems to do well around the other dogs. He would make a great addition to his new and forever home. 3/4/2008

Daisy: My name is Daisy. I am a fabulous 5 year old girl in need of a caring home. Life has not been kind to me lately. I was found under a porch living in muck. If I could talk, I would have amazing stories to tell. My winning disposition comes shining through no matter what! Sadly, the left side of my face is paralyzed, but I do not let that bother me. I can eat and see just fine! I also do not hear too well, but I sure make up for that with my great eyesight and keen nose. I have lost a lot of hair and had some open wounds that my foster mom is taking care of. I am calm, serene and do not need a ton of exercise. I get along with everyone, little people, cats and other dogs. My greatest wish is to belong to a family who will love me forever. 3/3/2008

Lillie: Lillie has just turned 1 year old. She’s a rough coat, full masked female Saint that due to poor care and TWO litters before her first birthday is extremely thin, timid and shy. Lillie has been to the vet, received her shots, dewormer and some antibiotics for a severe case of Ehrlichia (tick borne disease) and will be ready for a new forever home in about 30 days. Would you like to give Lillie her forever home. 3/3/2008

Ozzy: is 6 months old and is a rough coat with a classic mask. He came from the same home as Sissy and has suffered the same treatment as her. Annie: this dear girl is a 3 year old female short-haired St. Bernard whose family is divorcing and moving from Pioche, NV and are not taking her along so she is coming into our Rescue. Delilah: is a spayed female Saint (mix?) slightly over a year old. She is heartworm negative and current on all vaccines. Delilah enjoys other dogs, is cat tolerant, and loves children. She is housebroken, crate trained, and would love to be a babysitter for your family! Delilah still displays “puppy energy”, but she is a smart dog, and a fast learner. She is grateful that she was rescued from the shelter, and wants to give that love back to her “forever” family. Could that be you? 2/29/2008

Abby: is a five year old spay female. She is extremely sweet and is showing some signs of separation anxiety. She is very good with other dogs large and small. Abby is a bit chubby so not giving her treats may be in her best interest. 2/26/2008

COCO: Hi there. I came into Rescue with my sister Emmie because my owners could no longer care for us. I’m currently on antibiotics for Lyme disease and will soon begin treatment for heartworm disease. Then I’ll be good as new. Once I’ve recovered I look forward to meeting you! I’m just two years old and I’m a roughcoat (long hair). I’m not yet spayed but will be snipped prior to adoption. I’ve had all my shots. I NEVER have accidents in the house, and I love to cuddle. I would prefer to have a fenced yard in which to run around. I LOVE to run around! And I’d like some kids to play with but they’ll need to be a little patient with me. My other family didn’t treat me very nicely and sometimes I get afraid that I’ll be hit. I promise to try to be a very good girl if you’ll only give me a chance. I would like to be your family’s only pet. How ’bout stopping by to say hello? I promise to give you lots of kisses. My foster mom says to tell you that I know a few commands but will need to have some obedience lessons to “polish my act”. That should be fun ’cause I’m VERY smart. 2/25/2008

PENNY: This little sweetheart is as bright as a shiny copper penny. Cute beyond measure. Smart as a whip. Just a DARLING young lady! She’s seven months old, spayed, vaccinated, HW-negative, and microchipped. She’s not quite housebroken but is almost there, and she tries REAL hard. Penny would like a home of her own, maybe with another dog or with kids. She’s been with toddler-aged kids and plays nicely with them. A fenced yard is strongly preferred. Successful completion of formal obedience lessons within 60 days will be required. She will need a family with a stay-at-home parent to help complete her housetraining. She’s a charmer and is gonna go quickly so don’t procrastinate! 2/25/2008

Buddy:, Jake: Chrissy:, Molly:, Maggie:, Snowball:, and Samantha: Got room on your sofa for a senior Saint? The sudden death of New England Saint Bernard Club member Ted Szymkuc left his wonderful Saints without a dad. Currently in foster care awaiting their forever homes, they’d very much like a chance to charm you. They’re pretty laid-back and don’t require much — a warm bed, good food, some play time, and the occasional hug. In return you’ll have the joy of Saintly companionship and the opportunity to help a Saint who truly needs you. There are two males (Buddy and Jake) and five females (Chrissy, Molly, Maggie, Snowball, and Samantha). Maggie’s ten years old; Chrissy is nine; the others are all just seven. All are up-to-date on vaccinations and are heartworm-negative. Jake, Maggie, Samantha and Snowball are spayed/neutered. They all appear to be housetrained. Chrissy and Molly are special-needs dogs. (Chrissy has Addison’s disease and Molly has a seizure disorder. But don’t let that scare you off because Addison’s and epilepsy are conditions that are well-managed on meds.) These are lovely, lovely Saints with delightful temperaments. But they need a place to live out the rest of their lives (and that will likely be several years as Saints can live 10-12 years). If you’ve got a big heart and would like an abundance of love in return, please get in touch. 2/25/2008

SHELBY: and CHLOE: Meet the bookends. Shelby and Chloe are four-year-old sisters who come from a line of champion show dogs. Their owners loved them but weren’t able to give them the time they need and deserve so they asked for our assistance. Shelby is a smoothcoat and Chloe’s a roughcoat. They’re both spayed, vaccinated, HW-negative and housetrained. You don’t ever see one without the other. They’re delightful little ladies who are dependent on each other and we are looking to place them together. So …. remember that old Wrigley’s commercial, “Double your pleasure, double your fun?” We promise that our girls will live up to that adage. They would probably do best as the family’s only pets. The successful applicant will have a fenced yard and children over age 8 or so. 2/25/2008

CORNELIUS: is a 5-6 year old neutered, longhaired male. He is a great dog with a wonderful personality. He is good with other dogs and loves everyone that he meets. He can be a big goof and then turn into the biggest “love-bug” in a matter of seconds. Corny was returned to our rescue program after being with his adoptive family for the past 4 years, due to a divorce. He will be a wonderful addition to his new and forever family. 2/24/2008

Jerry: Say hello to Jerry. He is quite the guy!! Only five years old and is anxious to find his permanent home. He is currently living happily with a foster mom and dad, but would love to find a place that will call him their own. He is up to date on his shots, has been neutered, is housebroken, and wants to love YOU. As with most all Saints, he is great with kids, loves other dogs, loves to walk on a leash and, of course, loves to go for rides in the car. He can kiss you as long as you can stand it. He is quite the love bug. Jerry is on the small size, only weighing about 90 pounds. This might be the perfect opportunity for someone who always wanted a Saint Bernard, but were afraid to handle a really big dog. He is a great size…sort of a “starter saint”. Please call and check on him. 2/24/2008

Metropaws: is a young male Saint. He was found as a stray, shivering and afraid. He is friendly with other dogs and loves people. He does not seem to be comfortable indoors yet, so he may have lived most of his life outside, until now. Metro is current on all vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and is scheduled to be neutered within a week. His adoption fee is $300.00. He is currently being fostered in the DFW area. 2/21/2008

Bruno: “The Bridge Dog” Early in the fall of 2007, my husband and I saw something that was incredibly disturbing. A skeleton of a dog was wandering down the shoreline. Immediately I teared up. My husband looked at me and said, “Don’t worry, we’ll get him”. When we returned, we found him buried in a pile of trash under a bridge. He had no hair, and barely looked up at us. When we got him home and bathed him, we discovered an old gunshot wound to his snout, his bottom jaw was shattered from the injury. He was covered in ticks and infection oozed out of his eyes and nose. We set him up with an automatic dog feeder, gathered scraps from the local BBQ restaurant and gave him antibiotics and pain killers. Weeks later, Bruno, named for the dog on Cinderella, was eating, healing and growing hair. The pictures speak for themselves. When we rescued Bruno, we did not do it for ourselves. We have known all along that he “belongs” to someone else. We have prayed that the right person will come along and Bruno can have his “happily ever after”. 2/21/2008

Snookie: Here is Snookie A wonderful 6-7 month old spayed, female rough coat. She is full of life. She is all about the play but takes commands well and is learning to behave in the house. She is not house trained yet but learns very quickly. She loves racing around the yard at top speed. She is a very affectionate dog and had learned a few commands. We brought her in from a kill shelter. 2/19/2008

Lola: This is Lola. Whatever Lola wants, Lola tries to get. She is getting used to being in the house and the house rules. She is a 16month spayed female who came from a breeder. She is very lovable and really enjoys romping with her foster brothers and sisters. She will be a great girl with a little training. 2/19/2008

Bailey: 5 year old Shorthaired female. Bailey’s previous owner decided she didn’t want her anymore and took her to the shelter to be euthanized. Bailey is a very sweet, loving, mellow girl that loves being indoors. She needs some weight and someone that is willing to give her lots of affection. She is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and micro chipped. Bailey gets along with male and female dogs and cats. She is also housebroken. Just waiting for that forever home. 2/17/2008

Splash: My sister Cadie and I found ourselves in a very high kill shelter after our owner could no longer afford to keep us. I am a 3 year old boy that is good with other dogs and children. I am housebroken and crate trained. I ride good in the car and love to play. I am a sweet boy that deserves a second chance. Could you be my forever home? 2/16/2008

Cadie: My brother Splash and I found ourselves in a high kill shelter after our owner could no longer afford to keep us. I am a very sweet 3 year old girl that is good with other dogs and children. I am a petite little girl, weighing just about 65 pounds! I am a smooth coat (short hair). I love to cuddle with my stuffed animals and snuggle in your lap. I give kisses too!! Could you be my lucky star? 2/16/2008

Sarah: Hi My name is Sarah ! I’m a rough coat, half masked beauty! I’m almost 2 years old, up to date on my shots and will be spayed before I am adopted. My mom got sick and couldn’t take care of me anymore, It really broke her heart but her loss is your gain, Ill be a great addition to any family. I’m a good girl and super friendly. I’m house trained, I know a few commands like “sit” “down” “come” and “hug”. Hugs are my favorite although my foster Mom says that not everyone I meet wants a hug from me (I’m not quite sure I believe her, who could resist me!?), so we’re working on that. I’m good with dogs, and good with cats, although sometimes I think its a lot of fun to chase them! I grew up with a skin-kid so a few of those might be fun to have around too but they should probably be over 10 because I just don’t know my size ! Id also like another dog to pal around with and a fenced in yard is a must because I love to run around and play! 2/14/2008

Sadie: Sometimes you think you have found the perfect home. A warm bed, food, treats, and love. Then one day because of new babies, new pets, and new furniture, you find yourself living outside with no shelter. Then one day, they simply just leave the gate open so you will just leave. That is what happened to me. I am a very sweet 5 year old Saint that grew up with kids, cats, and other dogs. I am a little on the thin side right now as I have been eating out of trash cans and scraps nice people would offer me. I also have to grow a new coat because I had fleas so bad, I scratched myself bald. Thank goodness I had a microchip implanted and I was safely returned to ISBR. I am quite the lover with a fantastic personality! Could you help me find a real home where I will be loved for the rest of my life? 2/11/2008

Lexi: After my brother Luke and I were found running lose, a local humane society helped us. With the help of volunteers, we made our way to ISBR. I am a very sweet 1 year old girl who loves other dogs, good with cats, people, and older children. I love tummy rubs and to cuddle. I am housebroken and crate trained. I am ready to start a new life with you! Did I mention that I am gorgeous too? 2/11/2008

Sam: Adorable, sweet one year old male shorthaired St. Bernard who came into our Rescue because his previous family lost their home. Sam is good with other dogs and children. He just needs some basic obedience to be better on a leash. He is a strong boy! Neutered, shots, microchip 2/11/2008

Ruby: is a 3yr old spayed smooth coat. She loves people and children. She gets along fine with the other animals but is a bit bossy at times since she was on her own a lot in her previous life. She is very loyal and really enjoys sleeping right next to a person. 2/9/2008

Troy: is 150lbs. of love. He was heartworm positive when he came to rescue. He came through the treatment well. He was never in a house and is adjusting to the inside rules. He enjoys playing with toys and he gets along good with the other dogs. 2/9/2008

Mozart: is a 3 year old male rough coated dog that would love to have a home without small children. He is well mannered and is crate trained. He is good on a leash and collar but better on a gentle leader. He is very loving and loves attention. 2/8/2008

Puxy: is half Saint Bernard, and half ? His Saintly mom Rosie was unwanted and surrendered to rescue, along with Puxy and his 2 brothers. He currently weighs 7.5 pounds and is the plumpest of the three pups. He has had 1 series of vaccines to date. He has been named after the famous groundhog because he is just the cutest little thing when he waddles around! 2/7/2008

TJ (Tank Jr.): is a 4 year old male long hair Saint. He is in the process of being neutered and getting up-to-date on vaccines and tested for heartworms. TJ is seeking a loving home that has time to dedicate to him! He likes children, other dogs, and has been with cats in the past. 2/7/2008

BIGGS: Look at me, I am so skinny. At the rescue, I get to eat as much as I want and I am looking better everyday. I do need a forever home and I am housetrained. Please make room for me! 2/5/2008

Apollo: is an 18 month old smooth coat neutered male. He has a wonderful personality and gets along well with 2 and 4 legged creatures of all ages. Apollo absolutely LOVES people and children. He lived with 2 small children and a neighborhood full of kids and dogs. He relaxes in the evening with his foster mom’s dogs and cats but is not interacting with them at this time. That could be due to the stress of loosing his home and not really understanding why he is living in a totally different environment than he is used to. Apollo is very calm but does enjoy playing with is new Pomeranian puppy friend. Unfortunately he has Addison’s disease. In this disease, the adrenal glands (small glands above the kidneys) are not making steroids and this is where they are produced. Steroids are important for many things, especially regulating electrolytes. This means that Apollo must have supplemental steroids given to him daily and for the rest of his life. Due to the steroids he is drinking a lot which means he has to go to the bathroom often. If you can find room in your heart and pocketbook to adopt this sweet boy he will be grateful and loyal to you for eternity. 2/5/2008

Trudy: Meet Trudy she is an owner surrender due to her family moving. She is 2 yr old long haired spayed housebroken current on vaccinations extremely loving and good natured. She just needs a forever family who will appreciate and love her. 2/4/2008

Roscoe: After I was found running lose as a stray, a local humane society helped me find my way to ISBR. I am a very sweet boy who is great with other dogs, cats, and children. I love to play and snuggle! I am housebroken and crate trained. If you are looking for a handsome, loving guy, I am your man! 2/3/2008

Elise: 2 yr. old, short haired, spayed female. Active, beautiful little girl. LOVES to play with other dogs. High energy and very loving and sweet. May be a bit too hyper for small children. 2/2/2008

Mister: is a 3 year old smudge coat neutered male. He is a good sized boy that likes to drool so the faint at heart need not apply. He has come into rescue due to unfortunate circumstance beyond his owners control. Mister was very sad in the beginning but has found that his foster home can be quite fun. He likes other dogs but does not share his toys nicely with his canine friends. His favorite tricks are to throw himself onto the floor for belly rubs and taking your hand in his mouth to tell you he would like to be pet some more. Rescue is teaching him that this is not a nice trick because when he does this to strangers they tend to pass out from fright! Although it appears that he is housetrained he has had a couple of accidents when he is home alone. Mister walks very nicely on a leash and at time will even look back at his companion to make sure she is keeping up with him. Mister’s Christmas wish is to have a home of his very own. Can you make his wish come true? 2/2/2008

Picol: My name is Picol. I’m 19 months old. I previously lived in a home that I had free run of with another dog and cats. For the last 5 months I have been living on a horse farm. I’m on the small side for a saint, but very cute and sweet, with lots of expression. 2/1/2008

JJ: 5-6 yr old longhaired male. He is a very sweet boy who loves everyone. He seems to do okay with other dogs and will need an adult home or one with older children who will respect his mature nature. *SPECIAL NEEDS DOG* as JJ is prone to ear infections and will need a home who is willing to stay on top of this condition. This boy deserves another chance in life to be someone’s forever companion. 1/29/2008

Fiddich: is a neutered rough coat 15 month old male. He is not a big guy (weight around 100 pounds), and will probably be a medium-size Saint when he is full grown. I will require all kinds of training, and is doing okay so far on house- and crate-training. He plays with his new foster family’s pug and has a very sweet disposition. He will need a home with a playmate who can keep up with his energy level. 1/29/2008

Lola: is a 15-month old rough coat spayed female. She is a smaller female, only 90 pounds, and gets along with other dogs and cats. She has been around small children, but is still very rambunctious due to her age and the fact that she needs adequate training and socialization. She would love to find a home with another dog to play with, and a family that wants a permanent addition to their home. 1/29/2008

Tulo: is a 10 month old, spayed smooth coat female. She is a big girl, and will be an X- Large adult Saint. She is very sweet, and has experience with small children, cats, and other dogs. She is VERY curious about cats, but doesn’t seem to want to eat them. She should be in a home with another dog to play with, and with an owner willing to work with her on all forms of training. She is crate & house-trained. 1/29/2008

April: is a 6 year old smooth coat spayed female. She came back into Rescue after three years (due to a divorce) and no one in her family could find a way to keep her. She very well-behaved around people, especially children, but is a dominant female and would prefer to be the only female in the home. She is learning to tolerate cats in her foster home. 1/29/2008

Dollie: saint/setter mix? I have had this girl since she was six weeks old. Pulled her and her two litter mates from the shelter and she almost died from coccidia and worms. Just haven’t “concentrated” on finding her a home since she was “safe” with me and the dogs at the shelter were more “urgent”. As close as I can figure, she is a saint/setter mix. I saw pics on the Raleigh GSD site in which the mom of a litter was a GSD…they look very similar to Dollie. See Jerry and Ben. I had her spayed and fully vetted on the 31st of December. It’s time for Dollie to find a home now. She is good inside, needs some potty training, good on leash, great with kids and cats and other dogs. Only messes with “doggie” toys in the doggie toy basket. Very submissive and sweet. She wants to be a lap dog! Though she is a bit too big for my lap! She is around 50 lbs if I remember correctly. Sits, downs and gives a paw. Pretty good on leash. 1/29/2008

Porter: this cutie is 3 year old half-masked St. Bernard who were rescued from our local High Kill Shelter. He is very sweet and playful are probably brother and sister (Dollie). They can be adopted separately. Of course, if you have room in your home and heart for both of them that would be nice (; Altered, shots, microchip 1/28/2008

Abbey: Nice to meet you, my names Abbey! I’m an 8 and a half month old bundle of energy ! My skin Dad recently passed away and my skin Mom already had her hands full with 3 skin kids- so they did the best thing for me and brought me to camp Rescue! I am up to date on my shots, and will be spayed before I go home with you. Right now I’m working on my manners and obedience, I still think the best way to give you love is jump on you but I’m learning and I learn reaallll quick! I love playing and spending time with my people. I really love to play with other dogs, but I should probably only be with older kids because of my size, you know I think I’m much smaller that I really am, I’m 80 lbs and growing fast! As you can see by my picture, I am very very pretty, I’m a smooth coated saint, which means I have short hair and I have the prettiest colored eyes you’ll ever see. Now, what am I looking for with my perfect family: Lets see, First and foremost I need to be treated like a princess!! Second Id like some older, calm, kids and a canine friend to romp around with. A fence is required because of my activity level and my new family will be required to attend obedience with me to make sure I end up with the best manners possible. 1/28/2008

Luke: After my sister Lexi and I were found running lose, a local humane society helped us. With the help of volunteers, we made our way to ISBR. I am a very sweet 1 year old boy who loves other dogs, good with cats, people, and children. I love tummy rubs and to cuddle. I am housebroken and crate trained. I am ready to start a new life with you! Did I mention that I am handsome too? 1/28/2008

St.”Nick”: I guess they call me St. Nick, Nick for short, since I was destined to spend Christmas in a cold shelter after my owner could no longer care for me. With the help of ISBR and the motto “No dog should have to spend Christmas in a shelter”, the ISBR elves came and rescued me. Instead of lots of toys and goodies on their sleigh, they settled for a handsome half masked 6 year old. I am great with other dogs, children, and adults. I just met kitties for the first time and they are pretty interesting to me so for now I need a home where there are no cats. If you are interested in a great dog that loves baths, car rides, and belly rubs, I am your man! 1/28/2008

MELVIN: is a 1 year old neutered, shorthaired male. He is a very fast learner and is thriving on the obedience training that he has been given. Melvin loves everyone, young and old. He has quite a bit of puppy energy and seems to do well around other dogs. He would be a great companion for all in his new family. 1/27/2008

Buford: is a male neutered rough coat. He will 2yo in March 08. Very big boy at 157 pounds. 1/26/2008

ABIGAIL: Four-year-old Abigail ended up in a municipal shelter when her humans lost their housing. She’s a roughcoat (longhair) and is housetrained. She’s vaccinated but still needs to be spayed and heartworm-tested before she’ll be released for adoption. Abby is on the chunky side (aren’t we all?) and it looks like she NEVER missed a meal. In fact, she’s quite overweight. We’ve just started her on a weight-reduction diet and eliminated “people food”. If you’re not a meticulous housekeeper, Abby just may be the girl for you She HATES the vacuum cleaner! Initially timid around strangers, she warms up when she realizes there’s no threat. She will need a little work on leash manners. Abby does well with most other dogs; she is unknown with cats. She’s an affectionate girl who loves to cuddle. Abigail would like an active family who will play with her and take her for long walks (which, of course, will aid in getting her excess weight off). She will need a fenced yard and maybe some kids to play with. Saint- or giant-breed-experience would be a definite plus. 1/24/2008

Molly: is a young female spay and current on her shots. Molly loves people. She will roll over and let you pet her belly for hours. Molly is fine with other dogs. 1/21/2008

Clementines: owners lost their house and then left her in it to starve. The owners went back to feed her every so often and a neighbor supplemented when they didn’t come. Regardless, it wasn’t enough. ‘Tine is skin and bones but she has a kind heart and soul and just wants a family to love. With some tlc she will be as good as new. She is completely vetted and spayed, she is housetrained and even has house manners. She is not destructive and would really like a spot on your sofa. Tine also knows “sit” “down” and “come.” Clementine loves affection and attention. She would thrive with older children or a family where someone is home a lot of the time. She is good with dogs but right about now we think she should be an only dog so she can receive all the attention she deserves. 1/21/2008

King: Hi! My name is King, and what a King I am. I am a two year old rough coat male and weigh around 140 lbs. I am neutered and up to date on my shots. My family was evicted from our home and that’s how I ended up with the nice people here at rescue. I’m really good with people and don’t mind strangers, I haven’t been around many kids, so older kids would probably be better for me. I’m respectful of dogs, I haven’t really felt much like playing yet, but maybe once I warm up. I’m also very respectful of cats. I know sit, down and give paw, I’m also very delightful on a leash and LOVE my walks! 1/21/2008

Kegg: is a 2 yo neutered male rough coat. He was hit by a car last summer and fractured is right front leg. Veterinarians repaired the fracture and rehabilitated him. He still does limp on the leg but is continuing to improve. His owner did not want him back if he was going to be less than 100%. This guy is extremely sweet and loving. Please consider this special needs Saint. 1/18/2008

Terry: is a 18 mo old Spayed female rough coat. She is all puppy and very sweet. Her owner could not afford to care for her and turned her into a shelter. We are working on her obedience training, She’s smart and eager to please. 1/18/2008

MEMPHIS: This handsome guy is two-year-old Memphis. He’s a roughcoat (longhair) who is neutered, housetrained, vaccinated, and negative for heartworm. Memphis is a bit on the timid side and is initially wary when meeting new people. But he has lots of potential and will make a delightful companion for the patient adopter who is willing to work with him on socialization issues. He’s currently with our trainer who is giving him a refresher course on leash manners. The successful applicant will have a fenced yard and children over age 12. We think Memphis will do best as the family’s only pet. 1/17/2008

Koda: is half Saint Bernard, and half ? His Saintly mom Rosie was unwanted and surrendered to rescue, along with Koda and his 2 brothers. He currently weighs 6.5 pounds and is the most playful of the three pups. He must look a lot like Dad, but he is still 1/2 Saint! He has had 1 series of vaccines to date. 1/17/2008

Cosmo: 8 month old long haired male, neutered, up to date on his shots, heart-worm negative, and will be micro-chipped prior to adoption. Cosmo was given up for adoption because his owners had no time for him. He is a very sweet and loving dog who wants to please, and just loves being with you. He gets along great with other dogs, cats, and children. He walks well on a leash, is learning basic commands at his foster home, and is very responsive to training. Cosmo is very calm and well behaved for a puppy. He would be happiest in a home where the owners are home a lot, or where there is another dog for companionship. 1/16/2008

Jake: 2 yr. old, long haired, neutered male. Very sweet and handsome. Gets along well with other dogs – but is not a big fan of cats. Loves people and is housebroken and crate trained. 1/15/2008

Spayed, shots, microchip. 1/14/2008

Sam: Meet Sam he was turned into the shelter his only crime being a saint “he got too big”. Sam has been thru a rough time, but is going to just blossom with some love, training, and some groceries. He is about 1 1/2 yrs old…now neutered, his shots are current, has been wormed and chipped. He is being crate trained and housebroken and is doing well. Needs a firm hand as he has had no formal training. He loves to give kisses. 1/13/2008

Zoey: 8 month old female – Longhaired. She was placed the day she came in and is going home tomorrow. 1/12/2008

Buck: is half Saint Bernard, and half ? His Saintly mom Rosie was unwanted and surrendered to rescue, along with Buck and his 2 brothers. He currently weighs 6 pounds and is the smallest of the three pups. 1/10/2008

Lilly: is an energetic 1yr. old spayed female. She had no training and is learning to behave and not jump on people. She just gets so excited and happy that she is finally getting the attention she deserves. She is adjusting to life with other dogs. She loves belly rubs and to race around the back yard when she is in a playful mood. 1/10/2008

Poncho: is a 7month old neutered male who is not quite a St. Bernard. He looks to be more Pyrenees. He is a great little guy, however. He is a bit people shy, coming from a breeder but wants the affection. He is very puppy like, playing and tearing papers. He loves the other dogs and is adjusting to the house and the humans. 1/10/2008

Gracie: Meet Gracie She is a 2yr old, spayed female roughcoat. She is full of energy. She was an owner surrender who gave her up due to a disabling disease, which is progressing. Gracie was never with other dogs and kept outside. She is doing a great job at fitting in here. After only a week she is fitting in as if she was here a year. She loves the other animals, is always very happy and is a real people pleaser. 1/10/2008

Goliath: he is a great dog. He is a very sweet 2 1/2 year old 170 pound rough coat. He has a wonderful loving demeanor to anyone he meets. His gaze will make you smile. He would rather spend more time next to you than chasing a ball. He does not fetch or play tug of war, but loves to chew on the bones we give him and sticks if he does not have one. He is great with kids and loves to give kisses. He will also roll over for belly rubs as long as the kids or anyone else wants to give them. He walks well on a leash and is house trained. He knows he is not allowed on furniture and does not try. He is definitely still a puppy, just a big one. 1/8/2008

Zoe: Sweet 1 1/2 year old female shorthair St. Bernard who came into Rescue after her family moved and literally left her behind! Her neighbors have been taking care of her but they cannot keep her. Zoe gets along with other dogs and is a mindful good girl! Spayed, shots, microchip. 1/5/2008

Nico: this cutie pie is a 3 yr. old male bald-face with hospice ears! Nico is a good boy who enjoys walks, going for rides and just lounging in the same room as his person. He would do best in an adult home or one with older children because of his size. Nico gets along with other dogs but he would also do fine as an only dog. Neutered, shots, microchip and back dewclaws removed 1/5/2008

Frankie: Although my owner loved me very much, she wasn’t well enough to care for me and the very large number of animals in her care. With the help of a local humane society, I was brought to safety and taken in by ISBR. I am a very sweet boy who gets along well with other dogs and cats. I would prefer a home with another laid back dog or a home of my own as I am a pretty shy boy. I am quite the lover with adults. I have not had any experience with small children so a home with children over 5 years of age will be required. I am 1-2 years old. Every day is a new experience for me, would you like to help me make new memories? 1/3/2008

“Jack” Frost: I guess they call me Jack Frost, Jack for short, since I was destined to spend Christmas in a cold shelter after I was picked up as a stray and no one claimed me. With the help of ISBR and the motto “No dog should have to spend Christmas in a shelter”, the ISBR elves came and rescued me. Instead of lots of toys and goodies on their sleigh, they settled for a handsome, blue eyed, smooth coat, male. I am good with other dogs, cats, humans, and older children. I will need obedience training so proof of enrollment will be required to adopt me. I am just about 1 year old and a ball of fun! I am quite loveable and enjoy just cuddling on the couch with you. 1/3/2008

Mina: is a spayed female, approx. 4 years old. She came to Saint Bernard Rescue when a kind-hearted Animal Control officer arranged to get her all the way across Kansas into Colorado. She recently had a litter of puppies, but is starting to get her coat back and putting on some healthy weight. She will need a home where she will get plenty of exercise and training, as she is a very high-energy girl. We think she is a Choc. Lab/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix, but since most of the folks here at Colorado Saint Bernard Rescue don’t know retriever breeds very well, that’s just a guess. She gets along great with other dogs. 1/2/2008

Sunshine: is an 18 month old rough coat, spayed female. She is as strong as an ox and came to Rescue from Independence, Missouri. I was taken from a shelter there, and spent six months in her my previous foster home in the mid west before finding her way to Colorado. She will need an owner who can spend a lot of time working on my leash manners, and obedience training in general. She is great with other dogs, and gets along fine with cats and kids. 1/2/2008

She will be one loyal dog to the right home. 1/2/2008
