Keep checking with us - we have new dogs coming in all the time! Thanks!

Eddie: is a new arrival to rescue.  He is about 5 years old, with the sweetest personality ever.  Eddie has been lovingly nicknamed "Unsteady Eddie" because his hind leg is badly infected, and some past injury has caused it to be rendered useless.  It just hangs there.  He gets around quite well on 3 legs (he has had this injury awhile), but the injured one does need to be removed.  Unfortunately, this requires about $2000, which the rescue is trying to raise.  If you can assist "Unsteady Eddie" with a donation, he will thank you greatly!  Eddie is living with 5 other dogs currently.  He might appreciate a quieter home, if you are thinking of fostering (and have fewer dogs!), but he will not be relocated until after he has had surgery and recovered.  Eddie is very thin and has not been well taken care of for some time.  He is ready for some pampering!  Donations can be sent to the Magnolia, TX address above or made via Paypal. 1/18/2012

Harley: is a neutered male smooth coat Saint, 3 years old.  He lives with other dogs (small and large), and adores cats.  He is vaccinated, housebroken, and loves children.  He is a great "couch potato" Saint, and his only drawback is that he is epileptic and must take daily medicine.  Harley must find a new home because his "mom" is wheelchair bound and can no longer safely care for him.  This is a heartbreaking decision for them, as he is a well loved member of the family.  Harley's new family would need to be home alot to administer his meds, and monitor for any seizures.  He is a gorgeous Saint! 1/12/2012

Bart: is an adult male Saint (soon to be neutered).  He gets along with other female dogs (haven't tried males), and is sweet and loves attention.  Bart was a shelter stray, and probably spent the first few years of his life as an outdoor dog, so he is in the process of being housebroken.  He could use some obedience training as well, and because of his size and exuberance, it is not recommended that he go to a home with very young children.  He has not been tested around cats. 10/22/2010

Clyde: is an 8 year old neutered male Saint.  He is current on vaccines, and tested negative for heartworms.  He has been dewormed, treated for fleas, and is ready for a new home.  Clyde is on the smaller side-weighing only 106 lbs.  He has darker markings than most Saints, with most of his face appearing almost black.  Clyde gets along with other dogs, and his foster dog friends are keeping him busy chasing him around the yard.  Clyde may have some hearing loss, as he doesn't respond to some basic noises and can be startled easily.  Therefore, he needs to go to an adult only home, or a home with older children.  Clyde is housebroken and well behaved in the house, although he was obviously fed tablescraps, as he is a bit of a beggar when food is present.  He wagged his tail when he saw kittens, but they were behind a kennel door, so it is not certain that he would not chase if given the opportunity.   Clyde is seeking a mellow "retirement" home.  He is being fostered in the Houston, TX area. 10/27/2011

Olivia: is a young female Saint, estimated to be about 9 months old.  She is sweet and loveable, but she is also still a big destructive puppy, who needs lots of supervision!  Olivia is working on being housebroken, and she loves to play with other dogs and cats, too.  She likes kids, and her foster mom thinks she would be a wonderful playmate for older children, though she isn't really aware of the fact that she is a large breed dog (and the concept that people can fall when you jump on them).  Olivia would benefit from basic obedience training.  She has received vaccines, and tested negative for heartworms.  Olivia is scheduled to be spayed soon.  We aren't sure if she is a purebred Saint, as she is smaller (75 lbs), but of course, still growing! 10/20/2011

Buddy: My name is Buddy.  I found my way to the Saint Bernard Rescue on the 4th of July.  Everyone was out celebrating independence, and I guess my old owner wanted some freedom too (from ME!), so he dumped me along side the road to "be free in the country".  I chased his car as long as I could, but he drove away so fast.  I am a fast runner, but not THAT fast.  Luckily, foster Mom & Dad were driving past, and watched what happened.  They opened the car door and called to me, and I hopped right in (I love car rides). Who knew I would shortly have 5 Saint Bernard sized friends?  But I love them all, even though I am only half their size (50 lbs).  I, myself, am about a year old.  I am crate trained, housebroken, and rarely bark.  I am a good eater, and I come when called (even though they had to give me a new name).  I got shots and neutered last week, and Mom seemed quite pleased when she said I tested "heartworm negative".  I have lots of energy (my Saint friends are lazy, let me tell you), and so Mom crates me when she goes away, as I like to carry clothes all around the house from the hamper, stand up on the counter and remove treasures from the trash cans (Mom doesn't seem to care for that).  Dad got kind of mad too, when I went out and had a nice roll in the horse manure.  But, I love to cuddle in laps, and sleep in the bed (after I got a bath from the horse poop), and I would make some lucky family a wonderful pet.  Mom thinks I am a mix of Husky and Cattle Dog.  Whatever I am, I am cute and sweet, and I am looking for an active family that will exercise me and take me places.  Another dog friend would be fun too. I don't photograph well (Mom says) as I always put my ears back when the camera comes near (what IS that thing?), so my photos also have my Saint pal in them for reassurance.  I am being fostered in the Magnolia, TX area. 7/12/2011

Opal: is a delightful Saint (mix). She is (estimated to be ) 5 years old, and a fast learner!  She is heartworm negative and is current on her shots. Opal is housebroken, loves to go for walks on her leash, likes to ride in the car, knows how to "sit" and wants to learn more.  She has a beautiful silky coat and loves to have her hair brushed.  Her favorite thing is to lay at your feet and be petted. Opal is good with cats and small dogs. She has not been around children yet, as she just came into the rescue program a few days ago, and her foster family doesn't have any.  She was found as a stray and so we don't know her history, but clearly her behavior indicates she was someone's pet at one time.  Opal is being fostered in the Austin area, and would love a family to call her "own". 4/18/2011

Sierra: is a very sweet 2 year old spayed female Saint.  She is a smooth coat.  Sierra is wonderful with other dogs, and likes to play.  She is fine with cats as well.  Sierra is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door.  She is a beautiful Saint, and fairly well behaved, except for counter surfing and raiding the trash can.  Sierra came in as a stray from Oklahoma, along with her 6 month old puppy.  Who knows how long they lived on the street, but Sierra is headshy, especially with men and boys.  When a strange man reaches over/for her head or collar too fast, Sierra will nip.  Almost like she is afraid they will grab her or hit her over the head.  This doesn't seem to be the case with women or girls.  This being said, Sierra will probably do best in a family with adults that understand her fear and will be patient in working with her.  She would prefer a family that has another dog for companionship, and that is home a fair amount of time. Update-3/22/2011 Sierra prefers to be the only female dog in the household, but continues to do well with other male dogs. 2/14/2011
